There were many times that Thor, Odin, and Loki were the best company travelling around the Nine Worlds. But this time, only Thor and Loki embarked on the journey. The Allfather was nowhere to be found in this journey to Jotunheim. But the journey of Thor and Loki was worth remembering though.

Chosen by Odin, half of those who die in combat travel to Valhalla upon death, led by valkyries, while the other half go to the goddess Freyja's field Fólkvangr. In Valhalla, the dead warriors join the masses of those who have died in combat (known as the Einherjar) and various legendary Germanic heroes and kings, as they prepare to aid Odin during the events of Ragnarök. Before the hall stands the golden tree Glasir, and the hall's ceiling is thatched with golden shields. Among the foremost Æsir, Loki or Lopt, although he is more  properly to be counted their enemy. By race he was a Giant, his father  being the Giant Farbauti and his mother the Giantess Laufey or Nal; yet he became the foster brother of Odin and was numbered among the Æsir. His brothers were Byleist (also called Byleipt) and Helblindi. Loki was well-favored, but crafty and malicious. To be sure, he was sometimes compelled to make good the evil he had done, and occasionally he even placed his  cunning at the service of the Æsir in seasons of great need; yet in all that  really mattered he remained their enemy and the secret friend of the Giants. Loki was the actual instigator of the death of Balder. Odin, the supreme deity, had other titles aside All - Father. He was the wisest of all the gods.  From him other gods seek counsel. He drew his wisdom from the well of the Giant Mimir whom he gave one his eyes thereby becoming one eyed. Odin had many children among who is Thor. Odin and his brothers slew Ymir and set about constructing the world from his remains. They fashioned the oceans from his blood, the body itself became the earth, the bones became mountains and stones, the hair became trees and grass, the skull became the vault of heaven, the brain became clouds and the maggots in Ymir's body became small Dwarfs.
