January 6th marks the birthday of one of the finest musicians in the world; AR Rahman! We at MMM find it extremely memorable & thrilling to kick-start the new year, 2022 by sharing our favorite song from each decade; 1992-2000, 2000-2010 & then 2010 onwards! In this special birthday episode to 'Mozart Of Madras', myself, Vignesh and our mandatory guest about ARR; Varun Ravichandran will take you down the fabulous and magical journey of this composer's journey! From the lightness in the music that characterized this musical director's journey in the 1990s, to the sheer perfection he offered in the 2000s and then to him experimenting with the basic structure of the songs in the phase post 2011 onwards , we have got it all covered! It has been a truly different year; that could well be split up into two halves. The phase leading upto June-July and then onwards. Lot of good content has come up on OTT platforms and the biggest crowd-puller from Bollywood once theaters opened up was Rohit Shetty's 'Sooryavanshi' that featured his Cop Universe as we got to see 'Simmba' & 'Singam' make their presence felt ! As far as Bollywood Music goes, there has been a pleasant, gradual trend seen in the re-emergence of OST's. The last 3-4 months of the year have given us some beautiful albums that have a beautiful mix of melodies & fast paced songs! There have been some interesting trends seen in Bollywood Music in the past one year with prominent artists like Arijit Singh, Amit Trivedi, Sonu Nigam & Udit Narayan starting their own music labels, thus heralding a culture of independent music that could gain lot prominence in the coming year!  For all the listeners, this musical is going to take you down a beautiful journey; right from 'Shershaah', 'Mimi', 'Atrangi Re' , 'Sooryavanshi' to '83' & 'Radhe Shyam' we have got every album covered in a rather unique, interesting connect to our podcast MMM as we celebrate crossing the outstanding achievement of crossing 1,00,000 plays/streams in early December, 2021! We live in times where an Artist is boycotted due to his nationality. As we celebrate our 74th Independence, the focus rightly should be on the modern avatar of freedom fighters who ensured we got freedom from the British Raj; The Frontline Workers or Doctors. Doctors without whom we wouldn't be in a position to withstand & live through what has shaken up humanity: COVID-19.  In a complete shift from what content we usually put out in this podcast, in this landmark episode, I had the privilege to speak to Dr Priya Ramakrishnan to get a Doctor's perspective of being on the ground, as they risk their lives day in & out to ensure we all can be safe & healthy.in these weird times.  We also have Dr Sowmya & Dr Yashita sharing their experiences, takeaways and some pointers for all the listeners, as we are staring into an impending third wave of the deadly virus.
