Recorded late one night in the summer of 2016, here is the fabled "Lost Episode" of Monkey Club. Until now, it has existed only in segments scattered about the hard drive of a mostly dead early-00s Gateway computer. Through an exhaustive process, it has finally been recovered and painstakingly restored. Join Chris Podcasts (then just starting out with Now and Again), Cara O'Regan (who would go on to co-host Wistful Thinking and be an all-around regular on the CageClub Podcast Network), and Christian Larson (some guy) as they discuss a movie so horrifyingly terrible it melted down a laptop: 1987's Going Bananas.

In August 2015, we released our very first podcast and proceeded to tear through Nicolas Cage’s filmography at a breakneck pace. We had no idea that we'd continue after we finished Cage’s filmography, but we asked, “What’s next?” and went from there. After nearly four years, we are releasing our 1,000th episode. Monkey Club continues its brief streak actually decent movies with a discussion of 1968's Planet of the Apes! This week Chris and Chris are joined by Cage Club and Keanu Club co-host Mike Manzi for an in-depth discussion of the sci-fi classic, and how it expertly handles issues like racism, religion, animal cruelty, and Charlton Heston's glorious bare buttocks.

After catastrophic technical issues and the loss of their special guest, the Monkey Club regroups for this uncharacteristically thoughtful discussion of the story of gorilla conservationist Dian Fossey. This week, Chris and Chris (with special guest Rob Arrechi) take a look at one of the most notorious incidents of Ronald Reagan's career – no, not the Iran Contra affair, 1951's Bedtime for Bonzo. The most memorable film from Ronnie's B-movie days, Bonzo finds the future President playing a psychology professor who must settle the nature vs. nurture argument once and for all by rearing an adorable chimp.

Monkey Club heads to the ballpark this week for 1996's Ed, a film which somehow failed to launch Friends' Matt LeBlanc into big screen superstardom. Chris, Chris, and a mysterious guest known only as "V" learn that there’s nothing in the rulebook that says a monkey can't play baseball – or haunt your dreams with dark, Lynchian visions.

To kick off Monkey Club with Chris and Chris, the gang teams up with special guest Joey Lewandowski to tackle the original monkey movie, 1933’s King Kong.
