Financial Flow and Abundance
In this discussion with trauma practitioner and guide Kuljit Sehmi, we discuss a topic not usually covered in spiritual circles: money and finance. We are both in the process of realigning our relationship with money and learning to make a passive income that gives us freedom to stop swapping out time for money and free ourselves from old parental patterns of money scarcity and fear. We talk about our experiences of money growing up and then how we have realigned that in different ways - Kuljit by learning Forex trading, and myself by learning crypto. So much of what we are and do is defined by fear; learning that we can play a little and model the kind of abundant life we seek to create for our clients is both smarter and more in flow to life than either the avoidance or dismissal of money. It's what it can do that makes the difference - putting it to work to create more abundance is what we're all about, particularly as women.Kuljit can be contacted on centrebalance.co.uk and I can be contacted via alchemytherapies.co.uk or patriciaworby.com

Demystifying Long Covid - a group perspective with Greenwood Holistic Health Group
In this 30 min discussion I and my colleagues from Greenwood Holistic Health Group discuss the risk factors for long covid and associated health conditions of post-viral fatigue. When we look at any state of health as along a continuum we begin to see that many factors may predispose us to illness without us necessarily showing signs of inflammatory processes - so called 'silent inflammation'. Many seemingly health people have this going on with gut issues, dry skin, back pain etc and then if they are under a lot of stress from toxins, exercise, emotional stress, etc their immune system cannot fight the virus and they end up suffering longer term symptoms. In this wide ranging group discussion we look at this from a macro (environmental/social) and micro (cellular) level and what needs to happen so that healing can complete.find us on fatigue-free.me and me individually on alchemytherapies.co.uk

Crypto journey to Financial Freedom - DAISY
Second in my series of podcasts on the financial freedom journey into crypto currency. Many people are put off investing in this as it's considered:too complicated/scarytoo volatileonly for financial whizzkids with loads of moneyIn this video I debunk some of these misconceptions and further explain the reasons why I think crypto is a democratic alternative to traditional banking and how and why I got involved.. See also my first video on the Hyperfund. In this one I focus on a crowd-funding AI platform DAISY which is currently producing good returns (30-40% p/a) on as little as a £$100 investment as purely passive income while you sleep! You don't need to do referrals or get involved with the marketing to others so prevalent in the MLM arena. With the upcoming release of a new coin (a rival to bitcoin) available to purchase at a discount, now is the time to get involved. If you are interested in finding out more go here. Right now there is extra incentive. There is a chance to buy Daisy tokens (a form of crypto currency) for just over a $1US when the public offering (ICO) will be $5 per coin with a projected growth of at least 10% per year (could be anywhere upwards from that of course - maybe even 400%). Go here to take part. You can follow this video too to find out how to do the deposit. But please use my invitation link not his as you found it first via this podcast and you will need that to take part. NB please be aware I am not a financial adviser and there are financial implications to any investment especially in crypto which is largely unregulated so please take this as educational only. If you wish to get advice please use a financial adviser or specialist crypto tax specialist. And if you are thinking why is a health podcast talking about crypto - I think financial freedom will give me the chance to create the kind of healing community /space that I have always dreamed of. Emotional AUDIT programme - a new idea for group healing
A new idea for a healing community of people recovering from chronic illness.. IFor years now, I’ve been working with people with all manner of ‘unexplained’ or 'mystery' symptoms of anxiety or chronic fatigue or pain and helping them to see that there is another approach which takes into account what happened to you in childhood. I work to help uncover the hidden trauma or attachment trauma (breaches in trust like betrayal, humiliation or just not getting the support you needed at the right time). This has profound implications for your biology not just your mental health. The Adverse Childhood Event (ACE) study of 1998 showed us trauma is common and not just the major events like war or abuse but the drip feed of not being enough/unloved or unsupported at some time in your life; so anytime where you were overwhelmed. This can happen through no fault of your parents – if your mother had post natal depression or your birth was difficult, your parents had their own bereavement or someone on the family was ill or struggling financially or maritally.I wrote a book about this in 2015 (The Scar that won’t Heal) and have been teaching this information and helping people to resolve their own ‘hidden trauma’ on a 121 basis since that time. But recently I’ve been getting various messages from people who have reached out with questions like “is there a way to work with you other than 121? or “is there a way to connect with others doing this work?” or “how can I go deeper with this content?”Up to now I’ve had little answer other than recommending my books, podcast or youtube channel but of course this is a purely individual, passive approach ...I had never considered having a space for an online community to grow together.Of course, it’s something I wanted. I had just never thought it would be possible to create..But the more I have begun to learn about the potential of online work (yes for sure propelled by the covid pandemic), the more I began to dream..I started to see a place I could create online where you could:• Realise you’re not alone in your anxiety or fear• Begin your journey to healing from trauma in a supportive environment• Join together with others to create the life you’ve always dreamed ofI can’t stop thinking about how a community dedicated to healing trauma could massively impact the health and wellbeing of so many people and who knows where it could lead us in 1, 3 or even 5 years from now? THAT’S what’s keeping me buzzing. It’s the progress people could make by working together with me in a group programme designed for that purpose – which as far as I know hasn’t been done yet.Currently, this idea is very rough around the edges. It’s not created (yet) but the vision is there. And that’s why I’d love to extend an early invitation to you. I want you to be part of this… especially if you’re willing to help me shape this idea. Join me as a Founding Member and if you're willing let's see how we can make this THE best place to support healing and reclaiming people’s lives, Join me today as a Founding member and your price will be £139 for the duration of the programme (that's 14 weeks: 7 training videos and 7 online group sessions - i.e. less than £10 per week to discuss and share). And THAT is a steal. The launch price will be £259 for the general public.. The goal is to officially launch this on 9th September 2021 but you can get involved now.Join me. Become a Founding Member. All you need to do is simply contact me on email@example.com or via my website patriciaworby.com and I will let you know payment details (I'll be setting up a paypal and stripe button on my site shortly but for now its BACS payment)Thank you. Collective Trauma - the post-covid anxiety pandemic with Carol Greenwood
The same week the Film #Thewisdomoftrauma with @GaborMate is released it feels apt to discuss #Collectivetrauma since the covid pandemic. In this 35 min discussion colleague and fellow therapist Carol Greenwood and I discuss the effect of lockdowns and restrictions on essential contact for healthy human minds and bodies. Our longing for connection is subverted and instead replaced with the idea that we need to fear eachother. This has implications for society as a whole and leads to numbing behaviours that dissociate us from our own bodies and the planet we live on.The climate crisis we are facing is thus ignored or simply pushed aside as we struggle with the signals of danger we are receiving from our bodies. We simply have no energy left to deal with the bigger picture, despite the looming crisis. But these things are not divorced from one another. Dissociated cultures do not take care of eachother or the planet. We are truly in a toxic culture as @DrGaborMate has said in his most recent book.We discuss ways in which you can heal your self and those around you by meaningful, attuned connection which helps to heal the wounds of attachment failures triggered by the isolation we have had enforced. There is hope for a new, brighter tomorrow when we come to terms with the nature of our biology as social creatures.Carol and I can be found individually on greenwood-therapies.com (welbeing coaching/ myofascial release) and alchemytherapies.co.uk (trauma therapy and massage) AND together as fatigue-free.me (multidisciplinary team approach to chronic fatigue and post-viral conditions).

A new paradigm of health - the Bio-pscyho-social Approach
In this short 10 min episode I talk about true health as being about more than the absence of disease. That a holistic view of health begins with enhancing our body's innate self-healing capacity and this must take into account our environment in the fullest sense. A bio-psycho-social view of the world looks at our relationships, meaning as well as our physiological health which communicates the state of our internal and external world to our brain via our gut (microbiome) and the autonomic nervous system. This system connects us to our world and relays information about how well we are working - it is the main connection between mind and body.An imbalanced system will create many symptoms and cause us to feel anxious or conflicted in our lives. Medicine which looks only at healing the body and ignores this vital component often fails to alleviate the pain as it doesn't consider it. In my previous talk rhr15 with Cath Finegan we applied this model to Longhaul Covid and why this is poorly treated in conventional medicine. The good news is that when this BPS model is applied to any chronic illness, recovery is achievable. The one difficulty can be in using our brains to try to 'figure out' i.e. analyse our way out of our difficulties. Since our brain is a pattern matching organ it can only use what it already knows and predicts. If this is the brain that got us where we are, we have to find a way to rewire that and the autonomic nervous system beyond our previous experience. Another stable (safe) nervous system can do this. This is why I am working on offering a membership programme to people to study and learn this material to apply to their lives. Breaking out of the necessity of working with me 1-2-1 you will join a group of like-minded people in healing their lives. This programme which I have dubbed the Emotional AUDIT Programme is a 7 step programme that aims to introduce the concepts via written, audio and video material and then apply it to to your own life with the help and support of my group calls/FAQs. I'll be launching this in Autumn 2021 so keep your eyes and ears peeled! The outline programme is here: https://www.facebook.com/PatriciaWorbyAlchemyTherapies/posts/2812598452198073

Longhaul covid: Hope for Recovery
In this 20 minute conversation with Naturopath and Nutritional Therapist Cath Finegan, we talk about the suffering caused by Longhaul Covid. We cover the statistics, symptoms, similarities to CFS/ME and the need for a multi-faceted interconnected approach to recovery. Many longterm illnesses have gut imbalance a their core. A shortage of niacin (Vitamin B3 - niacin or nicotinamide) is crucial for energy production and many people are low on this and other nutrients like Magnesium which feeds into the Krebs cycle (the energy production cycle of the body). When you supplement this, you are able to remedy the depletion which allows the body to self-heal.But it is crucial to also address the emotional stresses that have contributed massively to the tipping over into illness. Much of the stress is unconscious: toxic stress as an unconscious conflict in the life. This tends to make people push themselves beyond their body's ability to maintain their nervous system in balance and is something they haven't addressed or resolved. Emotions are more than a feeling - they also communicate messages to the body of safety or threat.Future focus has to be making a holistic (naturopathic) approach available to those with post-viral fatigue syndromes. This seeks to remove the blocks to healing rather than just suppress symptoms. A collaborative team approach also is vital as it works so much better - isolation is such a big component. Getting them out of the autonomic nervous system 'fight and flight' and into a state of flow or social engagement. Replacing nutrients (the raw materials for energy production), getting the gut working properly, dealing with toxic stress (from previous traumatic experience) allows us to replace fear with hope (you're not going mad!). Modern trauma healing allows you to tackle past emotional experience without re-traumatising people. And then the body's immune system can begin to restore and anxiety begins to diminish. Both Cath and I are Chrysalis Effect Practitioners who are trained in CFS/ME and now Post-viral fatigue recovery. If you wish to contact Cath please email on firstname.lastname@example.org.

Book Review: In an Unspoken View: How the Body releases Trauma and Restores Goodness
In this short 17 min review I look at how Peter Levine describes the body as the seat of trauma. The younger you are when this happens the more deeply this embeds along with shame. The viscerally stored messages of threat are why top down approaches (i.e talk therapy) are seldom successful in resolving trauma. This bottom up approach allows someone to connect with their body's messages without fear and just track the sensations and resolve them. Trauma is anything that overwhelms our nervous system. Shame also becomes embedded as the child believes they are the source of the problem and thus they are bad, or wrong. A pervasive sense of badness/wrongness (or even self-loathing). These procedural memories of frozen responses can cause bodily symptoms of frozen shoulder and IBS. Even if the person is functional and manages to have a reasonable life of work, raising a family, it can be a 'cardboard existence' of disconnect with their body. Learning to deal with these somatic imprints in a therapeutic environment can resolved longstanding issues that defy medical science. Thank you Peter for such a wonderful and useful book. This should be required reading for all medicine.

Cryptocurrency - a new paradigm?
Although maybe not strictly about health, this new technology is revolutionising finance and creating independence and wellbeing for many people previously disenfranchised from conventional finance. I am teaching myself about crypto-currency, Decentralised finance (#DeFi) and #blockchain as I think it is about to revolutionise everything, much like the internet has. I explain what it is and how it works and why it's important. First in an ongoing series as I begin to invest in this newest currency and/or transactional system. This is not a technical seminar - it is deliberately pitched to the newbie investor/ lay person. I even talk about my reservations: including the energy requirements to mine crypto and how I think the system needs to be improved. If you are nervous about finance, interested but fearful of this new system and the volatility (rising up and down as Bitcoin has in the last few months) then fear not! This video de-mystifies much of the terminology, machismo and general difference of this newest technology. If you wish to explore the 'investment fund'* I am involved in please use this introduction link. You need someone to refer you to buy in. Minimum 'investment' is $300 and no maximum. I have been receiving 50HU (their rewards tokens or 'dividends' roughly equivalent to $50 dollars) per day!! This is really astonishing compared to a bank which offers less than 0.1% per year. On current passive investment with compounding (I rebuy at $50 per day) I am due to get my money back in 6-7 months (even sooner if you refer but you don't have to) and thereafter I will be in profit so I can withdraw my starter (seed) sum. And that is using purely passive means (i.e. you do nothing but let it sit there - there is an option to become a referral member and that increases your rewards).*that's the nearest term I can come up with but intact it is a membership to a platform and you are rewarded with tokens (a form of cryptocurrency) which needs to be exchanged to a bank via a cryptocurrency exchange.UPDATE I was sceptical but so far (6 weeks on I am now earning $65 per day and I've had to do NO reselling/referrals - this is purely passive income based on rebuys. You will need to have a referral to join however so use this introduction link.I can be found individually on alchemytherapies.co.uk (trauma therapy and massage) AND together with my team as fatigue-free.me (multidisciplinary approach to chronic fatigue and post-viral conditions).

Towards a Natural Health Service - Discussion with ex-nurse Carol Greenwood
In this 30min discussion with ex-nurse and now holistic practitioner Carol Greenwood, we discuss the issues around the British National Health Service (NHS) being designed as an acute disease service designed for short stays and treatments which is increasingly maladapted to the current surge in chronic disease. Carol describes her experience of nursing and how her caring instincts were overwhelmed and thus eventually she had to leave the profession, as many nurses do (there is currently a 30% understaffing). We discuss the difficulties in nurse training and implementation of staffing ratios and what needs to shift for it to become truly a health service not a disease management service. She now has found a way to use her skills in the holistic therapy setting. She is a myofascial release therapist of great skill and intuition who can be contacted on greenwood-therapies.com and with myself of alchemytherapies.co.uk we now work together under the umbrella group - the Greenwood Holistic Health Group .

#14 Book Review The Orchid and the Dandelion Child
In this book review of 'The Orchid and the Dandelion: why some people struggle and how all can thrive', I discuss the wonderful work of paediatrician and researcher W Thomas Boyce, who noticed some anomalies in the Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) data that was not accounted for - individual variation in stress reactivity for some 20% of children. They made up the vast majority of children's admissions to hospital and in doctor's surgeries. And grew up to be the Highly Sensitive People (HSP's) of Elaine Aron's book of the same name. His experiences of growing up in his own family with a sensitive sister who eventually succumbed to mental illness, has prompted him to explore how it is that some 'orchid' children are unusually sensitive to their environment and how that operates. He found that cortisol was raised to much smaller inputs or changes in these children and this affected their mental and physical health in profound ways. It changes blood sugar regulation, inflammation, immunity, hormonal regulation generally and breakdown of tissues (especially teeth!) He also discusses how this works by epigenetic means and is heritable (i.e. higher stress response itself transfers down the generations despite what experiences that child has). He found an easy way to tell if a child was sensitive (not just by measuring their cortisol but by their right ear temperature which was higher than their left - presumably because their right pre-frontal cortex which is close to the inner ear are more active. This is opposite to most children.. and not something that most people know.In the final chapter he offers us 6 ways in which to help sensitive orchid children thrive which include the importance of recognising difference, attunement and creative play. This is an important and beautifully written book which compellingly details both his personal and professional view of interviewing and researching over 25 years of children's experiences of early life and how this then plays out in adulthood. It is a good update on the ACE studies although not linked to them in any formal way.He has a great TED talk here which I would also highly recommend. #5 Heat Shock Proteins and Cellular Protection - Discussion with Dr Rainer Viehweger
In this 40 min discussion Dr Viehweger explains the importance of heat shock or chaperone proteins in cellular protection - called the heat shock response (HSR). We see how these proteins protect three dimensional protein folding and therefore function when exposed to threat like viral infection or cancer for instance. In fact they were first discovered after cells were exposed to heat - hence the name - so are very important in instances of fever and other cellular threats. Proteins are the building blocks of life, being part of both the structure of membranes, organelles and even DNA transcription (reading) so without them our cells die pretty quickly. Heat shock proteins are categorised by their molecular weight and there are very many of them. One of the most significant groups to be studied are the HSP70 group. We have teamed up with other practitioners to form a virtual health group called Greenwood Holistic Health Group offering an integrated multidisciplinary approach to chronic fatigue and post-viral syndromes. (see fatigue-free.me - from March 2021) We can be contacted on email@example.com and individually at tybmas-health.co.uk (where the HSP drops can be ordered) and alchemytherapies.co.uk

#4 The Infection Game Book Review
In this book review of The Infection Game; it's an Arm's Race by Dr Sarah Myhill, I look at Dr Myhill's important thesis that microbial causes underlie many (if not all) chronic disease - something which you may not realise. This results from a reduction in natural immunity from our poor diet (high carb, nutrient depleted), intensive farming, lack of microbial diversity (from fermented foods, soil) and lack of quality sleep. There is also the fact of climate change forcing new and novel microbes to adapt to new environments and hosts. In the era of #covid this is highly relevant and prescient. Solutions according to Dr Myhill are the #paleo-ketogenic (#PK - or high fat diet), and some supplements and herbs, better sleep, light and heat therapies and protecting ourselves from electromagnetic radiation which all help our immune system to fight infections. Immunity is very energy hungry process and cannot function without the right raw materials (vitamins and minerals) which help to fuel our our energy delivery system (mitochondria, thyroid and adrenals). She likens this to a car with these as engine, accelerator, and gearbox respectively. She also talks about the importance of the #microbiome and #fermented foods. Talking about energy delivery and how to enhance it with some specific supplementation and diet changes, she outlines her framework which she calls Groundhog Basic, Acute and Chronic. In the Basic approach are:· PK diet· #Vitamin_C, · Iodine (very useful for skin infections and prevention of #breastcancer and low thyroid - and easy to skin test to see how low you are)· light and heat therapy· sufficient exercise· quality sleep (use blackout masks or curtains), switching off phones and electro-magnetic radiation during the night. In the Acute approach where we become aware of an infection, then everything as above but adding in:· #Vitamin_ D (as a mixture with K2 or Sunshine salt)· fasting (avoiding constant snacking)· improving energy delivery (glutathione, CoQ10)· detoxing· taking thyroid glandulars. Finally for Chronic infections, the systems are so depleted/ rundown you have multiple infections you need to add:· herbals (astragulus, cordyceps and rhodiola)· D-ribose· reviewing medications for side effects· maybe some antibiotics after proper testingAll in all this is an important book with some slightly annoying stylistic quirks (little inserts of somewhat irrelevant and for me slightly annoying philosophical/historical asides) - very British approach e.g. 'gobs and guts' and mentions of Latin, school experiences and chess approaches! I love her for her honesty and integrity. The content is also accurate and relevant. See Drmyhill.co.uk for her comprehensive (if slightly confusingly dense) website with more information and her other books. I can be contacted on alchemytherapies.co.uk, patriciaworby.co.uk, greenwoodholistichealth (Fb) and www.rebelhealthradio.com NB please note I am attempting to increase the quality of the recording by trialling different microphone systems with pop filters, stands or in this case a head-set microphone with noise cancelling inbuilt. #13Logosynthesis, Energy and Healing
In this 34 min video as part of my 'conversations' series, I talk to Kuljit Sehmi, a chronic pain and trauma release therapist who uses logosynthesis to help people resolve traumatic imprints that limit their lives and create physical symptoms. In this wide-ranging discussion we talk about how implicit memory of overwhelming events (anything that occurred in a time of no safety) lies in the body. When triggered by events in the current life (like an infection or accident, bereavement, etc), they set in motion a range of physical symptoms which bewilder people and even the health service profession!I asked her how she came to be doing what she does and it turns out racism and bullying were a part of her story. A former optometrist who had her own health journey through fibromyalgia, chronic arthritis and neuromas, she came to the end of the road with conventional medicine. The lack of hope that having no answers to chronic conditions engenders, when you find that the best that can be done is to manage the disease, is devastating.Kuljit determined she was going to find answers and she began to look at the emotional stresses she was under as a young mum and growing up with huge pressures to be the 'strong one' and the hidden anger that she suppressed. Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) of being from an Indian family growing up in England and subject to routine racism. The fear of those unpredictable experiences means your body never feels safe and then when you hear the message 'there is no cure' to having an illness, pain and dis-ease are often triggered as the way the body communicates with you. When you understand energy is the basis of the body (MRI's, etc rely on this), with emotions as an expression of different energy flows. And by changing the energetic imprint of past experiences by making the unconscious conscious and shining a light on it, you allow the body to restore itself.Anxiety and fear as the backdrop to some childhoods (and in fact the trauma we are going through as a society now with covid) are very traumatic experiences. When our bodies are habituated to stress then we are not safe in the world which becomes our 'normal'. Illness can therefore be a very transformative experience but only when you are wiling to let go of your old identity and embrace a new authentic one.Kuljit can be contacted on www.centrebalance.co.ukPatricia can be contacted on https://patriciaworby.com and https://www.alchemytherapies.co.uk

#12 The Roots of Healing
In this 38 min conversation with naturopathic nutritionist Janie Perry we discuss the predispositions of disease and how to overcome and heal them.Janie learn from her own experience of IBS and post viral fatigue that symptoms of chronic disease often start slowly in childhood and early adulthood, becoming more and more debilitating until a tipping point is reached whereby the body cannot repair anymore. conventional medicine then says treat the symptoms but this inevitably leads to more and more as the common drugs like antibiotics and steroids often create more gut dysbiosis (inbalance).Natural medicine has a different approach. We talk about:The root and branch model of human healththe importance of terrain ('soil'' of the gut)toxic load and how to mitigatethe links between CFS/ME and long covidhow trauma or adverse childhood events predispose you to these conditionsJanie can be contacted at https://happybean.co.uk and myself at https://alchemytherapies.co.uk, https://patriciaworby.com and my podcast rebelhealthradio.com
