USCX preview with John Meehan
The USA has a brand new, nationwide cyclocross series coming this Fall - the USCX. USCX was co-founded by John Meehan (you know him from the Jingle Cross Festival) and will feature 8 pro races spread across 4 race weekends. John joined me via Zoom to give us all the details about the new USCX series. Right after recording, we got some late-breaking news: the USCX will be streamed live on the GCN+ subscription service, so if you're unable to attend in person, you'll still be able to watch. Mammoth TUFF with David Sheek
I recently sat down with athlete and cycling coach David Sheek, who joined me to talk about the Mammoth TUFF, a mixed-surface endurance cycling event he co-founded with cyclocross and gravel rider Amanda Nauman. David and I met via Zoom during his training camp in Mammoth Lakes, while he was in the final decision making process on whether to attend the Unbound Gravel XL (350 miles!) in just a few weeks. We chat about the growth of gravel cycling, bike prep, handling the effects of altitude, what to carry on your bike, hydration and nutrition, and the COVID-19 protocol at the re-scheduled Mammoth TUFF, which is coming up this Fall. Great tips, especially for cyclocross riders who are used to racing for an hour, that might want to get into these day-long endurance gravel rides. We ended up talking for about an hour and a half, so I’ve pulled the highlights of our conversation into this episode. The TUFF, originally scheduled for 2020, has a new date - September 18, 2021: https://mammothtuff.com David Sheek bio: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dave-sheek-27450b64/ RideCX: https://www.RideCX.com/ Thanks for listening!

2022 Fayetteville World Championships preview with race director, Brook Watts
I chatted with race director Brook Watts to preview the cyclocross world championships coming to Fayetteville, Arkansas in January 2022. We talk about the Fayetteville course design, fan costumes, his long history as a race director, and the growth of Arkansas as a destination cycling hotbed. Because we can't meet in person at this time, this interview is a recording of an online Zoom meeting between RideCX and Brook. 2021 Ostende cyclocross World Championship preview show
Although we're in the middle of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 UCI cyclocross world championship has been approved and is moving forward as scheduled for January 30 and 31, 2021. This race promises epic battles for the world title in a course that features a huge beach sand section, plus challenging climbing on two steep flyovers. This episode previews the Ostende, Belgium course, the COVID-19 protocol that will be in place, and the favored athletes who are in podium contention. Finally, you'll get my predictions for the Elite Men, Elite Women, U23 Men, and U23 Women categories. Thanks for listening to the Inside Cyclocross podcast from RideCX!

Adding an air compressor to your home workshop
Having an air compressor in your home workshop for working on tubeless cyclocross, gravel, MTB and road tires is becoming a must. You can now get a great setup for less than $200. In this episode of the Inside Cyclocross podcast, I'll give you a shopping list to build your own air compressor setup; plus tell you how to hook it all up, test, and get your new system ready to use. For links to the Kobalt compressor, pneumatic air lines, fittings, and Prestaflator air tools described in this episode, please visit: https://www.ridecx.com/blogs/news-from-the-world-of-cyclocross/how-to-setup-a-home-air-compressor-for-use-with-tubeless-bicycle-tires Thanks for listening!

Hi, Justin here from RideCX.com and this is the trailer for my upcoming podcast, Inside Cyclocross. Cyclocross makes me happy, and I’d love to share it with you! If you’re a competitor who wants to improve, a beginner who is just starting out, a mechanic, or just a friend or fan supporting a racer in their sport, you’re in the right place. Since there’s no cyclocross racing in Southern California this year because of the pandemic I decided to use some of my spare time to bring you tech tips, how-to, race coverage, and interviews, all designed to help you be your best in cyclocross when racing does resume. I have some great stuff in the pipeline. You can subscribe right now using your favorite podcast app, and then you’ll start getting notifications when each new episode is released. While you’re waiting for those new episode alerts, hit me up on social media to talk cyclocross, my handle is @RideCX on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and I’d love to hear from you. Thanks again for listening to the Inside Cyclocross podcast, and see you soon!
