Interest rates - in order to off set inflation - that is the reason right? Interest rates have been historically low for a long while. I remember when I bought my first home the interest rate was 16% - to see them sub three and to have that now, incredible. Also, those same folks were also, in many cases, willing to waive their appraisal contingencies. There are also unknown items that buyers will request from home sellers, and in some cases, it takes a while and having to contact another entity to fulfill that request.If the sellers are not educated, the time may have elapsed and that creates issues with the home buyer's contractual time frames. The same applies to the home buyer on the seller's side - however, because you are a home seller, and have bought at least one home, the home buyer is viewed to be more capable of a "loss" so their rights could be viewed by some as being "more robust" in the legal system.
