External are people, places, sounds, sights, smells, times of year, etc. Steps to managing your triggers... 1. Reclaim your mind a. Accept that you're triggered, don't fight it b. Get to a safe space c. Tell yourself things are different and be present d. Shift negative thoughts to positive ones (even if uncomfortable) 2.
