Could This Be The End Of Aging?
Two novel technologies showing great promise in the battle against aging. ************************************** Welcome to episode 73 recharged podcast. And this episode I'll be sharing two technologies that I find fascinating that I think that many of you will raise your eyebrows and interest as well. And this has to do with longevity and aging specifically, the premise is that ourselves and our body have a finite lifespan. They can grow and multiply and divide a certain number of times. And once they reach that limit, they often die or they can become what's called senescence, which is just basically a crippled cell limping along spreading toxins and poisons throughout the system cog in the, in the engine, if you will. And there's two treatments that are really kind of focused on that, and I'm going to share those shortly. The first, it comes from a company called Sammy med and they're based out of San Diego and they help with something called Wnt pathway. And they've done some pretty impressive research already, including human trials. And they've been shown to regrow cartilage, heal tendons, take care of wrinkles and also help with cancer. And Alzheimer's two huge, huge issues in not only the U S with the world as well. This company has been valued at $12 billion of present date, but what they are working on are regenerative medicines and these medicines, as I had mentioned earlier, help regrow tissue. So, I mean, I'm thinking about all the sports injuries that many of you have a chronic back pain, all the other things that plague us as humans. And I'm just curious if this could be a method to not only treat that, but to reverse it. The next is cytolytic medicines. As I mentioned senescence, which is just the concept of cells aging and becoming nonfunctional, basically the body's supposed to take care of these cells and get rid of them, but it doesn't always happen that way. There's a process called autophagy, which just means to eat essentially the body eating itself, taking care of the nonfunctional cells that no longer work. And we think this is probably around 50 divisions per cell, but nonetheless synthetic medicines are designed to target that and to help get rid of those senescent cells. So they're not cruising around your body causing inflammation, calcification of blood vessels, arthritis, impairing lung, lung function, et cetera. So there's a company to watch if you're just somebody who likes to follow the latest and that's called unity technology or unity biotechnology, excuse me. So anyways, I hope you found that helpful and as always hope you have a fantastic week. If you have not taken part in the Facebook group, if you can find me over there, Mitchell, M D, and we'll talk to you soon.
