#43: Deciphering Nutrition Models With Erin Butler & Shannon O' Grady Ph.D
Deciphering between different nutrition models, diets, etc can be overwhelming and we may not be sure where to begin.    The goal of this episode was to get two different experts together and help break down some popular trends. We are joined by Erin Butler, MTN RDY Nutrition Therapist and Shannon O'Grady Ph.D. who is the Director of Product Development at Gnarly Nutrition and this will be her third time joining us. We are obviously a fan.    We chat about intermittent fasting, keto, paleo, vegan, and some other nutrition trends and also take some questions from the community.    Also, do yourself a favor and try https://gognarly.com/  -- full transparency, we get no kickback from this. We just like to promote good products that help. Use the code mtnrdy for 15% off all products.

Boxing is a very difficult sport with high consequences. How do you train your brain to take a step back and approach such a difficult endeavor with ease? Placing 5th in the RIO Olympics, Alexis took up this sport at age 19 and never looked back.    Now retired from the sport, Alexis travels around New Zealand teaching workshops on setting positive intentions and putting yourself into a flow state before high-pressure situations.    We loved this conversation and we know you will too. See what Alexis is up to here.    @alexis.rebuildwithlex

#41: The Complexities of Hunting Ethics - A Discussion With The Experts, Dr. Josh Lenart
Conversations that only occur in echo chambers don’t always spur growth. Divisiveness occurs when we think we need to go left or right. I am interested in having conversations on the MTN RDY podcast that propel us forward. How can we bridge this gap? How can we understand one another? This doesn’t mean we have to change our personal ethics or lifestyle. It means we can listen to understand one another. This is sometimes easier said than done. • Disclaimer: I don’t hunt and I don’t eat meat. This is a personal choice. It doesn’t mean I am better than anyone nor the latter. • In the past, I caught myself judging those that do go Backcountry hunting without asking any questions about it myself. I labeled. This is a fundamental problem. I labeled them and passed severe judgment without seeking to understand. I have had some confronting experiences lately about my own judgments and the consequences I have had to face because of them. • I had one of the best conversations I have ever had on the podcast with Dr. Josh Lenart who serves as the chair for the Backcountry Hunters & Anglers for the Central Region Utah Chapter and one of his board members, Caitlin who is also brilliant. • We chatted environmental and economic benefits of BC Hunting, ethics of hunting, common misconceptions, common understandings, game population, and more. • We walked away with an understanding, which is all you can ask for.

I chat with Bryce Astill. Bryce is a 4 Time 200 Mile Ultra Runner Finisher recently completing the triple crown. This being said, this is a footnote as to who Bryce is and what defines him. This Podcast I connect with a friend, entrepreneur, orthopedic surgeon, sports medicine practitioner, climber and all types of great things, Dr. Katy Morris.    Katy is what I would classify as the "new wave" of surgeons where she creates a space to serve as the last resort. What I mean by this is, that surgery is a last resort. She advocates for preventative care and moving your body the appropriate way to prevent going under the knife. She has worked with hundreds upon hundreds of athletes of all sports and backgrounds with a plethora of experience.   Aside from working with athletes, she is currently in the process of launching Venture Orthopedics which would serve an underserved population who don't have access to a general practitioner.

#26: Behind the Scenes with Sean Crotty
Being behind the scenes I often get asked about my story and why I started MTN RDY and my particular story.    One thing I have learned over the years is that vulnerability and transparency are well, awesome. In this episode, I open up about my path that led me to MTN RDY, who I wanted to work with, how I wanted to build this business and the value that I wanted to bring skiers, bikers, and runners outside of just general programming. Enhancing one's quality of life from every aspect and connecting individuals to community, themselves, and building strong and wise humans on and off the mountain.    In a world where business leaders are typecasted to wear every single hat, I believe in focusing on your strengths and surrounding yourself with humans that compliment you.
