When is this Influencer Marketing Fad Going to Die?
Today's episode is titled "When is this Influencer Marketing Fad Going to Die?". We talk about the current state of Influencer Marketing, how Influencer Marketing has changed over the years from 2015 or 2017 to today. We also discuss a pivot we're seeing from Influencer Marketing paying strangers to your brand to promote you, UGC or User Generated Content is utilizing your own customers who already have a connection with your store or brand. This leads to a more authentic message, it's generally more effective from an ROI standpoint, and is cheaper to hire these UGC Influencers, either affordably, or oftentimes just for some free product or some cross promotion or cross marketing. Tune in and hear all about it. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rulesforrebels/support

Will Shopify Shutdown My Store?
I recently got an e-mail from a guy who was thinking about starting a Shopify store, and starting a business selling supplements, nootropics, and weed related items. He was asking if Shopify would allow him to operate a shop in those niches and selling those things. I thought this was a great leadway into talking about high risk industries, what it means to operate in a high risk industry, additional challenges that come with advertising and merchant processing ie taking payments, and basically what additional challenges that brings to running your business. These are niches and items that can be very profitable to sell, the buyers of those niches spend a lot of money, they tend to be recurring buyers, and the margins are often great, but these industries do come with some additional challenges. Many ecommerce sellers also worry about having their Shopify stores closed down. We also touch on the differences between Shopify and Shopify payments aka Stripe, and that how most of the issues tend to come from Shopify payment as opposed to Shopify themselves shutting you down. Shopify is a website building platform, that's all, they don't really care what you do providing your not breaking the law and not infringing on trademarks, outside of that if you're willing to pay Shopify $29 a month they don't really care. Anyhow, this should be insightful to people who run Shopify stores in certain industries. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rulesforrebels/support

The Future of the Merch by Amazon Program: "Unlimited Products" & "Global" Program
While browsing the web earlier today I happened upon an Amazon Job Posting for a Merch by Amazon Product Manager. In the listing Amazon listed the vision for the future of Amazon Merch which included rolling out an "unlimited" selection of Print on Demand products which seems to allude to a lot more stuff than just tees and Pop Sockets. They also talked of rolling out the program globally. This alludes to them expanding beyond just the US, UK, and Germany. Lastly they spoke to how they want to get the program to the point where items can be printed and shipped within 2 hours of a customers order and delivered Worldwide. In this episode we talk about this job posting and the future of the Merch by Amazon Program. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rulesforrebels/support

Interview with Youtuber Nick the Smoker
In today's episode I interview popular Youtube personality Nick the Smoker. If you're not familiar with Nick, he's got a popular Youtube Channel with over 88,000 subscribers and quickly growing. He's in an unique niche which is doing cigarette reviews. Last year Nick was featured in a NewsWeek article. He's also been featured on popular Youtuber Leon Lush's channel, and due to the unique nature of his niche and content he's run into some issues with Youtube monetization as well as Youtube shutting down his account. I'd been following Nick for a while, I discovered he's also a local Chicago guy so decided to connect with him and bring him on for an interview. While you won't be able to see it in the episode, as it is a podcast, this interview was unique in that he actually came out to my place and we were able to sit down face to face for the interview. I hope you guys enjoy it. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rulesforrebels/support
