S2 Ep 15: A Talk About Pornography Addiction with Joshua Shea
Pornography Addiction has been called "the new drug". It is an addiction that is causing harm and hurt in relationships, families, and individual lives. I have wanted to address this topic for a while, but not being familiar with it, I didn't know how. I was grateful to have an expert to talk with and help others (as well as myself) understand it a little better. If you would like to contact Joshua Shea you can find his info below as well as links to his books. S2 Ep 14: Accountability Vs. Blame
Today I touch a little bit on Step 6 which is, "Become entirely ready to have God remove all your character weaknesses". What are character weaknesses? One way we could define them is, negative traits that yield negative results in our lives. Today I identify a negative trait, or character weakness that I had in addiction. As an addict I had no accountability, I often found myself using it's counterpart, which is blame. Today I talk about why blaming others rather then taking accountability for our negative behaviors and actions is so toxic.

S2 Ep 13: Feel good Friday - Our failures do not define us
Hey guys! I love you all so much. No really, I do. We are all in this life together. Each of us has struggles, challenges, and obstacles to overcome. None of us are exempt to struggle in this life, and I think it's such an important thing that we learn to love each other without prejudice, judgement and conditions. This is something I try to work on all the time.Anyways, because I love you all so much, today I wanted to do a sweet little pick me up episode called "Feel Good Friday". And who knows, if you like this maybe it will become a thing from time to time. I hope you get something from this message, "Because of Jesus Christ our failures do not have to define us. They can refine us" - words of Dieter F. S2 Ep 11: My Story of Addiction and Recovery.
Those who are familiar with addiction are aware that the causes, symptoms and effects of addiction are complex things. It is hard to discern the many factors that add to each individuals addiction. It is hard to explain the complexities. It is hard for me personally to share my addiction within one episode. There is so much I can share and so much to be said. However, today I just wanted to re-tell my story of addiction and recovery.I tried to show you the amount of dependence and the insane cycle that addiction is. This is me. I understand what it is to feel at the lowest of lows. I understand what it is to have a broken heart and a contrite spirit. And I also know what an incredible, amazing feeling it is to feel the transformation of recovery. I share my story with you today for two main purposes. 1 - to spread awareness about addiction. It can happen to anyone. In many different circumstances. And 2 - To spread the message "There is Hope", "Recovery is Possible".

S2 Ep: 10 - Talk about recovery with Kelly Thompson
This week I had the honor to talk with Kelly Thompson. Kelly is a fellow recovering addict who spent over 20 years struggling with drug and alcohol addictions. She truly has an amazing story of struggle, triumph and transformation. A quote I have always loved and strived to live up to says this, "Come to know God in such a way, that others come to know God, because they know you". This is how I feel about Kelly. She has such a kind and uplifting demeanor about her and I was so happy she came on the show. We dive into some of the differences between the 12 Step Program (ARP - addiction recovery program) sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and Alcoholics Anonymous, (AA).
