Double Trouble With The Venom Duology
With all the MCU movies coming out this year, 2 down and 2 to go, as well as a plethora of MCU Disney Plus shows, some might forget about the Sony made Venom franchise, including the fairly new release, Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Tom Hardy is back in another super hero franchise after his stint going toe-to-toe with Batman. And joining in the fray is Riz Ahmed, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Williams, and soon to be seen in the final Daniel Craig Bond swan song, Naomie Harris. So try to get the dancing Tobey Maguire out of your minds for a second and see this balance of darker storyline and strange humor for a romp of a time that may or may not exist in the MCU soon enough. Let me know what you think of the duology on social at Nick Nack Movies or Nick Nack_IC on Twitter, Tik Tok, Instagram, and Letterboxd, where you can see how I rate these two movies. Either super slam dunks or another venomous adaptation that causes carnage to the source material, let's find out together!

Should You Attend This Midnight Mass On Netflix Or Sleep Through It At Your House Manor?
You know my take on The Haunting of Hill House, you know I am sometimes crazy down on these vampire things like Castlevania and The Strain, even if neither has gotten a full on episode yet. Well Netflix and the mind behind these Haunting shows, Mike Flanagan, has given us another frightful and fun scare-tastic show, just in time for a festive October film fest. So I won't spoil too much here but you should fo watch Midnight Mass ASAP if you like thought provoking, scary, and emotionally therapeutic miniseries' that will stick with you for a while. Go do it and then let me know your take on it before the internet blots every other show out of existence with a strange fascination with Squid Game. Let me know on social at NickNack_IC or NickNackMovies on Twitter, Instagram, and Tik Tok. For the show that keeps you guessing like WandaVision and reminds you how of great the music of Neil Diamond is, go watch this show!

The Live Action Scooby Dooby Duology (Is It A Snack Of A Series Or Will It Leave You Saying Zoinks?)
It has been a few years in the making, but I am finally making that episode all about the live action Scooby-Doo movies. This episode was drawn out two years in a row in relationship to these movies being omitted from Freeform's 31 Nights of Halloween marathon for a handful of years now. And while I was proven wrong with Nightmare Before Christmas thankfully making the cut this year, there is a fair amount of odd selections or way too many airings of a few movies that are seriously cutting into Scooby Dooby Duology time. So let's dive into both Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (I'm seeing this for the first time somehow) and see how Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, Linda Cardellini, and more bring this spooky animated tv show to literal life. And most importantly, let's finally decide if these movies need to grace this Freeform film fest and determine if they belong in the same company and conversation as Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, and so many more. Let's talk about every masked monster and Scooby Snack on social at either Nick Nack Movies or Nick Nack underscore IC on Twitter, Tik Tok, Tumblr, Pinterest, YouTube, Letterboxd, and Instagram!

A Halloween Movie Marathon Palooza (Freeform's 31 Nights Of Halloween, AMC FearFest, And Welcome To The Blumhouse)
With another year comes another fall season, and that means here come all the Halloween movie marathons. We got Freeform's 31 Nights of Halloween, AMC FearFest, and the second outing of the Amazon Prime anthology film series, Welcome to the Blumhouse. While we only have a small amount of information from Blumhouse and only the first week of FearFest, we do have a full slate from Freeform, there are some odd selections, some really good ones, and some painful omissions. But get in the festive mood with your favorite sweet and get ready for some frightful fun as we kick things off early and ring in the spooky season, I mean if pumpkin spice is in season, scary cinema should be too. Let's debate all the omissions on social at either Nick Nack Movies or Nick Nack underscore IC on Twitter, Tik Tok, Tumblr, Pinterest, Letterboxd, and Instagram!

Does Shang-Chi Continue The Legend Of Marvel Into Phase 4?
The latest MCU movie has graced theaters so I stuck true to this podcast's name and went to the movies. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is the first real post Infinity Stones saga outing with the latest Spider-Man movie serving as more of an epilogue and Black Widow's solo outing being way earlier in this Marvel timeline. Simu Liu, Michelle Yeoh, Awkwafina, Ben Kingsley, and Benedict Wong both complete the arc of the Ten Rings started way back in 2008 in Iron Man and takes a new and exciting direction for magic in the MCU overall. This movie may not be available on Disney Plus, but this latest marvelous movie has some spectacular visuals and you'll have to listen to my take on the latest and possibly one of the greatest MCU villains in ages. You also won't want to miss my Letterboxd rankings for this latest entry and see where it sits in the Marvel Cinematic Universe pantheon. If you want to geek out together on the franchise, and this specific entry, hit me up on social at either Nick Nack Movies or Nick Nack underscore IC on Twitter, Tik Tok, Letterboxd, and Instagram!

Here Comes The Candymen (The Latest Theatrical Taste Of Terror)
Another week of horror movie franchises with new theater bound entries and another week of Nick Nack Goes To The Movies! Come take a journey with me from past to present, 1992-2021. This franchise is neither sugary or sweet, I don't think it is necessarily bad for your teeth, but with the scares a plenty, it might have you seeking the nearest box of Cookie Dough Bites for comfort. See the amazing cast of the first film including Tony Todd, Virginia Madesn, and Walking Dead actor, Xander Berkeley. If you wan't to skip the old school and go straight for the new school revamp, you can catch Aquaman Actor, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, WandaVision star Teyonah Parris, and of course the whole reason I made this episode, Fear the Waking Dead actor, Coleman Domingo! There are pros and cons to the movies and the franchise, but sink into your seat, and try to relax as we compare and contrast which Candyman cinematic experience takes the cake! American Horror Stories (The Anniversary Celebration Of Our First Episode!!!)
Well almost one year ago I started this podcast only a few months into the first pandemic of most of our lifetimes. I was lost looking for something to do besides go on six mile walks. While I was always into movies and TV shows, it hit me, my college roomie was making a movie podcast, and I might as well channel my inspiration and ambition into some creative outlet. So Nick Nack Goes To The Movies was born. With it too came a fun albeit startling transition to more and more outright horror. I had dabbled with it before, but during the pandemic my need to feel something, especially something with a sense of sensory overload. The American Horror Story series was just the thing I needed, and a year later, with all the ish still going on, it was time for the Hulu/FX spin-off American Horror Stories to fill the void and be the topic of choice. Santa Trejo, Billie Lourd, a Murder House revisit, and more all on this latest AHS episode before Double Feature delights our airwaves!

Disney+ Movie Roundup (Dragons and Italians)
Time to take a step away from super hero and horror things and instead make an episode for all ages. I love me some Disney things, my parents massive collection of hard plastic VHS cases all coming from Disney excluding Rugrats in Paris and some Harry Potter and Star Wars mixed in. The whole reason I got Disney+ was for nostalgia and of course The Mandalorian. But new Disney movies coming out here was a huge bonus, and while I was a bit disappointed with both Onward and live-action Mulan, Soul was closer to what I was looking for, but I was amped to finally check out both Raya and the Last Dragon and Luca. So come take a dive into some Disney fare with me to close out the summer. What was your take on Raya and Luca Find me on social and share your truth at either @NickNackMovies or NickNack_IC on Twitter, Tik Tok, Letterboxd, and Instagram!

Squading Up With The Anti-Hero DCEU Teamup Franchise, Give Us That Ayer Cut
Hooray for our first DCEU film since the onset of the pandemic that changed not only the entertainment/film industry, but all of our lives. So I went back and looked at the onset of this two-film pseudo franchise, Suicide Squad from 2016 and not to be confused with The Suicided Squad from just a week ago, and yeah, you can view them both on HBO Max or take a trip to theaters for the later. We will talk about both films including all things Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, John Cena, and more! And you know extended cut Nick simply has to talk about the proposed Ayer Cut, in the hopes that that along with the SnyderVerse will be restored and released, but if nothing else, we can enjoy a super fun recent romp and see where the DCEU stands after 10 films, and no I am not counting the Josstice League. But after the episode come to my social channels and let me know what you though of the latest R-Rated super hero romp and what you think the chances of the Ayer Cut ever being released! Love & Basketball, Pumped Up And Welcome Back To The Space Jams
Besides trying something new with a brand new Monday release date for new Nick Nack Goes To The Movies episodes after hitting 50 released podcast shows last week, I could not stop there. So we also took a break away from horror and super hero things. So I have been putting this off for a bit, but I took to one of the latest HBO Max/theater releases. I grew up with and loved the original Space Jam as a kid, and I was mad nervous with the trailers for Space Jam: A New Legacy. But with the basketball duology available in its entirety on HBO Max, I finally took the plunge before the sequel disappears from streaming services on August 16th. So let's find out if the original still stands up and if the sequel can keep its head in the game and more importantly, see if LeBron James can continue the legacy left by Michael Jordan. After the episode take a trip to my Letterboxd and see how I ranked the two films, and you can find me on social at either @NickNackMovies or NickNack_IC on Twitter, Tik Tok, and Instagram!

Should You Take A Trip Down To Fear Street? (The Latest Netflx Horror Trilogy)
Slasher Summer is still going strong on Nick Nack Goes To The Movies, and while I didn't know how good or how bad the R.L. Stine adaptation was going to be, I knew I would end up talking about it on this podcast one way or another. Scream-like 90's horror, slasher summer camp, and...the third movie. After seeing that first one I was hooked for my weekly slasher movie. So if you have not yet taken the weekly forays down to Fear Street, you can binge through all three parts spanning multiple decades in one day or one weekend on Netflix. So what are you waiting for, go do that and come on back down to get my takes on all three parts and some surprisingly challenging rankings for a list consisting of just 3 movie. Nick Nack New To Theaters - F9: The Fast Saga And The Forever Purge
New movies aplenty in this latest episode of Nick Nack Goes to the Movies. The action packed automobile romp, F9: The Fast Saga, as well as the latest Purge-a-palooza, The Forever Purge. Both of these films clearly fall into the comfort food viewing category of their genres, but with all we have been through in 2020 and 2021, we all could use the tater tot equivalent of films to turn your brain off a bit, and enjoy either rocket cars and tank flips or a free advert for Party City Halloween shopping and a lighter version of the messaging from Lovecraft Country, Them, and AHS: Cult. This is also the fist movie we drop some Letterboxd reviews, it's a best out of 5 star system, but if you are an ImDb-er like me, you will still feel pretty right at home. So get back to the movies if you feel safe doing such, and come back to some brand new movie action on this pop-culture podcast! So if you caught either The Forever Purge or F9, what did you think? Conjuring Up Some Scares (Katie Made Me Do It) Part 2
If you love the scares that Nick Nack Goes to the Movies continues to bring into your headphones or speakers, here is the conclusion of our Conjuring collection with Katie. In the second longest episode we've ever done, dive into the second half of these movies including the worst in the franchise, sort of, one of my surprise favorite doll movies, as well as 2 of the 3 Conjuring films including The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It available in theaters and on HBO Max until the 4th of July! And not only do we have the highs and lows of this franchise, but Katie and I butt heads on the most polarizing fandom of one of these movies. The fun and scares don't stop this episode, thankfully nothing ever showed up in my dimly lit hallway while recording this. And we really are conjuring up some horror when we dive into our 8 film franchise lists. So buckle up and turn on all the lights in your abode for one more week until we give you a vacation from the scares as summer vacation kicks in. What was your favorite of The Conjuring Franchise and why was it not The Curse of La Llorona? Hit me up on social at either @NickNackMovies or @NickNack_IC on either Tik Tok, Instagram, or Twitter!

Conjuring Up Some Scares (Katie Made Me Do It) Part 1
This podcast, Nick Nack Goes to the Movies, we finally went to the movies, and now we had our first guest in ages. Katie joined the pod and brought along with her one of the scariest franchise I dared to watch. With the latest and, well maybe not greatest, but newest to be sure, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It available in theaters and on HBO Max. You could say, Katie made me do this. We talked over three hours about this 8 film franchise, and we simply had to break this super sized content review up into a two-parter. With the chronological watch, we ended up tackling some of the stranger spinoffs, but thankfully this episode does tackle the first and most important first film that kicked off the franchise coming out all the way back in 2013 with some amazing actors in Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. So listen to Katie and I talk about all our brand new traumas of scary nuns and dolls, and a bit of mixed in heartwarming family storytelling. What was your favorite Conjuring movie? A Quiet Place, A Quieter Place, And The Silent Slasher Cinema Subgenre
While I am still working to get back to finishing our Walking Dead and Marvel Cinematic Universe episodes, this episode commemorates a huge milestone. This podcast, Nick Nack Goes to the Movies, finally had yours truly go to the movies. The last movie I went to prior to this was in February 2020 for that Harley Quinn movie. But today I can clearly say that your favorite host finally got back to the movies. The popcorn, the carpet, the cupholders, the Maria Menounos, the movies. And this episode is all about post-apocalyptic films where you either gotta be mad quiet or stop looking at things in honor of A Quiet Place Part 2. Besides this, we have the previous film in the franchise as well as Bird Box and The Silence. So join me in new movie action, and don't talk to loud, proper movie etiquette and all that, and get lost in the franchise that carved out a new horror/thriller sub-genre. What is your favorite Quiet Place movie, or maybe you like Bird Box and John Malkovich more? Is This A Nightmare? Am I On Elm Street? Watching A Franchise I Said I Never Would!
This is your slight break fro the MCU deep dive. The podcast for horror/slasher content is back to brining that genre which founded this movie, tv, and pop culture podcast. While the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise and Freddy Krueger never really sparked my interest, my lack of sleep, increased bad dreams, and almost the entire franchise being available on HBO Max, the starts aligned and I had to finally take the plunge and make this episode. I also needed to get into a new slasher series, this always provides some sweet solace from that stress. While my overall abbreviated take is this is a super up and down franchise, especially with varying quality of each individual entry, come join me on this journey to see if this franchise is a dream come true or a true nightmare. What is your favorite of the Freddy films? Let me know on social at either @NickNackMovies or @NickNack_IC on Tik Tok, Instagram, or Twitter!
