Coal Mining - Moving On with Gail Herman
In Episode 104 of the Planet E and Me Podcast, meet Dr. Gail Herman.  Gail worked on a project back in the early 1990s gathering the oral histories of coal miners in Garrett County, Maryland.  The project is named Coal Talk and some of the collection is available at WHILBR.  In this episode, Gail shares the stories of a couple of the miners and we also hear audio clips from the miners themselves.  We learn a bit about what was good about the mining life and what wasn't.  The show also touches on why it is important to transition from coal and to help fossil fuel based communities transition to greener economies.
