EP 79: Ruthie Collins "Get Drunk and Cry"
With everything on the table and up for discussion, there is no holding back during this hour with Ruthie Collins. Raised on a farm in Fredonia, NY, Collins fell in love with country music at a young age. Her mother, a church organist, celebrated her natural affinity and introduced her to a variety of instruments, starting with piano and the violin. As a promising vocalist and multi-instrumentalist looking for a bigger pond, she left home to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston. From her flea market lace curtains to her obsession with shiplap, she forges her own path, marrying DIY projects and vintage frocks with modern country music. Ruthie’s sound mirrors her lifestyle – an approach that celebrates the work of legendary women like Dolly and Emmy Lou in a contemporary way that fits seamlessly into your Instagram feed.

EP 77: THE SHADOWBOXERS "Adore"
I can't say enough about these guys! Adam Hoffman, Matt Lipkins, and Scott Tyler are the founding members of The Shadowboxers, but if you were to ask any of them who's the lead singer, they will tell it's all three of them. Like a great Lifetime movie, their mutual love for classical music brought them together while attending Emory University all pursuing different degrees. Their friendship and harmonies are about as tight as it gets. Together with bassist Carlos Enamorado and drummer Cole McSween, they've forged a cohesive sound based on a shared reverence for the strong, taut harmonies of Simon & Garfunkel, D'Angelo, and The Beatles. Now signed and produced by Justin Timberlake, I can assure you that big stages are in their near future. Hear their story, words of wisdom and their amazing cover by the legend Prince, "Adore" More: Youtube donaldjenkinsnow @donaldsjenkins www.donaldjenkinsnow.com

EP 75: Christina Taylor "Don't Look Good in Your T-Shirt Anymore"
Christina grew up in Florida, but is now a resident of both Charlotte, North Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee. She began dreaming of a career in music at a very early age. Her musical influences span several different genres and you can hear those influences (R&B, Pop and Soul) accumulated in her country sound. Christina is part of the family at Go Long Entertainment, LLC, an Artist Development Company based in Nashville, TN and led by VP's of Artist Development, Sherrie Austin and Will Rambeax. The song writing collaboration with Sherrie and Will has already produced some incredible new songs and Christina is itching to get into the studio to lay them down very soon. In the mean time, those living in the Charlotte and Nashville areas should take every opportunity to get out and see this rising star live. In my 15 years living in Nashville, I have been fortunate to watch a lot of friends like Kip Moore, Brett Eldredge, Florida Georgia Line, A Thousand Horses, Michael Ray and more, start their journeys with a back pack and a dream and end up being a huge success in country music. Yet the most frustrating part about being a friend and a fan to not just artist, but writers like Corey Crowder, Justin Weaver, Rick Huckaby, Westin Davis and many more, has been hearing amazing songs that will never leave the Nashville city limits. "Nashville Hits Collecting Dust" is a casual, entertaining hangout with friends telling stories, giving valuable advice, and playing great songs that otherwise would still be sitting in a database. My guest are pure entrepreneurs that are living out their dream of being artist and full time songwriters." Find more at donaldjenkinsnow.com and @donaldsjenkins

EP 74: Daphne Willis “Dopamine”
Today on NHCD be prepared to be charmed and humbled by the amazing Daphne Willis! Daphne talks to Donald about being a "pop" song writer in a traditionally "country" music town and how surprisingly seamless the process can actually be. Daphne describes Nashville as distinct from either LA and NY music scenes as in Nashville there remains a focus on the lyrics and the craft of writing lyrics with story and continuity. Daphne reminds us that, “song writers can write a melody, (but in Nashville) its all about the phonetics and phrasing of something, actually creating something meaningful within that melody.” Daphne talks to Donald about the inspiration behind her new song "Dopamine" and her road of recovery from addiction to inspiration. Daphne is proof that facing personal weakness, can create strength and purpose…Oh yeah and did we mention TOM BEAUPRE is guest-hosting??? Listen Now!
