Katrina Burgoyne is a country music artist originally from Australia who moved to Nashville a few years ago to chase her country music dreams. She chats about growing up there, where her love of country music came from, making the move to Nashville, overcoming the obstacles that were in her way, and of course her music including the fun, up-tempo "25 Cents in the Ashtray."

This week, we chat with rising artist Brysen O'Neil about his love for a variety of music from Journey to John Mayer and Kenny Chesney to Eric Church. Brysen grew up in Georgia which he talks about including the moment when he realized he could sing and music was going to be a focal point. Aaron and Emily each share their 10 Favorite albums of 2020 as well as some of the EPs that caught their attention. There are a few albums that made both lists but the biggest shock of the episode is which albums were #1....or rather, which one wasn't.

Jillian Cardarelli is a country music artist in Nashville who Rolling Stone named one of 10 New Country Artists You Need to Know. She talks about growing up in Massachusetts, when she knew music was her passion and what she loves most about being an artist. We discuss her most recent release "Strong" which she co-wrote with Charles Esten who also sings on the song. Jillian gives us the powerful backstory about how her mom's battle with cancer inspired her to write "Strong."

Garth Brooks is arguably the greatest country music entertainer in history. He owned the 90s in country music and brought country music to a new level, including world-wide popularity. With such an icon, it's fun to chat about what his best songs are and that's what we attempt to in this episode. His most recent book Behind the Boards Nashville pulls back the curtain on the Music Row hit-making machine that is the recording studio. The new book explores the in-depth relationships between artists and producers while revealing the compelling stories behind some of the biggest hits to come out of Music City.We talk with Jake about his background, growing up with a passion for music, and how that turned into writing books about music. Jake gives us a behind the scene glimpse into what went into the making of this fascinating book through his interviews with top Nashville producers who have worked with artists like George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, and Jason Aldean.

Raised On It is officially 2 years old! We celebrated by celebrating some of the great songs that just barely missed out on the top spot, peaking at #2. Aaron is joined by Emily, Hannah from Y100 in Green Bay, and McKenzie from Kicker FM in Auburn. The four of them each draft a 10 song roster of the best #2 songs from the 90s, 2000s, and 2010s. It's been awhile since we chatted on a podcast. We caught up on the new Old Dominion album, all the new songs from the biggest names in country, and previewed a busy month of November for new albums.

Danny McMahon has had himself a heck of a year. The artist has quickly become one of the faces of UK Country Music. He recently took home awards at the UK Country Awards for Male Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for "When I See You," and Artist of the Year. He's up for 3 more awards at the British Country Music Awards (BCMA's) which will take place on November 9th. Danny is in Nashville for a couple weeks and sat down with us to chat about the rollercoaster ride he's been on the last few years. We talk about the differences between UK Country Music and country music here in the states as well as the artists that influenced him to want to make country music for a living. Danny also takes us inside his songwriting process, specifically how important songwriting truly has become for him. This was a really fun one to record.
