#19 Frederick Toates - Desire, Cheating, Psychedelics and Why men send d*ck pics?
Are we born with a heterosexual desire, or do we simply end up with it? Is addiction to porn real? How may fear turn into sexual arousal? Why do men like to send d*ck pics? These are some of the topics Frederick Toates and I discussed in this podcast episode.  Frederick Toates is an Emeritus Professor of Biological Psychology at The Open University in England and Vice-President of the Open University Psychology Society. He is well known for his work on sexual desire, which he published in a book: How Sexual Desire Works: The Enigmatic Urge - a great read, dense in information and research findings from fields like psychology and neuroscience. Recently he explored why some people engage in serial killings for sexual pleasure, and in 2022 he published a book on this topic: Understanding Sexual Serial Killing.  Tune in for this in-depth, highly educative conversation and let us know your thoughts.  Support the show Join RedCheeks Academy to learn about ethical production of intimate scenes. Intro I met Doortje when she was giving a lecture at the University of Amsterdam. She spoke about sexual pleasure not being a luxury but rather a fundamental human right that everyone deserves to experience. After the lecture finished, I left craving more. I wanted to hear what else she had to say, and I knew I needed to record a podcast with her so others could enjoy her wisdom and positive attitude. #15 Cuckolding - Interviews with cuckoldress & her husband
In this two-part episode, I spoke with a couple about cuckolding. My goal with this episode is to present a different lifestyle and a relationship type that we often don’t speak about. Crystal Welch and her husband are a married cuckold couple and they have been together for 8 years. Cuckolding is a type of consensual non-monogamy, where only the woman has multiple sexual partners (called “bulls”), and the husband remains faithful. It’s a form of domination that can be expressed differently in the relationship, and most of the time, the wife is the dominant one.  The first part is with R, the husband. And in the second conversation, I speak with the wife - Crystal. Both of them agreed to the interview under the condition that their real identities are kept secret. #11 Sally F.B. - Importance of Touch, Working with Intimacy and Real Sex Scenes
Sally F.B, a screenwriter and film director, diversity consultant for film and TV. Sally has written and directed a few films for Erika Lust Production (“Tinder taxi”, “Blind(ed) date”, “Another Sex Dimension”, “Touch Crimes”, and “A road to conquer"). Her films convey important messages that the current world must see and hear. For example, “SkinHearts” talks about the importance of touch and the change in the society that lack of it creates. This short film is so up-to-date, especially during the Covid pandemic, though Sally produced this film years before the pandemic hit us. Another of her creations, “Unburied”, portrays the effects of hostile migration policies and is a visual poem dedicated to thousands of Africans that have drowned in the sea while trying to migrate to Europe. She has a unique way of perceiving the world and I am glad that she can express it through her work; the work that is in a way weird and very authentic.  Time codes:00:02:15 - Citizen of the future 00:07:50 - "SkinHearts" and predicting future ;), Importance of touch, unsuccessful Tinder dates as inspiration00:19:00 - Childhood and career path, getting the first job on a film set, overcoming perfectionism 00:50:10 - The start of an adventure with EL productions, working with intimacy on screen 00:59:25 - Challenges for real sex scenes01:18:25 - Meditation, observation of thoughts and reactions  Support the show Join RedCheeks Academy to learn about ethical production of intimate scenes. #5 Jason Domino - HIV, PrEP and The Industry
Today's podcast is the first one where a sex worker speaks in-depth on a selected topic. The person with whom I had a pleasure to talk with is Jason Domino. Jason is the sexual health and wellbeing lead for the UK Adult Professionals (UKAP) and a practising sex worker. Jason speaks from his own experience and he is very vested in and passionate about sexual health, specifically topics like HIV and PrEP. I have learned a lot from talking to him and he provided me with more information than I have gotten from anyone in the past few years on this topic. I hope you will find it useful and it will help you to ask further questions. The interview was focused around HIV prevention, function and use of PrEP and PeP, the importance of understanding different HIV tests and what is the window period, and how it works.  This podcast contains a lot of detailed information, and at the end of it, you may have more questions. For this (and many other) reasons we have opened a comment section on http://redcheeks.org/jason. #4 - Richard Lawrence
Today I am talking with Richard Lawrence, the owner and funder of Feck.com the company that runs a few different platforms with erotic media.  Richard started with an intention of humanising the idea of porn. He did not want to show it through the male gaze perspective and he thought that it would be more interesting to give a woman a camera and to let her express herself. This is how  I Shot Myself,  Beautiful Agony and I Feel Myself were created.  In today's podcast, Richard told us different stories from his personal life, and one of them stood out for me the most, and it was the story of his first kiss with the babysitter. We also talked about more serious topics like socially responsible erotica and the importance of values that the porn portraits.  I really enjoyed my conversation with Richard, and I hope you will enjoy this interview too. #3 - Abigail Williams
Abigail Wiliams, a very intelligent, good-hearted activist and sex performer, who completed her degree in anthropology and sociology. Now she works toward her PhD that talks about regulation of online pornography in the UK and how this affects the people who produce it. She gives lectures on a university and she works together with National Ugly Mugs UK - a charity that works toward ending violence against sex workers.  We talked about her personal experience as a porn performer, her attraction toward women and why it was hard at first for her to understand being attracted to anyone else than men. Abigaile talked about how she gained her first sexual experience in a threesome and how her abusive (past) relationship directed her toward porn. We dived deeper into talking about her favourite fetishes and how porn can help young people to explore their sexuality.  I also would like to note small friction that went unnoticed during the recording of this podcast. We had some sound issues and sometimes the audio may go very low, sorry for this! Likely the audio problem is only on my side, and you can hear perfectly fine everything that Abigail says, and her message is the one that is powerful and must be heard!  So If you are eager to hear from Abigail jump on this podcast and hopefully you will enjoy it as much as I did.00:04:20 - The way Abigail came up with her stage name00:06:18 - Abigaile's childhood and family 00:08:48 - Discovering her sexuality 00:10:31 - Sex education 00:15:25 - Describes her attraction toward women 00:19:40 - First sexual experience 00:23:50 - The single moment that turned Abigail toward the porn industry 00:29:10 - The first shoot experience 00:33:52 - "The conversation" 00:36:15 -  Disclosing to partners the nature of her work 00:39:00 -  The PhD thesis on an idea called legal consciousness - how people interpret and interact with the law and how this presents itself in UK BDSM porn00:42:50 - Fetishes 00:46:39 - How else we can use porn00:54:04 - Porn and sex work being stigmatised - Abigail's take on this. 01:05:36 - Advice to someone who is getting into the industry 01:07:31 - The biggest failure and the learnings 01:11:55 - Things that Abigail wished to know before working in porn 01:15:00 - "Before the shoot" rituals   Support the show Join RedCheeks Academy to learn about ethical production of intimate scenes. #2 - Garion Hall
In this podcast, I am talking with Garion Hall, the Owner and founder of abbywinters.com - the porn site that produces content of amateur models. The company goes against mainstream standards by encouraging performers to keep their natural look. Garion's story takes us on a 20 year-long journey of producing adult content.  During our conversation, we talked about the company's clearly defined standards and ethics, how the production of porn with real-life couples looks like and where are the challenges. Garion told us about 5 am police raid on his house and a stressful time when he faced the false allegations of producing underaged porn. This interview is special for me because abbywinters.com is a place where I started working 10 years ago and it was my first experience in the adult media industry. Jump on this podcast to listen to Garion's story, and I hope you are going to enjoy it as much as I did.  00:01:45 - Introduction00:16:00 – How the idea of producing porn with amateur models was born.00:22:20 – First shoot production.00:41:15 – Church and brothel.00:52:00 – Legal issue and the false accusations of producing underaged porn.00:53:20 – Moving the company overseas.00:56:15 – Visit of police on set in Amsterdam.01:14:25 – Description of work ethics within the company and Garion’s point of view on ethical porn.01:17:25 – Performers making an informed decision and how abbywinters.com ensures to provide models with factual information.01:21:00 – “Cooling-off” period as part of abbywinters.com policy for working with performers.01:32:40 – How consumers can choose ethical porn.01:41:30 – Advice to people who would like to appear in porn and/or produce it.Support the show Join RedCheeks Academy to learn about ethical production of intimate scenes.
