With the upcoming full release of We Missed A Meeting: Some Assembly Required, we were brought in for this live-read of "They Wept the Good Weep" (Secret Chapter #1) during the Wine & A Read-Through virtual event. Check out this story about Mia Morgan, a mother demanding justice from her daughter's murderer: Julius Mann. On the morning of June 8, 2020, Mia Morgan, her child's father, Curtis Purcey, and his mother walk into the courtroom to awkward looks, and a lackluster environment. That morning, Julius Mann was supposed to be sentenced for his crimes, but instead, The Absence happened - and it doesn't seem Mia is going to get justice from the justice system. Capping off the first experience documented of The Absence, "They Wept the Good Weep" not only introduces us to The D and The Absence, but speaks to the very relevant topic of how the American justice system consistently doesn't show up for Black Americans and minorities across the country.
