London Calling: The Great Reset
Sponsored by Bambee, Stamps.com, PS.Coach, Yellow Bear Financial Consultancy LLP Oh, to be in England now that snow has come... as it wreaks havoc on the Delingpole household. Otherwise, everything is going "Great..." as in The Great Reset, The Great Reopening... The Great Revolt. There seems to be two kind of people in the world right now, the compliant and the rebellious. You can guess where our intrepid duo slots in. And it's not in Davos. Of course nobody's in Davos this year, it's all one great big Zoom meeting. They're making decisions for 7 Billion people there. Are you watching? (Xi Jinping is here, the concert film is here.) On the culture side, James is giving a thumbs down to Raised by Wolves (HBO Max) and looking forward to Russell T. Davies' It's a Sin (Channel 4 in the UK with future release in the US on HBO and Amazon Prime in Canada). For Toby, he's recommending Homecoming with Julia Roberts (Amazon Prime) and suggests avoiding Season 3 of the Billy Bob Thornton lawyer series, Goliath. Opening sound this week is Klaus Schwab opening the Davos Conference online. The Byron York Show: Can Trump Be Tried?
Sponsored by Express VPN House Democrats will deliver to the Senate a single, hastily-passed article of impeachment against former President Trump. A trial is set to begin two weeks later, on February 9. It will be an event without precedent -- the first time in U.S. history that a former president will be tried in a court of impeachment. But does the Constitution even allow a trial for an ex-president? Democrats of course say yes, but the precedent is pretty flimsy, and there is plenty of reason to believe just the opposite. So just why do Democrats think they can go after Trump one last time? A look at a what is sure to be an impassioned, and very weird, argument. GLoP Culture: Highly Scatological (#159)
Sponsored by BetterHelp, Burrow, Kitty Poo Club The men of GLoP have some thoughts about the events at the Capitol, both the attack and the inauguration. But it's not all politics -- not by a Rob Long shot. They discuss the new version of The Stand and the Marvel TV show Wanda Vision. Also, what to Danny Thomas, George Brett, and one of our sponsors have in common? Sorry, no spoilers. Power Line: The Three Whisky Happy Hour: Dominatrix Lucretia Takes Over (#236)
By popular demand from listeners, "Lucretia" takes over hosting duties this week and gives Steve another thrashing about election fraud issues. But along the way we review the extremely ominous first 72 hours of the the Harris-Biden Administration, and conclude that the Harris-Biden presidency is going to be several notches to the left of the Obama Administration. On the never-ending question of the integrity of the November election, about which listeners weren't convinced by last week's episode with Henry Olsen, we discuss the statistical analysis of John Lott, whom Steve describes as a "level-six statistical regression ninja," along with a respectful critique from three well-qualified political scientists. The statistical fine points are difficult for a layperson to follow, leaving us . . . right where we started: circumstantial evidence is like a smoke from a gun floating in the air with no one around--we don't know who fired it, etc. Lucretia doesn't let Steve off the hook on a single point, causing still more liver damage.
