Dads Will Always Be Our Heroes

Listen in as we look back at the history and significance and see where the Bonds vs Griffey family legacies are, or Manning vs. the Matthews crew. Father's Day weekend is a special event and usually centered around sports. We miss it dearly, but doesn't mean we can't celebrate our heroes, and talk about sports instead.

Change is Good for Everyone
"We gotta make a change. Its time for us as a people to start making some changes. Let's change the we eat, let's change the way we live and let's change the way we treat each other. You see the old way wasn't working so its on us, to do what we gotta do to survive."- Tupac ShakurThe great artist Tupac, spoke these words over 25 years ago. It still rings true today, and that is truly sad. This episode is a bit different. We talked about how we were going to always talk sports, but also talk about those things that may shake up your dinner conversations. It's time we stop being uncomfortable, and have these chats that may make a difference. Be it small, or only getting 1 or 2 people to open their eyes - we'll keep talking so you start hearing. Let's not wait till next week. We don't need to wait till tomorrow. Let's all start right now. Listen in as I have my first ever guests, and we get down to a lot of the things that are happening in today's world, and hopefully it opens your eyes to help promote change that is needed.

Curveballs, Cowards, & Crybabies
What are we doing if baseball does not come back? Who are we more pissed off at: the whining players who don't want 50% of their salary, to only play 50% of a season? Or, the mega-rich owners who realize that a season without fans in the stands, could actually hurt them more? This COVID pandemic has already hurt us, Joe Fan, the most and more than anything. We have players complaining about paying taxes on top of a cut salary, while 35M+ are unemployed. Baseball has gotten out of hand with the selfishness, entitled, and whining superstar on the front. As a long time baseball fan, it's becoming ridiculous and almost unbearable. If they do not resolve this, and we miss a season due to greed, cowardness or lack of communication between both parties - we are going to lose a young generation of new fans. Period. Join me as we get hot & heavy into baseball and what's happening lately with the suspended season. Shoot me a line at "Opinionated Much?" via Facebook, or on Twitter, @jsv4

Last Dance: Third Chat
Let's get caught up on the "Last Dance" docuseries, and do a quick dive into the background of the Pip vs Krause relationship. The Jordan exit into baseball, and how bad the Bulls owner played this hand and helped ruined this dynasty. Are you bored yet at home? Challenge yourself and do something to get out of your comfort zone. We discussed this briefly in the last episode, but we give you a few things to utilize and some ideas to change your approach from "taking the stairs, from taking the escalator."

NFL Offseason, NFL Off Cue
Let's chat about the NFL and their lack of vision and care for the world's issues. They seem to think they can just do whatever, carry on, and do their thing while the world is struggling. There is a way to go about things, and a way to not. Further, we need to get better as a society folks. Let's stop stressing about "home schooling" and just relax. The kids will be OK, and the world will move forward. We have to stop stressing about the little things, and slow down. Our review this episode is to stop watching Netflix, Hulu, etc., and go watch some classic movies with the kids. We take another look into the Bulls, MJ & crew docuseries from ESPN/Netflix. In this episode, we look more into the rivalry of Thomas & Jordan, and where/how it got started. We also take a quick view on the NFL off-season, what's going on and who's going where. There some things a-shaken and I'll give you my take. The update on COVID-19 is still rough to hear, but we view the losses from a monetary take in regards to the youth sports industry and beyond.

Last Dance: First Chat
"The Last Dance" docuseries has taken the sports world, given us joy and a showed us what we're all missing. During this though, it opens up so many questions regarding those dominant 90's Bulls teams, the beginnings of the making of Jordan, and a glimpse into the genius and greatness of Phil Jackson. We take a look at some of the biggest names in coaching history, from the ABA to the NBA. Is it Auerbach & his dominant Celtics teams of the 60's? How about the legendary careers of Pat Riley, Sloan and Nelson? Jackson should go down, easily - as the greatest NBA coach ever. 11 rings in 20 seasons, and had to deal with the largest personalities in the game. Take a listen and you tell me how he's not.

Miscues, Mistakes & Misfits: NFL Draft 2020 Take
The NFL Draft is watched by millions and millions of viewers, every year. It's a global marketing paradise for the NFL and the owners. But it's also the time for you to make or break your franchise, for the next 5-10 years. Do you roll the dice and try to find that "diamond in the rough" to change your franchise trajectory overnight? Or do you play the odds and add more picks to better your chances at finding solid, young, above average contributors? How you draft is going to make your team, every year. A few bad drafts can leave your team under .500 year over year, like the Bengals or Dolphins or Browns. What do you think about the 2020 1st Round after an epic virtual draft? Book Review: "Hell Bent" by Skip BaylessNever the biggest Bayless fan, his arrogance, over the top opinions to get likes...but the guy is one of my favorite authors and does not give a crap about who he makes mad. "Hell Bent" tells the inside strive with the Dallas Cowboys and the tumbling dynast during the '96 season. A definite must read for all Cowboys fans, but any sports fan will love this look into the egos, criminal nonsense and behavior of a professional football team.

How do certain teams just continue to get it wrong, where some teams have a consistent run of success? Join me in our continuation of all things draft, and let me know some of your best & worst draft picks for your team. If your team is consistently drafting in the Top 10, every single year - what changes do they make and why?

Rich Guy, Poor Guy - NFL Draft: Part I
What kind of NFL GM would you be? Do you risk it all for that one player you think will be a super start, and make an immediate impact? Or do you play the odds, and play it smart, by stock-piling picks to have a better chance at adding young, value, long-term contributors to your team? In this 1st part of our talk on the NFL Draft, we take a quick look at the draft history, some of the best picks by team, and chat a little about the changes to the draft over time. Show Review: "Ozark" vs "Tiger King"We review the two biggest shows on Netflix over the quarantine break, and rate each one on our 1-10 scale.
