Colonoscopy, its prep and related arrangements
Dr. Kumar discusses the Colonoscopy procedure and prep. *End point of the prep should be: at least 3 watery Bowel movements, like urine, without much substance. If not so, please inform Dr. Kumar well ahead of arrival time. * There is a need to adjust Blood thinners and diabetic medications (Baby Aspirin is OK to continue). All other essential medications should be continued during the prep and the day of the procedure. Ask Dr. Kumar about individual medications. Inform him of all your allergies and prior bad experience with any meds. * You should take Clear liquids (light colored watery near transparent liquids the day of the prep and the day of the procedure upto 3 hours before arrival. NOTHING by mouth for 3 hours prior to arrival, except essential medications. * You must make arrangements to have a responsible adult accompany you at the time of discharge after the procedure. You will not be permitted to drive due to the impairment related to sedation that you will receive.
