The Hope of God pt3. Adam
As part 3 in our series, the study of Adam builds off the story of Iblis (Satan). In this segment we look deeply into the text to understand why Adam and Eve were thrown out of the Garden. What did they do, exactly, that was so terrible, so destructive and so offensive to God? Why did God respond so severely? We also want to understand how Iblis (Satan) was able to so easily deceive Adam and Eve. But most of all, we want to begin to expose you to the reality that God has a plan, - that the central message of God is one built on hope and assurance that all is not lost not matter how severe we have wronged our own souls. We can go to paradise and God has provided a way!
In the story of Adam we are forced to face the reality of our own shame. But in the midst of all this misery and pain we, perhaps for the first time, get a sense of the true goodness, and kindness of our God.
We’ll discuss;
Surat Al-Araf (7):19-27; Surat At-Taha (20) verses 115, 120-123 and Surat Al-Baqara verses 34-39.
The sin that Adam really committed when he took Iblis as an ally.
The difference between compassion and forgiveness.
The hope we can have that God has not abandoned us and consigned us a fate of eternal punishment.
