Too Late In Life To Transition?
Episode Thirteen of the Plastic Surgeon Podcast welcomes Brooke McNally to tell her story of undergoing a male to female transition and MTF breast augmentation with Dr. Sajan. Brooke’s transition story is unique because she did not begin her transition until she was in her forties. Brooke discusses the challenges of coming out as an adult including handling her transition in the workplace and within her well established relationships. She also discusses some of her experiences of being misgendered in public and how she overcame those obstacles. Eventually, Brooke decided to undergo MTF breast augmentation with Dr. Sajan as part of their male to female transition. Living an active lifestyle, it was important to Brooke that her breast implants not get in the way. Having a friend that had undergone the same surgery with Dr. Sajan, Brooke scheduled a consultation. Urination, Fallen Nipple and Exposed Implant
On this episode of Clinic Talk, Dr. Sajan and Sabrina discuss some more unbelievable stories from their plastic surgery clinic. First off, Dr. Sajan tells the story of a patient who kept him up for 36 hours straight after having a tummy tuck. Unable to urinate, the patient went to their local Emergency Room. The patient did not inform Dr. Sajan before surgery that she frequently experienced this problem after surgery. Sabrina and Dr. Sajan also discuss other concerns patients have called with, such as, one patient who believed their nipple fell off. The final story tells the sad circumstances of a woman who had a breast augmentation out of the country and experienced her breast implant popping out during a mammogram. Conquering Skin Death After Tummy Tuck

800cc Transgender Implants
Episode 11 of the Plastic Surgeon Podcast features Dr. Sajan’s patient, Kennedy Pridgen. Growing up in small town Virginia and the child of a pastor, Kennedy tells her story of discovering her transgender identity. From a young age, Kennedy began questioning her gender. By the time she was a teenager, she identified as openly gay. By college, Kennedy explored the drag scene. Eventually, this led to her coming to terms with her identity as a transgender woman. When she came out to her parents and it did not go well, Kennedy knew she wanted to leave Virginia. Taking an internship opportunity in Seattle, Kennedy moved across the country with little money and not knowing anyone.Kennedy wanted to medically transition, but without the ability to do so before, she began to explore her transition opportunities in Seattle. She started hormones and got to know more people in the trans community. After talking with friends, she considered MTF breast augmentation and received a recommendation to go to Dr. Sajan.She started a GoFundMe and received support from the LGBT community for her top surgery. Dr. Sajan performed her transgender breast augmentation with 800cc breast implants, the biggest possible breast implants. FTM Top Surgery

Transgender Marine
Episode Nine of the Plastic Surgeon Podcast tells the captivating story of a transgender marine, Josie Noel. Josie was assigned male at birth, but now identifies as a transgender woman. Having grown up in a religious and conservative family, Josie was unable to come out or come to terms with her identity until much later in life.At 26, after moving to Seattle from Yakima, Josie decided to join the Marine Corps. Looking back, Josie refers to this time in her life as “passive suicide”. Feeling shame due to questions about gender, Josie felt the most shame about her body during her time in the Marines. Josie served in Iraq. Once she returned to the States and after so many near death experiences, she started to come to terms with her body and transgender identity. Josie’s story is truly amazing and shows that transgender transitions are not linear. Eventually, Josie underwent male-to-female breast augmentation with Dr. Sajan.
