“I was groomed to think that I had seduced my perpetrator and I was only 5.” On this episode, Veronica Villegas opens up for the first time about her sexual, mental and emotional abuse she endured over the course of 12 years as a child. She shares the uphill battle she faced as she struggled finding the family support she needed after finally speaking out. We discuss the chaotic aftermath. and the various healing modalities she still uses to manage the long-term effects Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder left behind on her MIND and BODY. Aside from her innocence and sense of safety being taken, she also endured additional psychological abuse after being adopted at the age of 10. “I felt I was useful when people were using me.” – Charles Bailey Charles Bailey understands why so many men are angry and depressed, and why often times they become abusive, or end up attracting abusive partners. He courageously opens up to host Janie Terrazas about his toxic childhood and marriage. They talk about the various forms of abuse he endured at the hands of his addict parents, the foster care system, and his ex-wife. He now inspires others to rise above their pain, so they can learn to love themselves and create healthy relationships. “We must learn how to mindfully express, process and release negative emotions, so we can live authentically and peacefully.” Anger Management Specialist, Charles Bailey, faced various forms of extreme abuse throughout his childhood and adult life. He never had a solid male role model to guide him, and most of the females he grew up with were also toxic. He has had to learn how to love, heal, nurture, and rebuild himself. “I held on to so much pain because there was no one to talk to.” – Joseph Brooks Joseph Brooks is one of the many men who is bravely coming forth and speaking out about his trauma. He shares with host Janie Terrazas, for the first time publicly how he was sexually and physically abused throughout his childhood by various caretakers, including male and female family members.  Aside from sexual victimization he was also tormented and bullied at school. When his father died at a young age he began to spin into a deep depression. “I held on to so much pain because there was no one to talk to. I projected my anger and resentment onto women…in my view they were a source of pain.” He began to abuse alcohol to numb the pain, but it only worsened his depression and rage.  After a failed suicide attempt he spiraled down further and eventually hit rock bottom. He said he had a void in his heart and hole in his chest until the grace of God transformed him. Now he ministers to others who have experienced this darkness. Bio: Since 1986, Joseph has worked in the health and fitness industry. He’s the owner of Next Level Personal Training and is involved in his community as a pastor and motivational speaker. He’s been a supporter of several women’s empowerment events and non-profits, such as the LUYA Women’s Conference and Trinity Grace Fellowship. He’s the creator of “The Value of a Woman” Seminar, and is a regular on “REAL TALK/REAL MEN”. Joseph created the S.T.R.O.N.G.E.R.
