L’amour de la vie!  Love of Life with Joan Lunden Former Host of Good Morning America, Author, Journalist and Health & Wellness Advocate
Vicki Schneps, President and Publisher, Schneps Media talks with Joan Lunden, former host of Good Morning America, Author, Journalist and Health & Wellness advocate. Joan, gives us a close-up look at her personal and professional life, shares how she used her adversity to overcome challenges such as loss, grief and divorce, and how she replaced these hurdles with love, light and resilience. Joan talks about what it was like to grow up with a father, a healer, a cancer doctor who lost his own life in a tragic car accident at only 51.  Joan’s father left her with the inspiration to learn about the atmosphere around her and the motivation to make her mark in this world. And that she did, in the 1960s, as a young woman at the age 16, Joan’s mother encouraged her to broaden her horizons as her father would have wanted her to do.  Instead of going off to UCLA or Stamford, Joan went off to study at sea and travelled around the world from NY to Spain to Portugal, Morocco, India, Japan, Singapore and Africa.    Her mother pushed her to “Expect big things out of life” and to “Hitch your wagon to a star”.   Joan finished her college education in Mexico City and went on to attain her first job at ABC in part due to her worldly experiences. Joan’s latest book “Why Did I Come into the Room, A Candid Conversation About Aging” is one of Joan’s favorite books encapsulating her journey of being a disseminator of information throughout her life with the goal of keeping people healthy.   While Joan did not follow in her father’s footsteps in becoming a doctor, she knew she could have a relatable role in sharing her insights about healthy living, cooking, exercise and managing stress that could benefit many other women who were also seeking l’amour de la vie! Joan’s latest book can be purchased on www.Joanlunden.com To hear the full podcast visit Podcasts.schnepsmedia.com or wherever you stream your podcasts. Every week as part of our Power Women Podcast Series, we will feature amazing women like Joan who are some of the smartest and strongest female leaders who are making an impact in their communities and amongst other women in New York.
