What To Do When Your Marketing Is Completely Overwhelming
SEASON TWO, EPISODE ONE!! We're kicking off season two with a question I've gotten a lot and continue to get, which is" what do I do when my marketing is completely overwhelming??" We're breakin' it down in today's podcast. Ash! Help! What do I do when my marketing is completely overwhelming??I hear you, fam, so let's talk about it. The first question we have to dig into is WHY is your marketing so overwhelming. And it usually comes down to three reasons: Reason no 1: there are too many pieces of the plan! it's a lot to juggle and it's not sustainable to keep all the balls in the air! Reason no 2: you have a team to support you in your marketing...but it's still overwhelming and lots of moving pieces or reason 3: you DO NOT HAVE A PLAN and it's overwhelming because every month, every week you're starting from scratch and recreating momentum because you have zero plan.So let's break these down and get clear about what to do about each of these.

The 3 Types of Support You Need to Grow & Scale Your Service-Based Business
FOR COACHES & CREATIVES: The 3 Types of Support You Need to Grow & Scale Your Service-Based BusinessMy coaches that are listening, my creative service providers that are listening - I"m so excited about this episode because it feels like a secret key. It's a key that took me a long time to even figure out how to use and when to use it and what for -- so I'm FREAKING OUT that we're basically cracking the code on air today. So, this Key is basically the 3 different types of support you NEED to grow & scale your business as a service-based entrepreneur. So, I'm going to outline the 3 keys but FIRST, I want to make sure we're differentiating the terms "GROW" and "SCALE" because there is a huge difference.

Episode 14 - REAL Passion for Real Change in the World (The How & Why in Yo' Biz)
I believe that our companies, our businesses, are much bigger than just that. They're bigger than business, bigger than the world of entrepreneurship and business and consumerism that we're all apart of. And I want to talk about that.  I read an email from Paul Jarvis recently that talked about "passions" and being "passionate about business." I'm using "passion" with air quotes here.  Paul brought up a really interesting point about passion in the workplace. You have a lot of traditional employers that are trying to integrate and require this concept of passion in the workplace. "We want workers that are passionate about our company and values" -- ICK.  We see the same thing in the small business world - I'm super passionate about copywriting, or I love coding gorgeous websites.  BUT DO YOU? Listen, maybe you do. Maybe you enjoy your job. But enjoying something and holding passion for it are different things, and one is not required to have the other. And in entrepreneurship, I'd like to present an alternative to passion for what or how we do. Listen to the episode for the full manifesto here.  CLICK HERE to get the full show notes transcription >>

Episode 13 - WELCOME TO REBRAND, M'FRIEND!
This episode is sponsored by the Brand Builder Marketing Vault! If you're like most business owners - you know you're supposed to "market" your business. But what does that actually mean? There's one thousand things you could potentially do, but before you post your next caption, boost that fb post, redo your website, or hire out to copywriter or marketing expert -- you need a PLAN. A flexible, sustainable marketing plan that was MADE FOR YOU. And now you can make one for just $27. Check out the Brand Builder Marketing Vault today >> WASSUP FAM BAM! OMG, welcome WELCOME to the Rebel Marketing Club, formerly known as The Punk Yeah Podcast! This episode I”m going to take you into my lab and give you a peak behind the scenes of my rebrand and arm you with a potent little question you can ask yourself wehn you get stuck.  So, I have officially stepped away from and grown out of The Punk Project Email Lab. I will always always always love and cherish the name, but I could feel it was getting stale because a.) it really did not relate what I did AT ALL. OR even who I was and b.) it didn’t feel like MINE.  One of my very first business crushes was on Ash Ambirge of The Middle Finger Project, so after much toiling of my business name I settled on The Punk Project. It felt so resonate and appropriate, given that The Punk Project really was just ME rising to meet the challenge of following my inner rebel, my inner punk. And you know what? I DID. I fucking did and it made me grow so much and now I”m really stepping up and into what I love and am really fucking good at and I was ready for a name that better reflected all that. Listen to the episode to hear the full juice on the rebrand experience!Click here for the full show notes transcription >>

Episode 12 - featuring Eryn Morgan, business strategist + success coach
Welcome back! Today we are talking all about CEO schedules also-known-as a “success schedule” - essentially it’s a way to structure your time in a way that suits your needs, your personality, your creativity, and the unique way that you like to work.  So, the CEO schedule is a reflection of what's most important to us.  I value creative freedom, down time to experiment and dream, and fulfillment in client work.  That was my “Biz AFTER Success Schedule” -- But my schedule BEFORE? Packed to the brim with client work (leaving me drained instead of fulfilled), no time for dreaming, and little time for creative freedom.  As it was now, my schedule proved that I valued staying busy, I found worth in productivity, and I wasn't prioritizing my creative projects, leaving me even more drained.  That's why it's important to consistently evaluate your CEO schedule.  1 - does it reflect your values and priorities? 2 - if not, how can you make it do that? (like I value growth, so I need space to implement new ideas and work on creative projects)3 - how much time do you actually have available and how do you want to allocate that time? for this one - it's super eye opening as it helped me get really clear on how many clients I can actually serve. this not only helps you cap your capacity, but it gives you a very real sense of scarcity and helps you price accordingly. There's nothing that makes you feel more crestfallen then "booking out your time" but falling tragically short of what you needed to make that month.  Setting a CEO schedule is one way to get off that wagon of overwhelm and into a role of actual profitability.  today on the show, I'm talking with the very person that taught me not only the value in a CEO schedule, but how to actually set this up for myself - my coach + business strategist - Eryn Morgan.  Dive into the episode for Eryn's goodness! GRAB ERYN'S GENIUS HELP FOR FREE: http://erynmorgan.com/timesavingplaybook

Episode 11 - Collapse Time and Make More of It In Your Biz
Welcome back to the show! Today’s episode is kind of a culmination of things I’ve learned - definitely piggy-backing over last week’s show on my 2019 Mighty Moves (and priming you for next weeks episode - OMG, listen until the end so I can share a little teaser of what’s coming next week).  Okay, so other than just the umbrella frustration that is Marketing for most people - the #1 thing that my clients, audience, and previously ME - I used to struggle with is TIME. The pressure of time, not having enough of it. Deadlines, sleep, juggling the duality that is being an entrepreneur and...well, a human. Especially as a mom.  Time is money, and more than that -- time is a RESOURCE. We prioritize what time we are given and trade it to live in those priorities. But sometimes, we fall out of alignment -- or feel blocked by circumstance to actually live in those priorities and set our time around them.  So this episode -- probably going to be a little shorter, is going to a rapid fire episode of ways that you can COLLAPSE TIME. I frikken love that phrase - COLLAPSE time.  It’s not just “make more time” - it’s “let’s accelerate you towards your future.” like, damn. That’s way more potent - and I don’t know about youuuuu, but I’ll take that over just “making more time.” Just because I have more time, doesn’t mean I’ll prioritize it. But COLLAPSING TIME, creating a wormhole from now and jumping straight to WHAT I ACTUALLY WANT. Taking a quantum leap towards my vision. Hell yes, gimme dat.  So, without further ado - we’re going to unload this rapid-fire round up of ways you can collapse time for yourself in your business.  Click to listen to the episode!RESOURCES: learn the 9-step Moneyballer Funnel Formula process for creating powerful brand foundations and lifting your biz to Empire Status; https://www.theempirelab.com/moneyballer

Episode 10: DIY Quarterly Planning Retreat
I just got back from my OWN planning weekend. I booked a really beautiful, light-filled Airbnb just in the city (I live in a small farm town like 30 minutes north of what we consider the big city, so it was a nice distance that let me feel like I was getting away and changing my surroundings without actually needing to book airfare).  Now I got a lot done in my planning weekend, some of you were following me on my InstaStories you got to witness the progress of me checking things off my list: I recorded 4 podcast episodes, outlined and prepped 1 IGTV episode, mapped out my year of offers as they relate to my marketing campaigns and promotion schedule so I"ll know what to promo and how and when, I got my course completely outlined and figured out what homework and supplemental content I need to create, and I reviewed and refined my own buyer personas, and came up with two completely new, fully-mapped out freebies for my audience.  BO-NANANAS!  So, I've had a LOT of interest and questions and DMs on how I got all that done and just even how I structured and planned this weekend for that type of productive success. So - that's what we're talking about today! How to prep for a planning retreat like this for your own business while keeping it real simple.  You know me, I'm all about simplicity and baseline requirements. It doesn't have to be complicated to be effective and that DEFINITELY applies here.  I'm going to break this down into to two phases: phase 1 is your pre-work and non-negotiable things you MUST have foundationally BEFORE you start this weekend. If these aren't in place, you'll find you either won't get as much done OR you'll be spinning your wheels or spending time on these things rather than making actual forward progress.  Okay, then phase two will be the actual things during your weekend!  So let's hop to it, hellcats! Episode 9: 2019 Mighty Moves
January is always teeming with recaps and "Power Moves" -- have you seen those? (also please tell me you said that in your 80s announcer voice). It's where a business owner you might follow, does a recap of the top 3-5 things from last year that catapulted their business forward. It's usually as a means to inspire or guide you into taking similar actions.  I'm not hating on those - there's a handful of entrepreneurs that I really enjoy getting these from each year.  This year, I wanted to do my own -- but with a twist.  To be honest, I didn't have any "power moves" - instead, I had small shifts, unseen behaviors and work that moved me forward.  They were tiny-but-mighty moves that unglamorously moved me forward. And maybe you had these too? I'd wager to say most of us are always engaging in Might Moves - the small stuff that no one else will see us doing, but adds up to make a difference.  Listen now to my Mighty Moves of 2019.

Episode 8 - THE COST OF YOUR BRAND EXPERIENCE
Welcome back to the show! Today we’re talking about the cost of your brand experience AKA the cost of using the right or best tools. OMG, I’m sorry if I get a little ranty today but I hate when I see this. And it happens often: people in FB groups complain that something is too expensive. So they make a clunky workaround.  Or they string together a bunch of B-list software.  What ends up happening is a client experience that matches: it's a strung-together B-list client experience.  If you're selling a high-ticket offer, like in the thousands, you're going to find you're not getting repeat business. Elite clients want an elite brand experience.  If you paid the money to stay at the top-level suite at The Hilton...wouldn't you be pretty disenchanted to be led to some budget courtyard-view motel room? FUCK YEAH YOU WOULD.  Here's the other thing that's happening: you're freaking out because you're not making money. You're either not optimizing these softwares to their full potential or you're not strategic enough in getting an ROI on this stuff.  There's definitely a strategy to making this work, listen to the episode to hear what it is >> Helpful links: ~ thepunkproject.org/resources

Episode 7 - How to Know When It’s Time to Revamp, Retire, or Scale an Opt-in
In today's episode, we're talking about how to evaluate an optin, and how to know when it's time to retire, revamp, or scale something like this....PLUS a behind-the-scenes look at my OWN optin."So, my opt-in a workbook and 10-day email drip training called the Moneyballers Funnel Formula (which is a guide that walks service-based entrepreneurs into learning the 8-steps it takes to create a dead simple, but super powerful funnel using the same principles the BIG guys are using, but formatted in a way that's made for service-based biz). This opt-in has grown my list by over 200% and brought in leads that lead to closing 5 figures clients in less than 2 months. This one opt-in has been AMAZING for my business. And now....I'm retiring it. Or rather, I'm revamping and scaling it. Here's why:1 - this was a phase 1 idea to test the concept2 - I need a better way to monetize this and streamline the funnel3 - I've learned more about my buyer persona since first launching it, so my new funnel will be more tweaked to that personaTune into the rest of the episode to hear about how to audit and apply each of these three points to your own opt-ins!Helpful links: * thepunkproject.org/resources*GOING AWAY SOON* --> Moneyballer Funnel Formula 1.0, grab it while you can! thepunkproject.org/moneyballer

Episode 6 - WTF is a Funnel (& Why Do I Need One)?
I actually hate the word “marketing” - for most people, it’s a scary fuckin’ word. It represents overwhelm, stagnation, zero traction, and just something that gives them a bunch of to-dos. It’s also why I hate the word “funnel” - the connotations of the word just don’t match how useful (and simple) these guys are. So we’re gonna break it down and use some alternative language today, okay?  Funnels are what makes your process for selling and promotion repeatable and SUSTAINABLE. Here’s why (and here’s our alternative language for today) - a funnel is essentially your service pathway. It’s the pathway or steps that someone would take from discovery to booking with you. One more time: a funnel is a service pathway - simply the steps that someone would take from discovery to booking with you. That’s it. It really is that simple. So, most people have a completely manual process for this.  They are visible (which requires manual input) on social media or on stage, some avenue. And they are directly engaging with their audience, they do manual outreach and follow up and then follow up forever until you die. Just kidding, but there is a lot of follow up, a lot of chasing prospects down until they ghost or straight up say no, with a tiny percentage of people saying yes.  If that’s you, listen up: THERE’S AN EASIER WAY. Episode 5 - Batmobile of Business: The Wheel of Marketing
When we think about your business as a whole, I like to picture this really tactical, gorgeous piece of machinery. Like, so tricked out batmobile (yes, hello, I’m a boy mom and all 3 of my boys are obsessed with batman). Let’s assume that this is AWD so all the wheels work together to move the business forward. The front half of the car is front end business: so One wheel is Leads + Prospecting; the other wheel is Client Deliverables. You’ll notice these two departments both have to do with clients and really brand awareness - it’s about your own brand experience. Now, the back half of the car is your business backend - one wheel is Operations, the other wheel is Finance. You need all these wheels for the business to move forward. Today’s episode is focusing on the first half of the car - the front end, driving those wheels towards a BRAND EXPERIENCE. Now the Client Deliverables wheel is just your craft. It’s the actual thing you do and how you serve your clients and make a difference in their business and lives. What we’re talking about more specifically, is the Leads wheel.Dive into the episode to listen and learn more!Important Links: Marketing Machine Flow Chart: https://prezi.com/lxouec4e524j/marketing-machine/?utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=copyResources: https://www.thepunkproject.org/resources
