Having served his community since 2013, Jeremiah has had a measurable impact on youth. By helping students achieve their goals beyond sports, he raises mental health awareness and provides financial literacy to gain scholarships. He teaches them about accountability and putting forth action. The L.E.A.D (Leaders Embracing All Dreams) has taken his company, The L.E.A.D (Leaders Embracing All Dreams), to the next level, offering it to schools and sports teams across NYC. His goal is to reach as many youths as possible, serving as a mentor and role model and inspiring student-athletes across the country.

How often do you find yourself looking back instead of looking forward? When I think about those moments, I think about drivers who drive forward while looking in the rearview mirror. Of course, this type of behavior can be problematic.

Post-pandemic, we have lots to think about. Many of us have realized that we have not been living in the moment and taking the short time we have on earth for granted. Listen to this monologue and reflect on your present moments to determine what is necessary anymore.

Since the quarantine of 2020 - 2022, many are reconsidering the way they want to live their lives. What was important before is no longer important to us now. Work-life balance matters, health matters, and the quality and experience of work matters. What will your new norm look like?

"Man can do what he wants but cannot want what he wants." So what does it mean to be authentically you? As we engage life, many of us believe that we make up our minds and choose unique paths. Yet, when we enter traffic on a Monday morning, intending to leave a little earlier, we find a million others who had the same idea and acted the same way. How original are we? How much influence do advertisements and social media have on our lives, and how much control do we have?

There is a difference in working from home versus work. The difference is absolute if you must work away from home soon. Let me share my experience and thoughts with you about the possibilities of this transition.

We are so busy working and overeating subliminal messages that we have not given ourselves enough time to withdraw from it all.

This book club was founded in 2021 with a group of men I am connected to throughout various journeys in my life. I felt a need to create an intellectual group with men of color to discuss authentic narratives that matter to us. We are growing and hope that other groups will sprout from our example. Yves Duroseau, MD, MPH is the current Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital (LHH), NS/LIJ. As Chair, Dr. Duroseau provides overall leadership of the department, with responsibility for strategic planning, development, clinical services, quality, professional performance, and medical education. Dr. Duroseau is also the Co-Chair of the Performance Improvement Coordinating Group (PICG) for Lenox Hill Hospital. The PICG is responsible for overseeing all quality initiatives for the hospital. Dr. Duroseau joins LHH from the Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he was the Director of Service in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Prior to his post at Kings County Hospital Center, Dr. Duroseau served as the Medical Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine and as an Attending Physician at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City. He has also served as a per diem physician with North-Shore LIJ since 2011. He has held several academic appointments. Most recently as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the State University of New York, and has held academic appointments with New York Medical College and New York University Medical Center. He is a Peer Reviewer for the Academic Emergency Medicine journal. He has published on his experience and successes with the use of Lean methodologies in transforming Kings County Hospital’s Emergency Department. Dr. Duroseau’s commitment to service is demonstrated through his founding of the mentorship programs, Doctors as Mentors at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Bridging the Gap at New York University and New York University Medical School, both intended to support minority students interested in or pursuing careers in medicine. He has also served in numerous hospital and academic committee roles centered on quality, information technology, philanthropy, Lean management, hospital programming, and other initiatives. Dr. Duroseau earned his medical degree and Master of Public Health degree as well as completed his residency in emergency medicine and internship in internal medicine at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C. He has completed postdoctoral research in Medical Informatics at The National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.
