Pastor Boyd Harrell - EP 102
BRINGING LIGHT INTO THE DARKNESSEP 102 - Pastor Boyd Harrell | Releasing 4/17/2020 at 10AM PSTBecause Pastor Boyd Harrell has allowed his past experiences to help shape his mission, inmates and recovering addicts all over the globe are being reached for Christ.  Pastor Boyd Harrell launched C.O.O.L. Ministries (Christ Over Our Life) in 2000 in Houston, Texas to help reach those who have been incarcerated and also recovering from chemical dependencies. COOL Ministry's prison outreach visits sixty thousand inmates in thirty six prisons around Texas on a regular basis. Please, let that sink in for a minute. Because of the success of the outreach, Boyd was able to start a nurturing church in Northwest Houston, which has a congregation of about one hundred people. Although COOL Ministries is twenty years old, Boyd has been preaching ever since his life was turned around twenty seven years ago. Boyd exclaims, "my recovery and my life in Christ are not anonymous". Boyd began experimenting with drugs at a very young age. He began drinking alcohol at eight years old, sniffing glue at ten, in 1969 started smoking marijuana (without a a permit, he adds:), and then at thirteen he began shooting drugs with needles. It wasn't long before he started committing crimes and eventually found himself in and out of prison four times. Boyd continues, "My parents were good people, they just didn't have a clue what was going on". His mother never gave up hope and continued praying for him over the years. In 1993 all of those prayers paid off. While in prison, horribly addicted to heroin and cocaine, and laying on a concrete floor in the city jail, Boyd surrendered his life to Jesus. Boyd, "It was a hostile and violent takeover of my life. I gave up the drinking, drugs and crime". Twenty seven years later, Boyd is still reading the word, clean and sober, and runs COOL Ministries where he uses his experience with past vices to help reach others who struggle with the same issues he did all those years ago. What an amazing testimony of what God will do if we just allow Him in. Thank you for surrendering on that jail floor all those years ago and continuing to live your life "on mission" with boldness and trust! If you struggle with addiction, depression, anxiety, or any other issues related to chemical dependency, please get in touch with Boyd and COOL Ministries - He would be thrilled to hear from you! www.coolministries.netSupport the show (https://www.onmission.tv/shop)

JJ Belous - EP 101
SAVING KIDS & INSPIRING US ALLDedicating your life to helping find a cure for childhood cancer as an adult is admirable... at 15 years old it's a miracle! And we thank God for this miracle everyday!Jordan Belous, better known to all of the kids and families she helps as "JJ", officially launched Whip Pediatric Cancer in 2015 at fifteen years old after years of helping kids with cancer. Now at twenty years old, JJ brings smiles to every kid she meets and has raised over $400,000 to help find a cure. Whip Pediatric Cancer is a 501c3 foundation dedicated to bringing awareness and raising funds to help kids beat childhood cancer. JJ's mother, Victoria Belous, was diagnosed and treated for cancer when JJ was just two years old. Victoria was treated as an adult on the pediatric floor at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York. Once Victoria finished treatment, she continued visiting the hospital and all of the kids, and of course would always bring JJ along. JJ was drawn to the kids and at the age of seven began raising money to help them. It wasn't much, but it was the thought that counted and a fire was lit that is still burning bright today. JJ is twenty years old and currently a Junior at the University of Tampa where she's majoring in Allied Health with a concentration in Physical Therapy. She has plans to one day work at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. Jay and Kara had the awesome privilege of getting to know JJ this past year while their daughter, Hunter Rose Jones, was enrolled in a cancer vaccine trial at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York. Hunter Rose is doing great (for more on Hunter Rose click here) and has become close friends with JJ and her family.JORDAN BELOUSFounder, Whip Pediatric Cancerwww.whippediatriccancer.orgSupport the show (https://www.onmission.tv/shop)
