SO WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ? - Trend Report 105
In this PODCAST #105 I want to do a follow up piece on the last one I did about Covid-19.Right now it’s March 23rd in 2020 Sydney Australia and all around me the air raid sirens and alarm bells are ringing, well metaphorically at least. Panic and anxiety has kicked up to an all time high. All over my Facebook feed are people making doomsday predictions pleading everyone to self isolate and hide from all human contact. It’s quite interesting to watch the mob mind emerge and how social media is playing a part. Now I am no expert in Pandemics or immunology. But I do know one thing with 100% confidence, and that is that we live in an era where you cannot rely on random members of the public to know anything or do anything sensible when they are freaked out, you cannot rely on the mainstream media, nor any Government to tell you the truth. So it is just impossible to know with any certainty what is really going on with this virus. As at today’s date March 22nd 2020 according to Johns Hopkins University more than 300,000 people have contracted the virus, and at least 12,944 have died. The world is facing an economic downturn that has not been seen since the Great Depression, as businesses send workers home and public gatherings become shut down in order to slow the virus. And we have no concrete idea of when things might start going back to normality.I know it’s hard when you are scared how you are going to keep a roof over your head or just continue to feed your family. But, just know this, the entire world is controlled by the invisible 1%. Their whole tactic is to maintain total control of everything. And that is best done when the people are freaked out and distracted so they cannot see their puppet masters who's hands are in everything. And their whole control artifice is administered by the puppet Governments of the world, the controlled media and police/military systems. And I will come back to that a little later. Our streams of hourly updates via Social media have everyone becoming instant experts on “Flattening the Curve”, “Scenario C”, “YoYo re-infections”. Never before in the history of humankind has a global pandemic been given this kind of forensic level of coverage. And it’s not just coverage through credible media sources, it is every kind of both genuine and crackpot alike through our 24/7 Social media feeds. How in hell can you really know anything? So if nothing is as it appears. How can anyone really know anything about this Covid-19 thing. Whilst the Pandemic is real, and it is lethal, and we cannot ignore it and hope that it will go away, I have my own questions about it’s random arrival. To me it is clearly  being used as much a smokescreen in much the same way as WMD's in Iraq, 9/11 and all the rest. And in that regard, it’s a cracker. Charles Darwin said “It Is Not the Strongest of the Species that Survives But those Fastest to Adapt”     If you want to want to know where your world is headed first subscribe to the FIB Platinum Content Membership. FIB’s Platinum Content Membership is a revolutionary new service that provides our members an unlimited rights free use of our extensive Content library. THE COVID-19 VIRUS, MAY BE A BLESSING FOR HUMANITY - Trend Report 104
The Corona Virus is an Awakening for human kind, and I have a weird feeling it may well end up being a great blessingI absolutely accept the extreme gravity of the coronavirus and of our prime need as a society to move hard and fast to get on top of it, with the major focus being on doing everything to protect and help those who are most vulnerable – the elderly, and those with pre-existing health conditions. And as a society we need to try and come together to try and survive the individual and economic pain that is surely ahead. But at the end of this, I have a weird prediction for you. Not only will the Covid-19 Plague end up being a blessing, but so will Donald Trump, and I will explain in detail here. Now lets start with the Covid-19 matter. One of my fellow futurists who I respect is Dutch trends forecaster Li Edelkoort and she has a provocative outlook on Covid-19, “I think we should be very grateful for the virus because it might be the reason we survive as a species.” And I tend to agree.Speaking at Design Indaba, a conference in Cape Town last week, the celebrated 69-year old design industry advisor pictured Covid-19 as a sobering force that will temper our consumerist appetites and jet-setting habits.“The virus will slow down everything,” Edelkoort notes. “We will see an arrest in the making of consumer goods. That is terrible and wonderful because we need to stop producing at such a pace. We need to change our behaviour to save the environment. It’s almost as if the virus is an amazing grace for the planet.”Our fascination for zombie apocalypse scenarios is played out weekly in our cinemas and streaming services. Climate consciousness and real change is perpetually stymied by powerful elites solely focussed on their own enrichment'World's richest 1% get 82% of the wealth', says Oxfam. And the gap continues to widen every year.So many elements of the current capitalist system have failed us. Now ironically I have a 30 year career as a marketer, but for a long time now I have believed that the blind clinging to the capitalist system was eventually going to doom our species. The endless cycle of boom and bust, wars and famine, overconsumption, climate damage, and inequities between have’s and have nots would eventually destroy both us and our planet. And to survive we were going to need urgently move to more to a new cohesive global system of resources allocation and governance. One that prioritised inclusion and global cooperation over personal greed. And in fact, the model has been well documented. It is called ‘The Resource Based Economy’.  It is the system we need to survive, and later in this Podcast I will talk a bit on it. You can read all about it at;“TheVenusProject.com”

THE ESSENTIAL GUIDE TO ADVERTISING, MARKETING & MEDIA IN THE 2020’s -Trend Report 103
In this PODCAST I want to give anyone with an interest in the fields or Media, Marketing and Advertising the chance to get a practical up to the minute guide to making sense of this fast changing landscape in 2020, and give you some of the insights and approaches that can give you that all important edge.In my 2007 book “NEXT. An Armchair Guide to Your Future”. (Available globally via Amazon books and other better sellers) I laid out just as it says on the front cover “My definitive guide on what to expect from the next 20 years. The key changes in business, technology and in life”.So it’s 2020 not quite 20 years from when I published my book, but let’s look at what I said about media. In NEXT I gave my explanation as to how how Media was changing in the online era, I called it the FIVE EYES. I wrapped my explanation as a catchy mnemonic ‘elevator summary’ of the way people’s interaction with media was about to be changed forever.EYE Won’t wait, EYE Won’t watch. EYE Won’t pay, EYE Wan’t to he heard and  EYE Want to create !And looking at today’s world in 2020 comparing my 2007 predictions, I am 100% confident in saying that I pretty much got it right, as it summed up just about every possible way that people’s interactions with media in the digital age have changed since. So if that was my take in 2007, how am I seeing things in 2020 you may ask.CHANGEWell to start with, I think it helpful to look at the forces of change that have happened. The advertising and marketing industry has been turned inside out through a successive series’ of revolutions, since the Digital revolution. Each one compounding on the effects of the previous.First it was the World wide webThe connected deviceThen it was SearchMobile phone appsUbiquitous social media broadcasting and publishing channels accessible, 27/7 by anyone with a connected deviceMedia publishing and broadcasting being democratised, as individuals and brands are now publishers and broadcastersThese days the only true sustainable competitive advantage is the ability to learn faster than everybody else. What is your daily commitment to a learning regime like ? If you don’t have one, I can assure you that you have already lost the war.Listen in and hear my full run down on all the secrets that you need to get your head around to be successful in 2020 and beyond.

THE REVERSE INSTAGRAMMER SCAM - Trend Report 102
In today’s PODCAST FIB’s Trend Report 102, I want to take a look at a fairly recent phenomenon born from the recent Influencer boom.I don’t know about you, but as a life long marketer I find this whole obsession with fabulous nobodies pretty bizarre. And it seems that not only the punters but the big brands and businesses have all chosen to swallow the blue pill to chase after Influencer Nirvana.Don’t get me wrong I’m sure there are lots of genuine people on the platform, but I think pretty much everyone knows that Instagram is rife with opportunistic “Influencers” who see an Insta-famous lifestyle as a ‘hardly working’, never ending gravy train of adulation, ass kissing and easy money. Forget Andy Warhol’s 15 minutes of fame, these guys can milk this kind of fame for ages. Nowadays you can be flush and famous for nothing other than being  famous. It’s no wonder that any Millennial opportunist with low integrity, a scam and a knowledge of the format can ‘game’ the platform. At it’s most innocent, popular and powerful Influencers post endlessly of their perfect lives, knowing how to show just enough restraint to appear faux sincere and effortlessly genuine without trying too hard. For that I give them props because I could not do it. But then there are the unabashed major frauds. Now finally the Influencer scam seems to be on the other foot as businesses have started stealing Influencers' faces, and begun using them in the marketing campaigns. Beauty brands have been seen doing it, and fast fashion sellers as we, using social media stars' images without permission and apparently there's not much the Influencers  can do about it. I read a recent article from WIRED magazine on this very stuff. If you’ve ever seen (or bought) a designer handbag or a pair of sunglasses that “fell off a truck,” you’ve seen a version of this before. The world’s largest luxury group LVMH has been in a constant attempt to get Amazon to stop allowing sellers to list counterfeits of their brands on the Ecom site. Sellers upload photos of the real products, and when people buy, the factory ships them the dodgy knock off version. The internet has made selling knockoffs a breeze, especially because vendors can just use a picture of the genuine article on the listing and the customer won’t know the difference until the inevitably plasticky and awful fake shows up on their doorstep. It’s a massive problem for intellectual property, and no-one has yet to broker a solution.Charles Darwin said “It Is Not the Strongest of the Species that Survives But those Fastest to Adapt”     If you want to want to know where your world is headed first subscribe to the FIB Platinum Content Membership. FIB’s Platinum Content Membership is a revolutionary new service that provides our members an unlimited rights free use of our extensive Content library. “TOURIST-ATION” ‘Tourism and Devastation’ A DARK SIDE OF INSTAGRAM CULTURE - Trend Report 99
In today’s PODCAST FIB’s Trend Report #99 I am going to look at one of the dark sides of Instagram and Influencer culture. And I call it “TOURIST-ATION”, and yes it’s my invented moniker, a hybridisation of ‘Tourism and Devastation’. In the Danny Boyle film "The Beach" Leonardo DiCaprio plays Richard, a 20-something, white, random American who goes to Thailand in search of a new kind of kick, to find a possibly dangerous new adventure. He drinks Cobra blood and parties his way through Bangkok, and hears rumours about a mythical secret Island and beach. A destination that is not on any maps and is the stuff of legend. So he and a young French couple set off to find the Beach with the help of a secret map obtained from Daffy (Robert Carlisle) his dead room mate. When Richard and his traveler friends find the pristine island, the commune living there in secret grant them permission to stay under the strict condition that they'll keep their beach a secret, so as to not ruin their idyllic lives with interlopers. While on a supply run to a nearby island Richard, of course, breaks their trust and tells some others about the island and the map, leading to a mess of lies, deaths, and the demise of their "perfect" community. And so  ’The Beach' gave us a clear warning about the worst of Influencer Culture, that was soon to follow. Instead of secret maps we now have Geotags and Instagram posts. The Beach's message has picked up new resonance in the age of influencer culture. The controversy around The Beach and its local environmental effects only served to foreshadow a common theme in the news today; not only did the film depict the corruption of a little-known Thai paradise, but it also led to the real-life destruction of the beach where it was filmed, and over the past few years, as content-hunters and "digital nomads" have taken over our feeds, a similar situation has played out globally in destinations that were once unspoiled. Does Instagram actually contribute a net positive to humanity or is it another Zuckerberg case of technology out of control ? Charles Darwin said “It Is Not the Strongest of the Species that Survives But those Fastest to Adapt”     If you want to want to know where your world is headed first subscribe to the FIB Platinum Content Membership. FIB’s Platinum Content Membership is a revolutionary new service that provides our members an unlimited rights free use of our extensive Content library. THE NOSTALGIA TREND EXPLAINED -Trend Report 98
Hi I’m Paul Roberts welcome to my PODCAST Channel “THE FUTURE” where I cover BREAKING TRENDS FROM AROUND THE WORLDIn our ever accelerating times, keeping ahead of the latest breaking news and trends from the world’s of fashion, music, film, art, tech, activism, is a time consuming daily challenge ? Sure the information is all out there, but it is a time consuming ordeal to scan all the necessary sources. As Darwin said survival depends on how quickly you can adapt. The future belongs to those who prepare today. In today’s PODCAST FIB’s Trend Report #98  THE NOSTALGIA TREND In this PODCAST I am going to explore the irresistible pull that the Nostalgia force has, and I am going to look at it working in two very disparate playing fields that have absolutely nothing to do with each other. That of Politics and Fashion.Firstly lets look at Politics.Make the world great again!’ thunder the prophets, the religious fanatics, despots and con men alike, they know our yearning for things to go back to the way they used to be,  to ’the good ole days’ an imagined kinder gentler time. But in reality it is more a case of people not being able to deal with the rate of change and adapt which appears to morph into their view of an unjust reality. Marketing knows the power of story telling. And so, with a paradoxical mix of pride and self-loathing, humanity tells the same story again and again, about the fallen present and a potential return to paradise past – to an idyllic golden age, the Cunningham’s and Happy Days , Confucius’s beloved Zhou dynasty, the Hindu Satya Yuga, the Garden of Eden, grandpa’s garden, grandma’s kitchen, – when we were authentic and pure, God’s children, loving families, off-the-grid, on the farm, keeping promises, respecting elders, healthy and happy – back to ‘the good old days’.Longing for the past is generally referred to as nostalgia – a gentle, tender feeling that might make these stories seem like nothing more than harmless sentimentality. But it is crucial to distinguish between wistful memories of grandma’s kitchen and belief in a prior state of cultural perfection. The latter form of nostalgia currently serves as the ideological foundation for political movements like everything from Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” to Greece’s Golden Dawn, which calls for a return to Hellenic glory via radical right wing nationalism, and ISIS, which waxes rhapsodic about a distorted Islamic golden age. Fear and insecurity is easily weaponised by power-hungry propagandists who seek to replace nuanced discourse with patriotic platitudes, and diverse ideologies with homogenous tribal nationalism: Trump, Brexit, Mao, Pol Pot, Hitler, the Ku Klux Klan notice any similarities here ?Charles Darwin said “It Is Not the Strongest of the Species that Survives But those Fastest to Adapt”     If you want to want to know where your world is headed first subscribe to the FIB Platinum Content Membership. FIB’s Platinum Content Membership is a revolutionary new service that provides our members an unlimited rights free use of our extensive Content library. HISTORY OF ITALIAN FASHION -Trend Report 96

Sure the information is all out there, but it is a time consuming ordeal to scan all the necessary sources. As Darwin said survival depends on how quickly you can adapt. The future belongs to those who prepare today. In today’s PODCAST FIB’s Trend Report #96 PODCAST - THE STORY OF ITALIAN FASHION  I’m taking a slightly different tack to my usual Trend Forecasts about the future, and instead I’m going to take a look back into history to make sense of where we are now and where we are going with Italian Fashion.  And this happens to be a timely opportunity with the 2020 Fall / Winter Milan Fashion Week that took place in Milan Feb 18th to 24thIn the last 50 years, the Italian fashion industry has given us fame, scandal, even murder, and it appears there is nothing that can sate our appetite for more. There is fashion, and then there is the truly sublime. To fully appreciate Italian fashion one needs to walk the Quadrilatero, the handful of sacred cobblestoned Milanese streets where a new pantheon of deities are worshipped, the houses of Gucci, Fendi Dolce & Gabbana, Cavalli, Tod’s et al. On these hallowed boulevards the fashion faithful from all over the world make their Haj. In just a handful of streets, one can be awestruck by the temples of Italian luxury fashion. This is not some run of the mill suburban mall this is transcendence. One time skilled artisans and humble shopkeepers have exploded into globalised corporate powerhouses equipped with formidable engines of growth. Sophisticated multinational conglomerates who have mastered the arts of manufacturing desire with their use of marketing and image in addition to that of design and craftsmanship. The global rise of Italian fashion can be traced back to the 1960’s when scores of international Jet-set dress buyers and status seekers flocked to Rome, as much for the couture designs of Valentino and Roberto Carpucci as for the search of La Dolce Vita. The jewelled island of Capri was their playground. Florence was famous for leathergoods and gold, and it didn’t hurt Florentine fortunes that Pucci and Ferragamo were Jet set must haves. In the 1970’s fashion heralded the arrival of ready-to-wear and the demand for practical masculine styled clothing that women could wear to work and Milan rose to power as Italy’s fashion epi-center. From this background rose the Italian fashion dynasties such as Armani, Gucci, Prada, Fendi and many more.Charles Darwin said “It Is Not the Strongest of the Species that Survives But those Fastest to Adapt”     If you want to want to know where your world is headed first subscribe to the FIB Platinum Content Membership. FIB’s Platinum Content Membership is a revolutionary new service that provides our members an unlimited rights free use of our extensive Content library. Using 3D printing technology, which offers incredible versatility and freedom, allows 3D manufacturers to create truly exceptional homes. As 3D printing continues to grip the world, the way we do many things is being revolutionised. Recently, 3D printing technology has begun to change the world of construction, opening up infinite possibilities for the future.A majority of the companies at the forefront of this industry are innovative startups, which are based all over the world. Countries are embracing and promoting this technology. In fact, Dubai declared that by 2030 a quarter of every new building constructed must use 3D printing technology.Non-profits, concrete companies, and architects alike are innovating new solutions to global problems while pushing the limits of technology. Even NASA has embraced 3D printing for the creation of it’s robot built dwellings on it’s Marsha Mars project. And in Australia after the recent bushfires agencies are looking into the practicality of destroyed home rebuilds using this technology, with new improved fire resistant dwellings. What do you think about 3D printed homes ?Charles Darwin said “It Is Not the Strongest of the Species that Survives But those Fastest to Adapt”     If you want to want to know where your world is headed first subscribe to the FIB Platinum Content Membership. FIB’s Platinum Content Membership is a revolutionary new service that provides our members an unlimited rights free use of our extensive Content library. IT’S GETTING HOT IN HERE, AND NO I”M NOT REFERENCING THE NELLY SONG -Trend Report #90
In today’s PODCAST FIB’s Trend Report No 90 I want to look at life just 20 years from now. Our heating planet is about to change everything you do and how you live. And these dramatic effects are less than two decades away. If you live in Europe, America, in the Northern Hemisphere or even in South America I have seen your future and it wasn’t in a movie, it’s real and it’s name is Australia.I have seen it first hand, and it’s coming to a town near you soon. Imagine twirling tornado’s of hellfire with millions and millions of square miles incinerated so extensively it makes Hiroshima look like a picnic, P2 masks, evacuation orders, climate refugees, ochre skies, warning sirens, ember storms, blood suns, fear, air purifiers and communities reduced to third-world camps. Billions of dead animals and birds bloating and rotting.Everywhere there is a brittle grief, and it may be as much for what is coming as for what is gone. Many homes will not be allowed to be rebuilt in threatened areas. Where they are allowed, they may not be affordable because of new building codes; if built, they may not be insurable. Local economies, like local ecosystems, may never recover. This is a glimpse of things to come, and it will only get worse. But don’t worry we will soon be sharing all this excitement with you. When the planet rises 1.5 degrees centigrade this is what you can expect to start happening everywhere, Global warming and climate change is about to change everything you know and it’s only two decades away.Charles Darwin said “It Is Not the Strongest of the Species that Survives But those Fastest to Adapt”     If you want to want to know where your world is headed first subscribe to the FIB Platinum Curated Content Membership. HOW YOU CAN USE PODCASTING TO HELP BUILD YOUR PERSONAL BRAND - Trend Report #93
In today’s PODCAST FIB’s Trend Report No 93 I want to look at HOW YOU CAN USE PODCASTING TO HELP BUILD YOUR PERSONAL BRANDIf you want to be successful in today’s ‘attention economy’ you need to be noticed. And it really doesn’t matter what your line of work or business is, attention is currency. Having a nicely designed website is important but alone it will not get you attention, nor will posting on Facebook, as there are 3+ Billion people currently posting on Facebook. Nor will posting on Instagram, as there are over 1 Billion posting on that platform. You need to stand out, and to do this you need a plan, or a strategy and you need to take a long term view. At my marketing agency the DESIRE GROUPE we used to have this quote on the back of our business cards.“Successful companies of the future will be the ones that have the best brands rather than best factories”. And I stand by that thought. But today, your personal brand can be one of your most powerful assets in life and business. And all the readily available Social Media platforms have given us the means to reach out and be noticed. But it is still a jungle out there with so many competing platforms and messages all vying for our limited attention. In this Trend Forecast I want to look at the Podcasting phenomenon. I want to give you a run down of how it works, why it’s a great opportunity and most importantly how you can join me and the other 550,000 active Podcasters to help build your personal brand.More people are listening to podcasts than ever before. According to Edison Research, the number of Americans who listen to a podcast each week has grown 100% over the past four years, and 67 million Americans listen to a podcast every month. There is also a lot of unexplored space in podcasting. As of 2018, there are close to 50 million YouTube channels, 440 million blogs, but just over 550,000 podcasts listed in Apple Podcasts. That means for every podcast there are 800 blogs and 90 YouTube channels, so it’s an amazingly uncluttered platform to get your message across, build and audience and develop your personal brand.Charles Darwin said “It Is Not the Strongest of the Species that Survives But those Fastest to Adapt”     If you want to want to know where your world is headed first subscribe to the FIB Platinum Content Membership. FIB’s Platinum Content Membership is a revolutionary new service that provides our members an unlimited rights free use of our extensive Content library. THE 'DEEP FAKE' PHENOMENON OF AI -Trend Report #92
In this Trend Report NO 92 - I want to examine The Deep Fake  phenomenon which is part of  trend of AI. Back in 1969, the idea of getting money from a machine in the wall was a brand new and exciting concept - instant cash! The first cash machines had a withdraw limit of $25, and the machine used to hold your card. Seems pretty primitive by today’s standard. And whilst it seemed to arrive out of nowhere, the early signs were already easily seen. But seeing this innovation a trained observer could easily see the extension of this and where it would eventually go. These signs are all around us, you just need to observe them in the right manner.Would you like to know what the next Amazon, Facebook or Apple will be ? Well I can guarantee you that there will be a new batch of world changing innovations soon to arrive, and I can also assure you that you will have never heard of them before, because the next big thing always springs from the underground, but don’t worry, I have a few clues to share with you. I have been fascinated by the so called “Next Big Thing” my entire life and as a Futurist, Trend analyst and forecaster of such things, I can say confidently that these world changing innovations occur at the right time, to address a latent unmet consumer need. Granted certain market shifts and changes often facilitate the development of these disruptions, but if you are skilled enough to read the emerging trends, and then overlap these with projections of unmet consumer needs, you will have the intersection of opportunity and practicality, when this happens you have the perfect foundations for something remarkable and world changing to emerge. Uber, AirBNB, Netflix, Smartphone to name just a few examples. My aim for this Series of Trend Predictions is to provide you a framework that attempts to decode the chaos to make sense of emerging trends and insights, and most importantly, help you understand why these trends resonate with consumers and what might be next, by showing some examples, so as to help you brainstorm for success in the next 3-5 years. In this Trend Report No 92 I will be looking at the rise of the ‘Deep Fake’  phenomenon which is a subset of the Artificial Intelligence trend. There are concerns, and there are also some opportunities.Charles Darwin said “It Is Not the Strongest of the Species that Survives But those Fastest to Adapt”     If you want to want to know where your world is headed first subscribe to the FIB Platinum Content Membership. FIB’s Platinum Content Membership is a revolutionary new service that provides our members an unlimited rights free use of our extensive Content library. MOVING TO A KINDER WORLD, ONE THAT NO LONGER USES ANIMALS FOR MEAT -Trend Report #91
In today’s PODCAST FIB’s Trend Report No 91 I want to look at one of the biggest potential game changers for the way the human race lives, and that is the possibility of ending the practice of using animals for meat.I should preface this up front, that I try my best to not eat animals. I may consume a few eggs and a modest amount of seafood but for several years now I have avoided meat as food. I am not a militant vegan, but I do empathise with them and their beliefs, as I too have a major problem with the cruel inhumane practices that run all the way through our industrial farming / production artifice, and the barbaric practice of factory breeding, fattening and slaughtering of animals  for food. Sure I could also make a strong case for the health benefits of a meat free diet, and also for the positive benefits to the planet, but to me the kicker is my aversion to the cruelty and torture of loving, feeling, fellow sentient beings. And it’s  something that turns my stomach when it comes to animals as food. And as a marketing person, I know how the meat industry tries to normalise this practice. The meat industry does it’s level best to brainwash us that the meat under the plastic wrap and fluorescent lights in our supermarkets has no resemblance to any living thing. And that it’s just food designed be eaten. It’s insidiously clever, and if you never stopped to really think about it you would just go along like the majority of the population eating animals without thinking, and never giving a thought to the suffering of the once intelligent thing you are putting in your mouth. Have you every wondered why a roast chicken has the carcass inverted, neck and feet removed. It’s because it no longer looks anything like a living animal. And why a vast amount of animal products come in sliced plastic packets. And why the animal products industry hires the best advertising minds to normalise the practice, just like our own Meat and Livestock Corporation, who every year tries to shame anyone who doesn’t eat slaughtered baby lambs as being un Australian. It works !Charles Darwin said “It Is Not the Strongest of the Species that Survives But those Fastest to Adapt”     If you want to want to know where your world is headed first subscribe to the FIB Platinum Content Membership. FIB’s Platinum Content Membership is a revolutionary new service that provides our members an unlimited rights free use of our extensive Content library. SIX STRATEGIES TO TRANSFORM YOUR PRODUCT INTO A HOT BRAND-Trend Report #89
In today’s PODCAST FIB’s Trend Report No 88 I want to look at six tactics that can help transform a common product to a Hot Brand with a loyal cult following Whether it’s a sustainably sourced beauty product, healthy, convenient snack or an ethically-minded fashion label, an innovative, meticulously designed product, in and of itself, is not enough to succeed in today’s hyper-competitive market. Success relies on more than the product you’re selling— it’s about enhancing the consumer’s way of life. It’s no secret that buying habits, customer expectations and the path to purchase have been reimagined by today’s consumer. They crave a personal connection with brands, seeking out those which support a characteristic or belief they see in themselves. A brand then becomes a personal extension of its consumers. So how do you create an aspirational brand worthy of following? 1-Stay focused on what you do best Focus your time, energy and money on what you do best—innovative, meticulously designed product. Every image, every word, every product must be reflective of the lifestyle you create. Keep your finger on the pulse of the market’s ever-changing desire—today’s consumer is loyal to the image not the brand. Don’t let employees get bogged down—endless workarounds and manual processes kill creativity. Understand your core strengths and seek strategic partnerships to outsource the rest—for some it might be creative design or marketing, others accounting and financials. 2-Be authentic3-Innovate4-Differentiation5-Optimise the customer experience 6-Build an engaged community Charles Darwin said “It Is Not the Strongest of the Species that Survives But those Fastest to Adapt”     If you want to want to know where your world is headed first subscribe to the FIB Platinum Curated Content Membership. THE BRANDS AND CREATIVE DIRECTORS THAT DEFINED THE 1990's-Trend Report #88

As Darwin said survival depends on how quickly you can adapt. The future belongs to those who prepare today. In today’s PODCAST FIB’s Trend Report No 88 I want to look back at the Brands & Creative Directors That Defined the Last DecadeGlobal Fashion Ecom Consignment Site ‘TheRealReal’ crunched the numbers and the data doesn’t lie. While creative directors seem to come and go as quickly as trends themselves, a few in particular stood out in the 2010s for bringing added value to their respective brand. Kim Jones, for one, made Dior 5.2 times more valuable, followed by Daniel Lee at Bottega Veneta and Riccardo Tisci at Burberry. The RealReal notes that Virgil Abloh made Louis Vuitton 2.6 times more valuable, coming in just behind Tisci.Throughout the 2010s we saw constant shifts in the most popular luxury brands and a push for sustainability. This gave environmentally friendly labels such as Stella McCartney 1.5 times stronger resale value. In the retrospective, The RealReal points out that the future of shopping is sustainable.See the standout metrics from The RealReal’s decade data report, including the brands with the strongest resale value, the creative directors making brands more valuable, and the top contemporary luxury brands by year.Charles Darwin said “It Is Not the Strongest of the Species that Survives But those Fastest to Adapt”     If you want to want to know where your world is headed first subscribe to the FIB Platinum Curated Content Membership. A LOOK AT YOUR GYM EXPERIENCE IN THE NEAR FUTURE-Trend Report #87
In today’s PODCAST FIB’s Trend Report No 87 I’m Going to Give You an Outline of What Your Gym Experience of the Near Future will look like. It’s going to be an Augmented Virtual Reality ride. I’m sure most of you would have seen Stationary exercise bikes at your gym, the ones with a touch pad for your workout settings and some may even feature a screen. Well imagine that dialled up by a factor of 10.And the availability of VR headsets is just the beginning. With fitness interest at an all-time high, brands are reimagining the gym experience. Expect far more innovative tech, peak social experiences, and unlikely brick-and-mortar locations. Your local gym will be tucked inside the local Woolies supermarket, perhaps just a few feet away from the produce section. There you’ll don a lightweight VR headset and pedal your way through a virtual exotic world as trackers count your every moment. When you’re done, your phone will ping you to book a massage—it’ll know exactly which muscles are aching. It’s not that far off: Today’s health-club sector offers the utmost in convenience and personalisation, in part due to AI-enabled technology. And with consumers taking a far bigger interest in health and wellness, clubs are growing faster and more innovative than ever: Gyms experienced a 50% increase in revenue in the past decade, reports the Global Wellness Institute. So what’s currently driving the gym market? And how will clubs differ in the coming years? Here are some of the business and cultural trends reshaping communal workouts:Both big box and boutique gyms are rethinking real estate, with more and more studios eyeing unlikely locations—the mall, airports, even the supermarket. And whereas they were once ignored by shopping centre landlords, they are now sought-after anchor tenants. In the past year, HIIT franchise Orangetheory partnered with Iowa-based grocery retailer Hy-Vee, while ShopRite opened a fitness studio in New Jersey. Some Whole Foods stores offer a range of workout classes on their premises, while CVS Health is testing “health hubs” where customers take a yoga class as they wait for pharmacy refills. Lululemon’s latest retail concept manages to be a restaurant, fitness centre, and smoothie bar, all rolled into one.Charles Darwin said “It Is Not the Strongest of the Species that Survives But those Fastest to Adapt”     If you want to want to know where your world is headed first subscribe to the FIB Platinum Curated Content Membership.
