32: Another Mormon on Mushrooms
When we recently stumbled upon a VICE article about an upcoming book titled “Mormon on Mushrooms”, we obviously had to talk to the author!Brandon Crockett is the author of the upcoming book "Mormon on Mushrooms" detailing his Mormon upbringing, relationship with a wayfaring Rosicrucian alchemist, discovery of psychedelic enthusiast Terence McKenna, departure from the faith and subsequent fascination and experimentation with psychedelics. Born in California, Brandon now lives in Australia (thanks to an experience he and his partner had on edibles). His story was recently published in VICE and you can email him at MormonOnMushrooms@gmail.com. He promises he'll respond, especially if you know a literary agent. Such a fun discussion! You’re going to love Brandon’s energy.Links:Brandon's VICE ArticleThe Entheogenic Origins of Mormonism: A working hypothesis - Authors: Robert Beckstead, Bryce Blankenagel, Cody Noconi, and Michael Winkelman Naked Mormonism Episode John Hopkins playlist for psilocybin research Article about playlistThe Secret Teachings of All Ages, Manly P Hall Terrance McKenna Video

Song Circle Sundays - Volume 1 - "My People Are Waking"
Excited to release our first Song Circle Sunday--a monthly celebration of music and art featuring local artists, their music, and their stories. We have an epic lineup to kickstart things off:Mountain TribeMadam SnowflakeRocky LavoieTessie HuntingtonHope you enjoy!Art by Tanner Gilliland @tannerg_artArtist Bios:Mountain Tribe:As artists of both imagination and soul Mountain Tribes’ music takes you on a magical journey, their words paint breathtaking pictures and the vibrations of sound are not only entertaining but inspiring as well. During his musical journey Eric Anderton (singer/songwriter/guitar) who formed Mountain Tribe, has had the opportunity of opening for Sublime w/ Rome, Everlast, O.K. GO, to name a few. Some say his musical vibration can be compared with Xavier Rudd, Citizen Cope, and Nahko Bear. Uniting with acclaimed vocalists Tosha Carter and Janae Mechling along with Percussionists David Bower and Timothy Butler together they are “Mountain Tribe”.Website:  https://mountaintribemusic.com/Instagram:  @mountaintribe musicMadam Snowflake:Madam Snowflake is a singer, songwriter, pianist, dancer, and producer, fueled by a deep love of nature. Snowflake’s music is dedicated to awakening the heart and evolving our collective actions — to help preserve our planet.Snowflake (aka Emily Richards) explores trails less traveled, whether hiking a mountain or sharing her songs. At the turn of the millenium, Emily was one of the first artists to make music available for download or streaming. With over 2 million unique downloads, she was the most popular artist on MP3.com, and headlined their 50-city tour — where 100 bands opened for her across the United States and Canada. During this tour, tragedy struck when Emily’s little sister Annie was killed by a drunk driver. And that changed everything.Dedicating her art to something deeper, Emily recreated herself again and again — until Madam Snowflake emerged like a butterfly from a chrysalis. Singing a message of harmony, with our planet and one another, Snowflake felt compelled to share her music in new ways. ccMixter.org, an international community of musicians, has become Snowflake’s musical platform and creative home. Website: https://www.madamsnowflake.com/Instagram: @madam_snowflakeRocky Lavoie:Rachelle "Rocky" Lavoie is a lover of music, nature, healing, and all matters of the soul. Along with being a yoga instructor for nearly 10 years, she is also an end-of-life doula, musician, and reiki practitioner. You can expect a soulful experience when practicing with her as she weaves in elements such as live music, poetry, aroma therapy, and more. She loves spending time with her son and her partner, climbing on rocks, sunbathing, deserts, mountains, dancing, and reading (which comes in handy being in school studying social work and psychedelic therapy research).Website: https://thewildflow.com/Instagram: @rockylavoie_musicTessie Huntington:Tessie taught herself to play guitar as a teenager and quickly realized she could combine it with her poetry to write her own songs. Since then, music has been an outlet of emotional and personal exploration during the toughest of times. her unique and raw style tells the stories of her personal life with an original twist on blues, bluegrass and alternative influences.Instagram: @tessie.frequencies
