#6 Winners and Losers in COVID
Hi guys, I shifted the focus and format of the podcast due to the COVID pandemic. I want to shift to the importance of mentoring and leading our kids, our teams, our students more than just ourselves.I know that this is still a fairly new podcast and there aren't a ton of people listening just yet, but I want to make one thing very clear. Mission is Life. Those that are on mission will always come out of situations like this better than those who are just mailing it in or chasing paychecks. Now, more than ever, defining, building, and living on mission is so very important. Who is going to win in times like these? Those who know what they are about, are focused, know their superpowers and values? Or those who are just in it to make a buck?Mission is Life.

#4 Wind Your Watch and Lead During CoronaVirus
In this first episode of Friday Conversations Mike talks about stepping up and leading during the coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic.Giving guidance from a pilot's perspective, in all situations:Wind your watch! Nothing has to happen fast. Determine what is happening and what is not happening. You can sometimes do more harm than good by doing the wrong thing. Aviate, Navigate, Communicate: The Pilots Priority during abnormal and emergency situations. Aviate: Fly the airplane. If you lose control of the airplane, none of your efforts will matter because all will be lost. If you lose control of your team or your family, you have failed in your leadership. Set priorities, guide calmly and keep everyone safe.Navigate: Maintaining control is step1. Keeping the aircraft moving away from danger and towards a solution is step 2. Keep navigating your family or team towards a solution and away from danger or aggravating situations.Communicate: Step 3 is to communicate and clarify a plan. Get everyone on the same sheet of music and constantly follow up. Make sure that you keep everyone moving forward.Lead and keep your powder dry! This, too, shall pass!MikeMike@missionreadyhuman.com

#3 How Values Help You Win
If you don't know and respect your values, you're a sailboat with no rudder, and you'll end up wherever the wind blows. In episodes 1 and 2 we talked about Impact and Purpose. We talked over what you wanted to accomplish and what your purpose in this world may be. Even if your purpose is a bit fuzzy, we can find more clues in episode 3 today. So, lets get into it.Here's what I want you to know: Knowing and understanding our values helps us unlock a mission that you can truly embrace and dedicate yourself to. Our values are like gravity to us. We are predisposed to follow them, and we are never more conflicted than when one of our values runs into something that we may want, yet doesn't align with our true self. Why do I want you to know about values? Because they are your rudder. Back to the sailboat analogy, Sailing is your purpose, Finding the new world is your desired impact, and VALUES will help you make the best decisions on how to conduct yourself in getting there. Values tell you when to hoist sails and carry the wind. They tell you when to give the men a little more rum with dinner, and when it's time to crack down and swab the decks. It tells you which ships to let pass, and when to hoist the black flag and slit throats. It tells you when you are off course. They are your stars to navigate by. When I coach children who are bullied, I talk about the conflict they are feeling when a "frenemy" is abusing them, but they put not being cast out of a group above their own value of dignity and respect. When I talk to people who want to have a career in aviation, but they can't see spending 150 nights a year in hotels away from their family, we evaluate that conflict and find it back in values. What do I want you to do? I want you to find out what values truly guide you, and what values steer you away. Google "list of values" and there are a plethora of values lists that you can look at. Pick 10 values that you truly align with. Just 10. There are lists of 100's, but pick 10 and write them down on a sheet of paper. Write your list horizontally down the left side of the paper, then vertically across the top. The list should be identical and aligned on an x and y axis so you can compare 1 vs 2-10, 2 vs 1 and 3-10 and so forth. See which value comes out with the most nods, and that's your top value. Now do it with values you despise, or those "anti-values" See what comes up. I want you to think about the impact and the purpose you have identified in your life. Do your values jive with or conflict with those two things. Where's why I want you to do it. Because when your purpose, your values, and your impact are clear and aligned, your passion becomes the nuclear spark that keeps you moving forward and driving through the difficult times. That's grit. You know what you're about and where you're going, and nothing stops you from getting there. Here's how you can remember it. Remember the Sailing Ship. When your purpose (You're a born sailor and explorer) and your impact (you are going to discover a new world full of riches) and your values (Your compass and directives) are working together, not only can you harness the wind and fly on the water, you can also weather the still and calm where your crew threatens mutiny. The harbor bars are full of captains who can sail. Few charted true missions and brought back the prize. If you have questions, comments or concerns, please email me at Mike@missionreadyhuman.com

2 Search For Your Purpose
Going through life without a purpose is kind of like watching Keith Richards and Katie Perry pay tribute to Luciano Pavarotti with a Harmonica Duet. What I want you to know:You need to give Keith his guitar, and Katie a microphone, or send her home and get an opera singer. Alignment matters. It all starts with what you were put here to do.You have a story that goes back a ways and is full of clues as to what your purpose is. High and Low points. Experiences that gave you that feeling that you'd do that the rest of your life and not miss a thing, being totally satisfied. There are 7.6 Billion people on the planet, each with a unique DNA, talent, nuclear why.Finding your purpose will lite the reactor in you and put you in the best possible position to be "all you can be"Finding your purpose doesn't mean that has to be your JOB. It may be what you do to bring about the impact on the world you desire. Here's why I want you to know this:You spent some time in the last episode distilling the impact you wanted to have on those you love, those around you, those you hope to have around you. There's a mission you were perfectly suited for bringing to life, and for you to get there, you have to be the best, most slick and aerodynamic form of you. You need performance that will carry you through. You only get that when you are pursuing your true purpose in life.Don't confuse this with dreams. Dreams are ideas that you may want, but may not have the talent to support. Lots of people want to be a famous singer. We see that on the voice and american idol every season. Some have it, some don't. So here's what I want you to do:I want you to block your life into seasons or defined chunks. What I mean by that is to break your life down into times you were living in a certain place, or in college, or when you were dating someone. Then, try to list significant events or experiences that may be a defining signal for your purpose. You may see one or two patters develop. One may be of positive things. One may be of negative things. Don't judge. You may have witnessed abuse and crimes a lot as a child, and you may find purpose in being a police officer, lawyer or a judge.Just gather those few patterns. We will talk about examining our strengths in the next podcast.Look for evidence to support one of the patterns that you identified being a true purpose. Is it a dream, a purpose, or both. I've been told that my guitar playing is awful. I still love to do it, but it's not my purpose. Think "superpower"....I want you to do this because it takes some deliberate work to nail down the truth in what your purpose is. The more deeply you look and the better you refine your search, the sooner you can get moving towards your true purpose and find your performance reaching new heights. When you take the stage, you belt out the first few notes and the crowd goes wild. You're in tune, your songs are well written, and the crowd is getting the show they know only you can give them. (Dave Grohl, "play")Here's how you can remember it. Look at your hand. 5 fingers again. break your life up into 5 year blocksfind 5 experiences, events or pursuits that you felt defined or fulfilled youWrite those in your journal and think of 5 paths that may align with each of those experiences

#1 Tick Tock: Get on Mission
Mike discusses the Importance of getting on mission. Time is a wasting, we are all seconds closer to the end, and if we aren't on mission, we are selling our purpose short, and selling others short of the impact we could have.In this episode, the 5 questions answered are:What do I want you to know: Time is ticking to the end, and we lose daylight on our mission every minute we don't pursue that purpose. Why do I want you to know it: Because the peace and alignment you will feel will also translate to the impact you will have on others and on this world. Don't waste it.What do I want you to do: I want you to get a journal and give yourself a funeral. I want you to think of who you'd want to be there, and what they would say to eulogize you. Is there a difference in what they say vs. what you want them to say? What changes do you have to make to align those? Why do I want you to do it: Because if you aren't living the life you want eulogized, you have WORK to do!!How can you remember it?: Think of a Tombstone, and on it is your name, your date of birth - dash - and the date of this exercise. The engraver is looking over her shoulder and asking how they should word the epitaph....that is the IMPACT of your MISSION.Keeping with the rules of The Tuesday Mission Toolbox, this podcast was 7:58 seconds. Live well, GET MISSION!!Mike Panebiancomike@missionreadyhuman.com
