Meshach Kanyion on Healing Racism
The Rev. Meshach Kanyion is an African-American United Methodist pastor in Wyoming, Ohio, near Cincinnati. Last September, he was walking with a parishioner through a predominantly white neighborhood. After they reached the parishioner's house, the police showed up, answering a call about a "suspicious person." The police left without further incident, but being reported as a "suspicious person" was alarming and disturbing for Rev. Kanyion. He has since made a series of videos on race on his YouTube channel ("Meshach Kanyion"). In this episode, we discuss the incident and talk about what Christians can do to address racism in their communities.
