The Wizard Strikes a Deal
Welcome to Season 2 of Neverwinter Monday Nights! It’s a podcast about five outsiders who meet in Neverwinter, a failing city which they all wish to help rebuild for their own reasons – or until they find something better to do with their lives. There are a few reasons the podcast disappeared for five months – most notably, that I, the webmaster, experienced a difficult breakup, and began editing/ publishing this podcast in the lonely aftermath. When I began living life again, I kind of lost my impetus to edit. It even made me feel lonely to edit it. It has been nearly one year since. A lot has happened in my life over the past year, including a career change, a new apartment, a new love interest, and a lot of soul searching. Please accept my apologies for the lack of podcast you have experienced. It’s also worth mentioning that episode which covers the end of “The Maribus Sting” is the season finale that never aired. “What the hell happens to Maribus??” I was asked time and time again. For that episode I was using a new recording setup, and I didn’t set it up right – instead of our voices getting recorded into the microphones we’d meticulously set up, the internal microphone in the laptop was what ended up capturing the entire session. It’s really not radio-worthy. Not even podcast-worthy. So after about much deliberation, I’ve decided to scrap the episode entirely and continue on without it. You really won’t miss much – just a couple battles, and where we find Maribus lying at the end of the tunnel with his throat slit. An arcana check reveals that someone recently teleported out. Having learned that Maribus shared some kind of connection with the Sons of Alagondar, the rebel group in Neverwinter, we decide not to include that part when we tell Neverember his man was chased down and murdered by Siricist cultists. He can tell we’re hiding something and pays us the base amount he promised, but takes away our Christmas bonus. The Scrooge. On that note, I am thrilled to announce that I am resuming the editing of this podcast. So far, you have heard the first three months from its inception, and we started pla
