405: Bella! Where the Hell Have You Been Loca?
Twilight is back and more terrible than ever! And so is our audio! Sorry about that, but this is our final episode we record half a world apart. Next time you hear from us, we will be back in the basement, and up to our regular shenanigans!

404: A Very Twilight Musical
Happy summer everyone! Hope you are all finding ways to keep it cool like us cool kids. But don't worry, this Twilight episode definitely doesn't turn up the heat. In fact, the romance in the series' third edition, Eclipse, is quite lack luster to put it nicely. (And we don't really put it nicely.)

403: How to White Fang Your Girlfriend 101
Okay, so we are still on this Twilight journey. We know it's all downhill from New Moon, therefore we are excited to talk about how brown this movie is, and how Bella can't fully open her eyes. And yes, we discuss the book at some point. However, keep in mind we haven't read it since we were 16 and thrust into either team Edward or team Jacob, so details are a little foggy and perhaps tainted? Sit tight as we deal with bad boyfriend material and video lag, because the two of us are still half a world away. A special thanks to our loyal listeners for sticking it out through the past year and all the changes that have occurred. We are still ironing out some wrinkles, but ready to continue with all the nonsense you know and love!

402: The Blue One
Vampires:  a tale as old as time. So why did we all get hooked, and then subsequently hateful of this series? Twilight continues to baffle us. So join the shady ladies as we beat the crap out of this book and movie. Oh, and did we mention that this is also a four part series? Maybe part four will even be split into two parts, because we need to drag out the pain a little longer. Thanks as always for listening!

401: WE HAVE RISEN
First of all, we apologize for the hiatus we have been on. If you are wondering why, where, who, how, etc., then just listen to this episode because we get into it. But not without also addressing Animal Crossing, German traffic patterns, and sweaty dance classes. Also it is time to dig up all our high school shame, as next time we begin to discuss TWILIGHT. Again, sorry for the break, but we are so glad to be back cackling with you all!

310: The Truth About Chicken Wings
We're back again and later than ever before! You didn't think we'd go a year without a Halloween episode, did you? Lucky for us, Halloween isn't just a day. It's a state of mind. Plus, we recorded this the day after Halloween, so we were still feeling spooky. Anyway, this week we're talking about haunted places in Buffalo. We've got all the classic spooks: haunted theaters, forts, and train stations. But if you're not a fan of the spooky, rest assured we spend a lot of time discussing Buffalo food and hometown classics. Make sure you try the sponge candy. Thank you for the patience as we transition our format and go through some life changes right now. If you listen to even 5 minutes of an episode we are so grateful. Lots of love to you! 309: Cliff Hanger and Justin Time
HELLO ITS GABY WE LITERALLY RECORDED THESE IN SEPTEMBER I JUST DIDN'T POST THEM UNTIL NOW 2020 AMIRITE. I haven't posted the podcast in so long, it's nice to see you all again. How are you? I hope you enjoy this long awaited episode, I will make it up to you somehow! Anyway, go read the episode description I wrote!! Today on our very serious literary podcast, we decided to talk about the 90's TV Shows that made us into readers. You may enjoy this show if you still hum the theme song from The Reading Rainbow. If you wish that your library was run by lions. If the word "Wishbone" means more to you than a Thanksgiving tradition. Or if you came home from school excited to see the adventures of a church mouse. Off topic tangents include in-depth discussion of the Redwall series, Community, and NOT talking about Star Trek. https://www.vote.org/

308: We Got Cursed
What do Waluigi, Westley from the Princess Bride, Jess Mariano, and Geralt from the Witcher have in common? They're all bad boys. You know we can't resist those leather jackets (or long purple overalls), defiant attitudes and smoldering eyes. On this podcast, we've taken it upon ourselves to tier rank all the bad boys we could think of (sort of). Find out which boys we would marry, who we thirst after, and who we pretend we do not see. Tangents include Gaby not liking blonde men, full plot summaries of Gilmore Girls, and the fact that we tried to record this podcast three times. Let us know what you think and if you love a bad boy. Sidenote: the next book we'll read together is The Devourers by Indra Das. We're planning to discuss the book in the beginning of October so stay tuned!

307: Very Bad Network
Welcome back to our very on topic, very serious literary podcast. This episode we wrap up our discussion on Tomi Adeyemi's amazing book, Children of Blood and Bone. Like I said, this is a very serious discussion that we waste absolutely no time getting to. We do not make absolutely any jokes. We do discuss an epic sword fight, a tragic betrayal and a cliffhanger ending. And if you haven't yet, read the book to experience it for yourself! Thanks for reading with us and thank you for listening as we figure out our new format. We've got some fun episodes coming up and we'll announce our next book club pick soon!
57 minutes | Aug 17, 2020
306: Mario?
Welcome back to our nonsense book club! We're still enamored with Tomi Adeyemi's Children of Blood and Bone. This week we're covering the first half of the book. So if you haven't read it, watch out for spoilers! Of course, we have to talk more about flip flopper Inan, the relationship between Binta and Amari, and one of the coolest settings in the book....that reminded Casey of Mario? We probably get a little off topic in the meantime. If you've read the book with us, let us know your favorite moments! Next episode, we'll discuss the climactic ending and give our final thoughts on this amazing story.

305: The Nonsense Book Club
This week, we’re talking about our first book club book: Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. We would love for you to read it, because it’s incredible. In this episode we dive into the characters, the setting, and the amazing Tomi Adeyemi. We don’t spoil anything big, but we do reveal some elements of the plot and story. Even if you haven’t read it, listen to us talk about how much we love it, what it’s done for the book community, and the important messages within the text. Look out for our next podcast as we dive deeper into the book, maji, and the world of Orïsha.

304: The Birds Work for the Bourgeoisie
Have you ever seen a bird? The answer is no. Because birds aren't real. Want to know why? Then listen to this week's podcast as we dive into conspiracy theories. Can you trust that pigeon? What or who is behind crop circles? What are the limits to what people will believe? And why did people oppose fluoride in our water? Also, Casey might be a witch. On our next podcast, we'll begin discussing The Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. As we move into a new book club format, we're changing our posting schedule. We are now going to post our podcasts bi-weekly. Two podcasts a month. This gives you guys time to read the books with us, and gives us time to create great podcasts where we dive into the characters, lore, and plots of the books we love. We'll talk about each book we read for two months in total. But don't worry, we'll still have these random episodes as well.If you love listening to our conspiracy theories episodes or any of these silly episodes this month, please consider donating to our patreon. You'll have access to episodes where we play games, goof around, and dive into other conspiracy theories. Thank you so much for listening!

303: Plot or Not
If you've listened to even 5 minutes of our podcast, you'll know that two of us really really like Teen Wolf. And one of us really really doesn't. Since this is our month of nonsense, of course we're making a Teen Wolf episode. We're playing a game of Plot or Not. Gaby and Paige made a list of plots, arcs, and moments that happened on Teen Wolf and some things that didn't. It's up to Casey to guess what happened on the show and what's fake. Did we mention that we didn't tell Casey about this beforehand? Listen as we talk about the healing powers of mistletoe, magic trees, and coyote wolf hybrids. Play along and tell us what you thought was a plot or not. And July is flying by! Get ready for us to discuss The Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi starting in August. Let us know what you're reading and what other books you'd like us to read in the future.

302: Fondued
Grab your gel pens, Lip Smackers gloss, and Ipod Nano, because this podcast is taking you back to middle school. If you've ever been a bored 14 year old with the internet, you'll know where we're coming from. We get a little immature as we fill out madlibs. We guarantee you'll get frustrated as we struggle to come up with simple verbs. Beware, headphone wearers, this one might get loud. After, we peruse websites that tell us how long it takes to read specific books, and try to beat a 20 questions game. Teen Wolf, Hamilton, and whatever else we usually talk about is mentioned. And after listening, check out Tomi Adeyemi's book, Children of Blood and Bone. We'll be discussing it all of August. Let us know what you want us to read or talk about in the future!

301: Cool for the Summer
We're back again and hopping on a trend. This week we're tier ranking our summer wish list. We rank things like mowing the lawn, beaches, and required summer reading. Find out what we love to do and what we hate to do. And we've got some strong opinions. But what we thought would be arguing, really turns into sharing sweet summer memories, nostalgia, and actually staying on topic. And of course while we miss some summery fun, we are all still wearing our masks and staying safe. And if you're just tuning back in, we'd like to let you know that Nargles and Other Nonsense is broadening to become a literary podcast. Each month we're going to read a book together and discuss it. Along the way, we'll throw in some other bookish episodes. If you'd like to read with us, we're reading and discussing Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi in August. Until then, we'll be having various podcasts about various topics where we talk about various subjects. Most importantly, we will probably still be off topic. Videos mentioned in podcast that inspired this tier ranking: chanelletime: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20SzKnW1-mE readwithcindy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XY895_XuvU Cody Ko: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbSiHcluI9E

253: Return of the Nonsense
We're back! And we've missed you. We sat down with our masks on to talk about the last few months. A few things: Black lives matter. Black trans lives matter. Black lives matter in every aspect of society and life. It's the education system, the health care system, it is in every system. Don't lose momentum. Donate. Sign. Educate yourself. Make sure Black people are on your feeds. Buy from Black owned businesses. Listen and use your voice. It is better to speak up and make a mistake, then to not say anything at all. Trans rights are human rights and we stand with the trans community. We no longer want to talk about or associate with JK Rowling or her books. We're going to step back from Harry Potter and begin talking about other books, fandoms, interests and fun stuff. Let us know what you'd like to hear about! We'd also like to read one book together each month and talk about it. We'd love for you to join this nonsense book club. In August, we're going to discuss Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. More info to come in our next podcast! Keep wearing your mask. Register to vote and stay informed. Links are below. We hope this podcast is a space for you to be yourself, laugh, and feel supported. BONUS: Muggles Against Humanity
Hey everyone! Sorry that it's been so long since we uploaded, but we are all practicing safe social distancing during these trying times!  Enjoy this throwback episode from last summer, and we hope to be back to podcasting soon to bring you all the nonsense! Here's another fun podcast, just for you! We play Muggles Against Humanity. It's similar to another game that features cards against humanity. We have to fill in the blanks with some very ridiculous answers that deal with some weirder aspects of the wizarding world. This one isn't for the faint of heart. The prompts are fun, the answers are vulgar. There is a lot of singing. And we definitely shouldn't play with only 3 people. We had fun recording this one and hope that our patrons enjoy it as well! 252: Spikes for Hands
If you've been listening to us for a little while, you know that Paige has refused to read Cursed Child, talk about Cursed Child, or reference Cursed Child as an entity that exists. We're starting a new series, so Paige can finally understand the strange entity that is: Harry Potter: The Cursed Child. We quiz Paige on the events that happen in the first act. Study up and follow along with us. What's up with the Trolley Cart Witch? Why did Draco name his son Scorbus? Why are the characters doing things that don't make sense?!! Let us know your thoughts because this podcast is a whirlwind. Follow us! 251: Monster Madness
To be honest, it feels weird to be writing such an upbeat description in a stressful and sad time. We hope this podcast can make you laugh, feel good, and escape your worries for even a little while. If you're feeling cooped up, we hope it feels like you're hanging with friends. And if you're missing March Madness, we've found a solution. We're doing our own version of March Madness this week. We're pitting all of the HP category five monsters against each other, bracket style. Who would win: a beast with five legs, or a giant spider? A basilisk or a horned serpent? Let us know your thoughts and who you think would win! Wishing all of our listeners good vibes and well wishes. Follow us! 250: Well, That Got Dark
It goes without saying that the Department of Mysteries in Harry Potter is.... mysterious. The people that work there are called "unspeakables" and literally can't make small talk about their jobs. And remember that huge fight between Harry's friends and the death eaters in the fifth book? (Remember the man with the baby head). Really, we're left with more questions than answers. The hags are digging deeper to reveal the secrets of this somewhat dark ministry department. We talk about the ins and outs of prophecies, what the "love chamber" contains, and what exactly that black veil is. Let us know your thoughts on the department and if you have more questions.
