Rotary Giving Tree of Joy
For many years Rotary has collected gifts for children around the world. The Giving Trees of Joy lets you buy a gift for a child in need. This year we have had devastating fires and a pandemic that has created even more need for the giving trees. Hear what it’s like to give and how your simple gift can make a huge difference in one child's life from one of those children. “You don’t need to go to Mars to make a difference.”

Once Touched by Need Service is a Privilege
Rotarians in the Rotary Club of Eugene Southowne have been shipping used medical equipment to African medical clinics for 12 years. In partnership with CardioStart International, Rotary receives used medical equipment and supplies that are no longer needed at local hospitals. CardioStart assesses needs in-country making sure that the equipment sent is useful and needed. CardioStart’s focus is saving lives of children with congenital heart defects though surgery and teaching and training local surgeons during their medical missions. Often just one mission can assist and treat hundreds of patients. The Eugene Southtowne Club accepts the equipment donations and provides careful and thoughtful sorting of equipment and supplies, packing, and coordinating the shipping container to Africa. These donations of equipment are left behind for future use in the clinics, increasing their capacity to serve their community.Music by: Rain by Admiral Bob (c) copyright 2020 Licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution Noncommercial (3.0) license. http://dig.ccmixter.org/files/admiralbob77/61019 Ft: debbizo.I got 99 broadswords but this one isn't one (store's theme) by Komiku is licensed under a CC0 1.0 Universal License.

J-Bar-J Ranch and Bend Rotary Clubs
If you’re looking for inspiration you don’t have to look any further than the J Bar J Youth Services and the Boys Ranch in Bend Oregon. The lessons they are teaching these kids are the lessons we all need to learn, especially in these difficult times. My guess is you will walk away from this interview with something you can use in your own life.

One Rose One Connection One World
“A single rose can be my garden…a single friend, my world.” – Leo Buscaglia One gorgeous summer evening on August, President Kim Meyers along with members of the Eugene Delta Rotary Club, gave me a tour of the Owen Rose Garden. Rotarians in that Club have been building beautiful structures in this lovely rose garden, maintaining the rose bed borders and walkways, and “dead-heading” these thorny beauties. It is a place where today people can escape unsafe gatherings of the indoors and continue yoga classes, enjoy picnics, and walk among the roses; a time to stop and “smell the roses.” But I found out it is also where Rotarians create lasting friendships, gather to serve with their families in tow and share their Rotary “why.” Take a listen.

Eugene Mission and Rotary
Today were with District Governor Cindi O’Neil as she tours the Eugene Mission. This is so much more than just a homeless shelter. They have huge refrigerators and freezers. They take the excess food from restaurants and redistribute it throughout the community. They house seniors, families, children. They warehouse clothing, furniture and household goods on their seven and a half acres. This is a central hub for giving in Eugene and Rotary is a major partner in all aspects of their service.
