I’m truly honored to have our guest today, Mike Nowland. Mike is a leader in the learning and development industry in San Diego California. He owns his own business there and he partners with Crestcom International, a true global leader in the fields of leadership development and sales. What I love about Mike and why I’m so honored that he’s here today is he often says that his purpose in life is to help people be better, do better and live better. He’s using that intention and that purpose as he teaches other people how to be persuasive and effective leaders, communicators, managers. He has nearly 25 years of experience with companies like ResMed, Marriott International and Kisco Senior Living. He’s bringing the real deal to us today.

Today, we are really excited to have Tiffany David, a personal friend as well as a colleague, be our guest. She is the Principal and Chief People Person with Total People Management based in San Diego. Tiffany is an experienced entrepreneur and culture enthusiast. She brings decades of practical HR to organizations that want to do more than just survive the legal landscape. As a senior leader, Tiffany has developed processes and policies for the state of California, for multi-state, for global organizations to really optimize their workforce and thrive in today’s markets. She’s got over 25 years of leading teams and technology startups and construction and biotechnology and utilities, advertising. There’s a really varied balanced voice that she brings to change management organizational development. I’m so happy to have her here. Most importantly, at the end of the day what she really brings is a human touch, which is really what, at the end of the day, we’re missing in business.

Matt Spooner, VP Operations & Marketing at McDermott & Bull, is the example of what I think good leadership embodies in terms of how he embraces both the soft skills as well as the hard skills and brings all of that into what he does when he interacts with people. He leads and oversees a community of about 9,000 executive members from across the country who come to network on functional topics, on geographic, just wanting to network across different companies in the area. The other thing that he does is he really believes in giving back to the community. He spent a lifetime working in various non-profit roles, anything from the United Synagogue Youth group to the American Jewish University to the Jewish National Fund.
