Welcome to Podcast on Repeat, a podcast about anything we put on repeat. So we’ve been gone for about a month, but we’re back with a new focus, new format, and new material. We're starting a new series, diving into what I call the "Resurgence of Blackness". This episode goes into details about the series, along with the companion articles on Medium, and the new Tumblr blog. Finally, we’re changing the focus here with Podcast on Repeat. This is a continuation of the What’s On Play series introduced in Episode 5. So What’s on Play is a weekly series touching on what’s on my iPhone. It’s not just a recap on the latest songs, though they’ll be new tracks that I’m listening. It’s more of what I’m feeling at the time. There are so many great artists out right now, and I don’t look at music as a point of time after the record has been dropped. Chancelor Bennett (born April 16, 1993), respectfully known as Chance the Rapper released what may be looked back on as a seminal artistic expression in this young rapper’s career. Chance’s third and arguably his most anticipated album, Coloring Book, (initially tentatively titled Chance 3) was released exclusively on Apple Music on May 13, 2016. Heralded as a “Hip-hop watershed” by Rollingstone, “Praiseworthy” by NPR, and smartly coined as a “clever smile of contentment” by HipHopDx; Chance delivered a soulful, uplifting, and meaningful album that will have heads bobbing all summer long.
