Today we are talking to Johnny, a British volunteer/veteran of the YPG's war on ISIS who left civilian life to become a soldier in the Kurdish militia that has been instrumental in defeating the Islamic State. After two stints on the Syrian frontlines, Johnny went to Ukraine and became an airborne Ukrainian Marine to fight Russian backed separatists in the disputed region of Donbas that has been in the throes of war since Russian forces invaded the country.
