OTP - #12 Recast - DJ Cinema
#TBT One of the best blend DJs ever (yeah, I said it!) DJ Cinema kicks it on the podcast and we go deep into the music industry, the art of the blend, the future of media consumption (music, movies, tv shows, news outlets), the business of DJing, making a living with music, and trains. Yeah, trains. Enjoy! Check out more at www.vimeo.com/djcinema Originally aired 11/7/14.

OTP - #11 Recast Singer/Songwriter Will Wagner
#TBT Singer/Songwriter Will Wagner of No One Says Eureka talks about the recording process of their new EP, the dismal NY Knicks, the music industry and his favorite artist, Taylor Swift. (Totally just kidding about that favorite artist part). Enjoy. Originally aired 1/9/15.

OTP - #10 Recast - Music Producer Bobby "LA" La Serra
Been slacking a little on actually posting these but I think I figured out how to schedule these posts and will actually do so! Here is a throwback episode with music producer, remixer, artist, songwriter, DJ and CEO of Strong Island Records (Strong Island Radio and StrongIsland.com), Bobby "L.A." La Serra. We kick it and talk a whole bunch about the music industry, producing, DJing, packaging and selling your finished product, the old days, the new technological advances and how to use it to your advantage. Bobby La Serra has released over 100 songs to date. Everything from Hip-Hop, Alternative Rock, Reggae & Dance. His discography includes 7 Billboard charting singles and one platinum selling release. He has worked with and for artists like Bob Marley & Richard Marley, Bounty Killa, Beenie Man, King Sporty, House Of Pain, Irene Cara, Taylor Dayne, Rob Base, Born Jamericans, K7 and more. L.A. brings a great depth of knowledge to the discussion and there is a lot to take away from here especially for artists (not just musicians) trying to make their art into a career. We then go off on a tangent about weed, mushrooms, asteroids, aliens and monkeys...naturally. Learn more and check out live shows on www.strongisland.com Originally aired 1/30/15.

OTP - #9 Recast - Author Rebecca O'donnell
While Jason is on maternity leave we don't want to totally leave you with nothing (we apologize for the last 6 weeks) so we thought we'd re-release some of the best past episodes from this podcasts first iteration. In this episode: DJ Tracktion and Erik Fox-Jackson welcome the author of "Freak: The True Story of an Insecurity Addict", Rebecca O'Donnell to the podcast. *Disclaimer: She is an abuse and rape survivor so this gets pretty graphic. We don't think our listeners are squeamish but figured we should put it out there. Our talk ventures from that to Ebola, The Iceman Richard Kuklinski, Egypt and the sphinx, the coral castle, Elisa Lam, collective memory and how it's all connected by frequencies and wavelengths. Enjoy. Oh and check out Rebecca's book, kindle and audio book here: http://www.amazon.com/Freak-True-Story-Insecurity-Addict/dp/1450280269 Originally aired 10/2/14.

OTP - #8 - Me & this crazy world
Josh and Jay go deep, until Jay starts inadvertently destroying Josh's property, but hey. They manage to get it back on track and tackle some of the craziness that goes on in the world but mostly overlooked during the course of everyday life. Private prisons, unjust laws, government spying, ethical eating and animal cruelty are just a few of the topics touched. Give yourself some points if you know the song this episode's title is in reference to.

OTP - #7 - Reality show awkwardness, in reality.
How one e-mail can make you re-evaluate your whole life and how a Ralph Waldo Emerson quote can reassure your decision. Yeah, I guess you're going to have to listen to this episode to get what any of that means.

OTP - #6 - Blurred lines
Don't worry, Blurred Lines the song isn't mentioned once. Josh and Jason start out with some gig talk and the "life hangover" which transitions to the problems we've all encountered when someone decides to be "that guy" and is it ok to eradicate that gene? This somehow transitions to what is the point of living through certain experiences if you don't actually remember them, and then what happens when we have the ability to record all our memories (I'm looking at you, social media, and Black Mirror). A small detour into hunting, a future utopia or conversely, is that possible with the current 8 billion people on the planet and then what the hell happens when we're 10, 30, 50 billion people deep. Shout-out to Frankie K Clothing on this one!

OTP - #5 - Wolves, dogs, rebels and death
Josh and Jason hit the ground running and cover everything from music, art and it's impact on culture to wolves, dogs, dna, how the way you grow up shapes your adult life, the repeating of history, the mystery of death and just missing out on eternal life. Somehow all within 90 minutes. Shout-out to Rebecca O'Donnell and her book "Freak: The True Story of an Insecurity Addict".

OTP - #4 - Technology, Names & Nutrition
I don't even know where to start. Josh and Jason end up all over the place but I think this episode can be best narrowed down to a discussion about technology, growing up with a shitty name and then finishing strong with nutrition and a shout-out to thebetteryoublog.com

OTP - #3 - For liberty and justice..
Josh and Jason ask some poignant questions about culture & society. They don't necessarily come up with any definitive answers but at least a general direction they hope it goes towards. A little music talk gets in there too. Oh and check out the OJ Simpson: Made in America documentary, might come in handy next week.

OTP - #2 - Music, dreams and doing what you love.
Josh & Jason talk about their start and dreams within the music industry and how they shifted direction to where they are now. They go pretty deep into the pitfalls to watch out for and how to hold yourself to a high standard with your own performance and translating that value to potential clients. Great episode if you are in entertainment and great episode if you aren't because the principles are transferable. Enjoy.

OTP - #1 - Episode 1, is there any hope?
Josh and Jason, one and one half jewish, kick-boxing, rolling (BJJ), stubborn, opinionated (but very fair), musicians on Long Island, New York, introduce the On Track Podcast and then do their best to stay on track. They fail, repeatedly, but that's the fun of it. The discussion goes from idiots on the internet to BLM to Trump to truth and facts and then alternative facts and boiling it all down to just being a decent human being. They also ask, perhaps the most relevant question of this particular time, is there any hope? Find out their answer or add your own in the comments. Rate us too, iTunes likes that. Thanks!
