Peculiar Mayhem Episode One – Underpass Mary
Peculiar Mayhem Episode One – Underpass MaryThis first episode is an adventure into the phenomenon of pareidolia. “Pareidolia is a type of apophenia, which is a more generalized term for seeing patterns in random data. Some common examples are seeing a likeness of Jesus in the clouds or an image of a man on the surface of the moon.” Princess Peculiar interviews a dear friend and internationally known singer/songwriter, Talis Kimberley. Talis has written several songs about an event in Chicago, Illinois, where the image of the Virgin Mary appeared on the wall underneath an underpass. I play both of her songs, and we have our own discussion about them and the phenomenon. You can hear more of Talis’ music here, and find many videos of her performances on You Tube. See some photographs related to pareidolia at Peculiar Mayhem’s Pinterest. Check out three of my favorite podcasts, all done by women I admire, and who have encouraged me to do this thing myself: Twisted Philly History Goes Bump InSight Podcast I’d also like to thank the unbelievable Eric Coleman for voicing the introduction to this podcast. You can find more out about him and his lovely partner in music and life at their band’s page, Cheshire Moon. Welcome to Peculiar Mayhem!
Greetings my dear friends. Peculiar Mayhem’s first episode will be up and running in just a few days. Your Faithful Podcaster, Princess Peculiar, is a duck out of the pond when it comes to websites and uploading and things of that nature. The creating? Not a problem. Recording? Easy-Peasy. Editing? Surprisingly easy to figure out. Everything related to getting it online? Bzzzzzt. I’m sorry, thank you for playing. I am muddling through, though, and I can’t wait to have it figured out and be on my way into your ears.
