Runners dont quit--and how fighters and other athletes can level up too.
Running is the single most important thing a fighter can do besides technical skills training. Ive coached too many fighters at every level of the sport of MMA to sit by and let fighters get in the cage without a regular running routine. Whether youre training for a fight or a flag football game, learn how running can help you level up your game. It may not be the perfect exercise for aerobic gains, it may be hard on your knees, and it sure as hell is boring (to me!), but it’s the best thing an athlete can implement into a training regiment. Have a listen. Subscribe, and comment with your thoughts and what you want to hear more about.

Santino's World of MMA: Fight Island here I come!
Kamuela and Santino are back and talking MMA after a long hiatus due to the Covid craziness! It's great to be back in the studio and recording again! The duo starts out talking about Santino's upcoming trip to Abu Dhabi's Fight Island, where Santino will be cornering Tracy Cortez and the Korean Zombie, Chang Sung Jung. Then they talk about the topic of the century (or Santino, anyway)--Israel Adesenya's performance, and something very conspicuous (separate from the fight), and the possibility of Paulo Costa being injured leading up to the fight. Do you think that made a difference in the outcome of the fight? They then go on to discuss the main event fights over the next few weeks on Yas Island: Holm vs. Aldana, Sandhagen vs. Moraes, Korean Zombie vs. Brian Ortega, and Khabib vs. Gaethje. Have a listen. Santino's World: MMAs GOAT, UFC fights in Jacksonville, and MMA betting odds
Don't miss this episode with Kamuela and Santino--it may be the very best episode yet. The dynamic duo talk about the UFC fights in Jacksonville, and all of the controversial stoppages (and non-stoppages) as well as the judging and how the dynamic of fight week was completely different due to the Covid pandemic and the lack of crowd. Santino was there cornering two fighters, and he gives an inside look into the "new normal" for UFC fights for the foreseeable future. They then give their picks for the all-time p4p MMA GOAT due to the tornado Conor Mcgregor stirred up on twitter recently with his GOAT pics. After that, Santino gives his betting pics for the upcoming card (he's 9-2 over the last week of fights and is on a $ making roll!). If you love MMA, and want an inside perspective from a multiple time world champion coach (who trains a lot of the world's top fighters), you've come to the right place.

Santino's World: Corona virus and UFC 249 (Pt1)!
It's been a while since we recorded a podcast! Covid-19 has made me busier than ever with having to train fighters during the lockdown, but I managed to get one in as UFC 249 approaches. Kamuela and I talk about how impactful Covid-19 has been to the gym and fitness industry as a whole, and how weird it is training fighters for UFC fights during the time of social distancing. We then move on to UFC 249 in Jacksonville, FL, where we discuss the main events, and give our predictions for the fights. Tune in. Have a listen, and enjoy. And, hopefully, this lockdown is over sometime soon!

Santino's World: UFC/PFL star, Jordan Johnson, talks fights, being the "Daddest Man on the Planet", cooking, and more.
Jordan Johnson joins me on this episode of Santino's World of MMA. Jordan was an Illinois state champion and University of Iowa wrestler under Tom and Terry Brands before he transitioned to MMA, where he went 4-0 in the UFC before signing with the PFL, where he was the runner up in the $1 million light heavyweight tournament. Jordan and I talk about his MMA career, which brought him to Arizona from Iowa to train at the MMA Lab. We talk about how he slept in a pantry, a travel trailer, a garage, and then trained with Vitor Belfort and Stipe Miocic. In addition to fighting, we talk about social media, cooking--he's the best average cook there is--dressing like he's a middle-aged father in the 1990's and more. Jordan's hilarious, but also a very hard worker. As a coach, I've rarely seen the dedication he brings to the room, or the intensity. Have a listen. Why not? Santino's World EP 9: Ketamine (and hallucinogenics) for MMA/Depression/Anxiety/PTSD with Sonny Diaz
Ketamine Clinic director, Sonny Diaz, comes in to talk about how his clinic uses the hallucinogenic, Ketamine, to help people with a variety of disorders: PTSD, Pain Management, Depression, Anxiety and more. We talk about how he came to start the Ketamine treatments, who his first test subjects were (his Mother!) and how psychedelics such as mushrooms, and LSD, along with Ketamine are making a comeback in the medical field. We also talk about how someone involved in MMA (and other sports) may benefit from Ketamine treatments, and we even touch on our predictions for the fight of the year, Jorge Masvidal vs Nate Diaz. Enjoy!
