You can always tell when two Nigerians are in the room with each other... In this case that happens to be me & Heather.  I was lucky enough to be joined in the studio by the amazing Heather herself and if you listen closely, that accent should tell you she be original naija babe. This one no be fake o so any nonsense we suppose skin you alive well well... Shey you understand?  Sorry. Queen's English. I forget where I am sometimes but nevertheless, Heather reminded me how fun it can be chatting it up with your fellow countryman and we had a lot of fun talking about issues so dear to her heart.  As you know, Heather is Gay and speaks openly about her sexuality and involvement in the LGBTQ community. Being a Nigerian you can tell that mix isn't befitting to the usual stereotype associated to sexuality when we talk about Nigerians and africans as a whole but Heather is an advocate in breaking down these barriers and opening the eye's of those who have formed their own misconceptions and stereotypes concerning those who identify as members of the LGBTQ community.  Behind that fun, bubbly, funny personality, Heather makes it clear that all that glitters is not gold. Having being diagnosed with Schizophrenia, her life is a little different than the average adult and her mental health is something she is openly passionate about. She uses her social media platforms to raise awareness as well as to educate those who aren't very familiar with mental health disorders like hers and how she does not let such things define who she is. I think by now there are some voices you guys are very familiar with on this podcast so it's no surprise that this person makes a well deserved return to the greatest podcast in history. We're getting older and the generation after us are catching up like crazy. Maybe a bit too fast for their own good. Firstly, Queenda making money now so shout out to her cause she gon' forget about us real soon. The corporate world got her by the collar and she loving each and every minute of it. Turns out we drink on Thursdays and not Fridays.  Tomi thinks she can fight... silly I know but the hair pulling game is her bag so if your hair just got laid I suggest you stay clear of her. Drinking on Thursdays, fighting and the Rib story. I mentioned the Rib story because it seems like women be breaking up their friendships over meat... how ironic!  That story didn't make the cut guys sorry but it taught me something very important. Competition is real within friendships and hence why we have the silent agreement... or don't we? What's love without suffering? Crazy question to ask right I know but think about it... From the origin story of the word 'Iyawo' in Yoruba which means 'Wife', I am convinced yoruba women are made with extra spice and difficulty but we love you guys regardless.  We went into the storybooks and spoke about a folklore in which a man seeks a wife but must suffer first before attaining her. This isn't the Disney story I know of but if you've watched enough Nollywood then this sounds about right. What do you make of a man having to be patient and "suffer" before marrying the woman he desires?  Perhaps this story teaches something else, but you know with Unfiltered on the podcast it's nothing but crazy takes and interesting ideas so man you might hear some funny takes on marriage this week but please don't quote us abeg!
