25| AI, VR, and the Future of Art with Matt Semke of Catswilleatyou
Matt Semke, the artist behind Catswilleatyou joins me on the show. Matt is an amazing multidisciplinary artist who has potentially the longest running daily art streak of any artist on the planet, with over 6000 days straight of posting his new art pieces online. He’s a VR artist, AR artist, digital artist, physical artist/painter, NFT Artist, and so much more. He works to really push the boundaries on art and tools that can be used for art. He has created his own art metaverse with I believe somewhere around 1-10% of his collection available to look at (and interact with to purchase) in an art metaverse that is like being inside one of his paintings. He has physical pieces to NFT pieces, and NFTs that he sends you physical pieces with that have AR/Animation/music elements on them. 24| On Music and Medicine with Alex Maas of The Black Angels
Alex Maas of The Black Angels joins the show The Black Angels have been my favorite band almost immediately since I heard them about a decade ago, so this was an incredible episode for me. The conversation starts off talking about the Levitation music festival and how my Indigenous Web3 organization, 400 Drums, may do some work with them to help bring some Indigenous artists and representation to the event. After the little transition, the second half of the conversation is all around music and medicine, where these can tap us into, and the source and flow of inspiration. Tamara Goddard joins us for part of the conversation around Levitation. She’s a Co-Founder of 400 Drums and CEO of Four Our Future Indigenous Economics. She’s an amazing artist from the Saulteau Nation in BC, and I definitely need to do an episode with just her in it Though we talk a bunch about Iboga and microdosing, as well as kratom, these are plants that are important to exercise caution with. Iboga has many effects on the heart and is recommended you have a EKG before going through a large dose or microdosing with iboga because of potential consequences.  Check out Episode 4 of my podcast for more info on ibogaine Directions to See a Ghost by The Black Angels just turned 15! This is a really great album to check out if you haven’t heard much of this band. And have a new album out called Wilderness of Mirrors. And remember, “The Black Angels challenge you to question authority and think for yourself”   Songs played in episode: Slip Into - Alex Maas Snake in the Grass - Black Angels Links: Levitation.fm Luca his solo album The Black Angels MIEN

23| Breath and the Alignment of the Cosmos with Kyle Espenshade
Kyle Espenshade is back for another great conversation. Kyle is a SOMA Breath Master Instructor, Healing Tao Qigong instructor, Transformational Coach, music producer, and ecstatic dance DJ, with over a decade of experience in internal alchemy arts. He is the founder of Soma Alkhemy, a syncretic system of holistic healing and transformation for the modern day spiritual seeker which combines ancient alkhemy practices from both eastern and western traditions with modern technology and scientific understanding. We talk about psychedelics but largely from an angle of what it's pointing you towards rather than just the fleeting experience itself. How you can seek further what you've been shown but through your own body rather than just the ingestion of external chemicals. We also go deep around Hermes and The Emerald Tablet, and his work he's been doing to align the body-based Eastern systems with some of the more Mind-based Western occult systems He does online sessions also! If you're interested at all, check out his website below and you can find the link to sign up. 22| Revealing the Threads that Connect Us All with Trent Stephens
Trent Stephens joins the show after another year away. I have some more episodes coming up so let’s hope I don’t have such an extended break again. Trent is many things. He lives on a somewhat self sustaining farm, studied as an eco tour guide, has worked to become essentially a self trained full stack developer, he’s working with web 3 and VR to facilitate some amazing project ideas he's had that we talk about on this episode. He’s also a Realtor, outdoorsman and survivalist, extreme sport enthusiast, a family man and more. We weave a lot of ideas in this episode, about consciousness, expectation and belief, and how to navigate this in ourselves. The later half of the show is around the intersection of education, AI and VR, some of what Trent is working on, and many other good nuggets. Unfortunately, a few seconds of audio were clipped out in a few parts from the recording program Find Trent on different platform: -@phatyfoods - Twitter -T.rex Ophora on other platforms, or Uncle Festers Nephew -Join his Continuing the Conversation discord HERE --------------------------------- You Are Two video to expand further on some ideas in the intro rant Bittensor AI Platform Auphonic AI Audio Program was used to help make Trent's mic hearable after a weird glitch Weird Studies Podcast Episode 143: On UFOs shoutout for that Henri Bergson quote in his book Matter and Memory while I was in the middle of writing that intro. Jesse Shwaluk joins me after nearly a year away from the show! After a decade of close friendship I thought it was worth getting one of our conversations out. Jesse is a massage therapist near Vancouver, BC. In this episode, we go on a deep dive on meditation and our experiences going to 10 day silent Vipassana meditation retreats. Stay tuned after the episode with Jesse, there's an extra few minutes talking about one of the worst experiences of my life, a bad trip off of a cannabis edible after coming back from my first retreat, definitely stick around to hear that. He is a Holotropic Breathwork instructor after having studied under Stan Grof and Tav Sparks. Lucas is also a Warm Data Host, training under the International Bateson Institute. They do some online sessions called 'People Need People' which he invited me to participate in and it really made me want to get him on the show. 18| War, Trauma, and Healing the Mind with Alex from DMT World
Alex the host of the DMT World Podcast joins me on the show this week. Alex is a team member at DMT World, a father, and has many projects on the go. This episode does get heavy at some points. Alex is a war veteran and we talk a lot around that, what brought him there, his own healing journey through psychedelics, and his letting go of previous mental states that held him in negative patterns. This is a really inspiring conversation so it was great being able to speak with Alex and have him be so open about his journey of what he’s had to go through to arrive at the healing he’s at, and his commitment to helping more people heal and come through their own challenges. 17| Archetypal Psychology, Living Mythology and Psychedelic Feminism with Zoe Helene
Zoe Helene joins me on the show this week.  Zoe is an artist and cultural activist who founded the environmental feminism collective, Cosmic Sister (@CosmicSister), in 2007, to advocate for women, wildlife, wilderness and wildlife, and for our natural right to work with nature’s psychedelic medicines—our “co-evolutionary allies.”  She coined the term "Psychedelic Feminism" to describe a sub-genre of feminism, and believes that a true balance of power across the gender spectrum—globally—is the only way humans (and non-humans) will survive.  In this episode we talk much around archetypal psychology looking at ancient Greek myths and understandings, and the importance of language and culture.  Zoe recommends Christine Downing for a powerful feminist view of Greek Mythology and more.  Catch her talk at MAPS Canada Lecture Series 'Examining the Psychedelic Renaissance' on Tues Nov. 24. @cosmicsister on Instagram and facebook http://www.zoehelene.com/ https://www.linktr.ee/CosmicSister

16| Re-Engaging with the Myths that Made Us with Caleb Tipple
My first repeat guest! Back from the first episode, Caleb Tipple joins me this week. Caleb is a good friend of mine I’ve known for a few years through the wonder of the internet (I said 7 years in the intro it's probably only been 5). He’s a therapist who’s been really engaged in Somatic Experiencing modalities the last few years. He’s really given me a lot of information around somatic modalities and the nature of this kind of work and I find it unbelievably fascinating. We talk a bit about Caleb's experience using Somatic modalities for himself and in his work. Much of the rest of the episode is around re-engaging with beliefs that we were brought up with, and using psychedelics as a tool to look at these ideas. We were both raised Christian and wanted to talk a bit about our experiences of letting go of previous prescribed beliefs, and re-engaging with these aspects of our life as we've matured. Caleb is able to do some work online with people, so if you’re at all interested in any of this, please reach out to him at caleb@calebtipple.com @calebconsciousness on Instagram though he doesn't use it much. Kyle is a certified SOMA Breath Instructor, helping others access their full potential and access their inner 'Soma' using the power of the breath. 10 | Ghost Dance: History, Prophecy, Pandemic, and the Redemption of Humanity with Michael Stuart Ani
Michael Stuart Ani joins me for the 10th episode! He is the author of the incredible book we talk much around called The Ghost Dance: An Untold History of the America's. He's also co-founder of the Amazonia Foundation in 1991, and has recently started the non-profit the Talking Plants Foundation, as well as another project called The Healing Garden we talk about in this episode. He's helped fight epidemics in South America, especially with the Yanomami, and is engaged in work in a similar vein with Covid 19. This conversation to me really strikes deep into the heart of what this podcast is about in a big way. Michael's story is almost like the alchemical transformation of the individual in order for the collective to go through the needed changes for life to continue. This episode is about some of the mythic history of the America's, The Ghost Dance, prophecy, and what it means for the times we're going through right now. He also dispels many myths around indigenous plant medicine use, like Maria Sabina and what she said around synthetic psilocybin.  Follow him on Facebook or Instagram for great videos about what's going on in the jungle and elsewhere Instagram: @theghostdance The Talking Plant Foundation is his non-profit The Healing Garden is his work he's doing with medicinal plants during epidemics. 09 | Outdoor Simulation with Isaiah and Jarah Dobbs
Isaiah and Jarah Dobbs join me at a nearby park for a conversation. I worked with these guys at a cannabis dispensary, and are some of the most fun people to hang out with. They also made my theme song.  I tried to make this episode really feel like a conversation that we would generally have with the mics off to really get a sense of their energy and passion that they carry with them, so be ready for lots of laughs. We talk a lot about music and the environment, bee-sting mystical experiences, working in a cannabis dispensary together, and lots more. This is a lighthearted episode but a great conversation. 06 | Using Art to Navigate Grief and Uncertainty with Heather Prost
Heather Prost joins me on the show this week. Heather is an End-of-Life Doula and Expressive Arts Therapist. This time we're all going through of Covid 19 in a lot of ways is acting like a collective trauma on us and we're having to contend with a new way to be in the world. For many this can be quite destabilizing and challenging to come to terms with.  We're collectively in some ways grieving for the lives and world we once had. But new states of being and new ways of life can come from this time if we really learn to listen to ourselves and what our needs are. Techniques with expressive arts and such that Heather talk about are essential in this time to help us process what we're feeling.
