Stay In Your Lane
I know you're sitting there watching Felicia down the street who DOES all the things.  She's on all the committees and does everything with all of her kids.  And you're judging her a bit and you are annoyed with her a bit.  CHECK YO SELF momma.... Why are you comparing yourself to her in the first place?  Why is she so triggering for you (what do you have inside that's  not healed or whole)?  What boundary do you need to set so that you are showing up as the best version of you and so that you can quit judging her?

Let's Stop Polarizing the Topic of Sex!
I love chatting with Olivia about sex.  She brings such a beautiful connection between sexuality, sensuality and spirituality; taking such a polarizing topic and "normalizing" it (because it SHOULD BE!!).  We hit ALL the juicy pieces of this topic today, and I'm so honored she returned for another conversation. About Olivia: "I lead women to sexual liberation so they can have vibrant, intimate relationships & steamy sex lives. As a Sex & Success Coach for entrepreneurial women, I want to show you how your sex life is DIRECTLY correlated to the success that you create and magnetize in your business. By turning yourself on - you have the power to change the trajectory of your relationship, your business, your life, and the lives of all of those you come in contact with." Where to find her: IG - https://www.instagram.com/oliviaseline - this is where she hangs out the most! The Impact of Effective Co-Parenting
One of the hardest parts of a blended family situation is co-parenting.  There are so many emotions that come into play on all sides of the coin.  It is also one of (if not THE) most important parts of blending a family.  It is CRITICAL for all of the adults to "play nice" and get along.   This conversation was so powerful, because Cara and I both wear the hats of Mom + Step-mom.  We get to bring all the perspectives! Cara Wray is a Mindset & Relationship Coach helping mothers nurture the relationship between themselves, their spouse and their children. She is a mother and step mother to 4 beautiful children and she believes your strongest beliefs become your reality. How you can connect with Cara: Free FB Community:  The Sacred Mama Co. Saving Your Sanity By Setting Boundaries
As single moms we’re ALWAYS running on empty, each day we sleep and recharge just enough to fill our metaphorical tank to about ¼ tank, just enough to get through the next day.  It’s why we are always on edge, we always feel like everything is about to unravel.  We DO all things.  We "people please" because that's the path of least resistance.  We say things like, “no, I’m fine - really.  I love doing (all the things) and honestly, letting my ex have his way - it keeps the peace and makes my life easier." BULLSHIT!!! You are people pleasing to keep the peace and it's BLOWING UP IN YOUR FACE!  You are drowning in chaos that you don't need to.  It all comes down to setting some boundaries for yourself - AND STICKING TO THEM!!!!

Another awesome conversation with an incredible human!  LOVED chatting with Ashley about the importance of honoring YOU & taking the big scary leaps, even when they don't make sense and even when they disrupt your stable + comfortable life. The Inability of Our Youth to Think for Themselves is OUR Fault As Parents
Yep - I said it!  It is quite literally part of your DNA to trust your motherly instinct and yet almost daily we seek the validation of other parents.  And, in the same breath we tell our kids, "If your friends jumped off a bridge, would you follow them?"  We tell them that their friends' opinions don't matter but that's not what we're modeling for them.  You want independent thinkers?  BE an independent thinker.

Why I'm Sick of the Term, "Self-Care"
... it's because we throw it around like a meme.  "I need a day of self-care."  "What I wouldn't give for time to do self-care."  Seriously - self-care is not a LUXURY!  While things like bubble baths, manicures, a quiet night with wine and Netflix... those things are important and I'm here for those 1111% - that is NOT self-care.  Self-care is healing old wounds, doing things DAILY that nurture ourselves.  It is just what the term says, "self-CARE".   It means feeding our minds, caring our body and nurturing our spirit.  That should not be diminished to a "special event" - it should be part of our daily practice.

The Story of How I Became a Single Mom
While the story I share here isn't a big secret, most people in my inner circle know it, it's not something I've ever shared publicly on social media (or here).  Mostly out of respect for my girls' privacy.  It wasn't until fairly recently that they even knew of some of the details.  It certainly wasn't something I wanted them reading about on Instagram or from a friend whose mom had heard it here.  So, after sharing with them and allowing them some time to start dealing with it, I figured it was time to share. Please note:  I share this simply as a way for you to inside of my world a bit and understand better the perspective I bring to the table.  This is not an attempt to vilify their dad.  I have done a lot of healing and work around my relationship with him.  And, while there are still definitely days I'd like to smack him upside the head for the choices he makes, I have completely let go of the hurt and anger. The Lessons I Learned While Moving
We all know that moving, even when it goes smoothly, is hard.  But this move that I just made was the HARDEST I've ever had!  After a little breakdown and conversation with the Universe, I figured out why.  In this episode I share with you the realization I had while driving the large moving truck.

You're NOT a Broken Family
STOP letting others define you!  We are so easy to accept other people's definitions of who we are.  If I'm more than a size 10 I'm, "Plus Size"- how come I'm not "normal size" and the smaller sizes aren't "Under Size".  Or better yet, how about it doesn't fucking matter?!?!  Just because I'm divorced doesn't mean my family is broken.  It was a hell of a lot more broken when we were married.  We let terms like this define us and we become so triggered by them.  What if we let go of all of that and just lived how we want to live by our own terms and definitions?

Elizabeth's Gift of Synesthesia
We recently discovered that my oldest daughter has the incredible gift of synesthesia.  Over the past 6-months we've spent countless hours just chatting about it because I find it so intriguing.  As a way to bring you more of me and my family, I recorded one of our conversations so you could hear a little about her, a little about synesthesia and get a little peek further inside my life.  The audio is uncut and unedited, mostly because I wanted to keep it authentic.  So, my apologies for the "lack of quality" in the audio.

Transgenerational Trauma: Healing Your Sh*t So You Don't Share It With Your Kids
One the most impactful things I've discovered over the past year is the importance of the work I do as it relates to my own kiddos.  Healing my shit has, in turn helped them to start healing theirs now while they're young.  My oldest even told me one day, "Mom, I'm so grateful to watch you do the work you're doing.  It's helping me learn all of this stuff now while I'm young instead of when I'm your age." Trans-generational (aka inter-generational) trauma is basically your power to heal the trauma of past and future generations by healing your own.  These don't always have to be BIG traumas. Melissa and I chat about the impact healing your own shit can have on your kids and how doing this work leads to sustainable healing and change in your life (rather than simply putting a band-aid over it). About Melissa: Melissa Lapides is a seasoned Psychotherapist, pleasure queen and powerful trauma healer. She has spent many years on a spiritual path seeking the most effective tools to support full healing of mind, body and spirit. She is HUGE on safety and integrity. Finding Someone to Help Raise Your Vibration, Not Just Someone to Vent to.
Wanna raise your vibration - surround yourself with people who will help you raise it.  We all have those friends we can vent to - and that is important!  But we need to be careful we're not seeking out people to simply affirm our negative feelings.  Negativity breeds more negativity.  Instead, find someone who will help you process through the sh*t while helping you increase your energy and raise your vibe.

I Know the "Secret Sauce"
You can "do" all the things:  hire a coach, meditate, visualize, gain clarity, face fears.....those are important action steps we need to take.  But the "secret sauce" that makes it all work - TRUST. We've been so programmed to trust that other people know best for us that we have quit trusting ourselves and the Divine.   We play small because we're afraid, not just of the outcome(s) and not even just of taking action - we are afraid of our own intuition.  We don't trust our own judgement, when in reality - trusting our own selves and trusting the support of the Universe is the most powerful thing we can do! Wanna connect with me on Social Media? @karihurd on all platforms :)
