Hour two kicks off with Captain Bobby Sullivan from Ice Breaker Charters. Bobby talks about springtime walleye fishing on the Saginaw River. Michigan DNR Fisheries Biologist Jason Gostiaux follows up with the science behind opening up that river to walleye anglers.

We switch gears in Hour 3 and talk turkey with Charlie Wiltse of Primal Outdoors. Charlie has great advice on bowhunting for birds. We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Mina.

Former DNR biologist and current Director of the Nimrod Education Center at Hillsdale College, Al Stewart is featured in Hour 3. Al talks about declining turkey numbers and also the work they’re doing to promote hunting and fishing. We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar and another great wild game recipe.

The show kicks off with fishing guide Bob Hinds of Central Coast Angling. Bob talks about the unique fishing opportunities on Michigan’s Grand Traverse Bay. Then, outdoor writer Dave Rose has a preview of the upcoming Ultimate Sport Show in Grand Rapids.

Hour 2 features Paul Phillips. He’s one of the best extreme long range shooters in the world. Paul describes how his techniques can help hunters to be more accurate. Clay Buchanan from the Michigan DNR is up next. Clay has details on the Michigan Wildlife Habitat Grant Program.

We talking high performance air guns in hour 3 with Tom Simmon of High Pressure Pneumatics. Tom says today’s guns are great hunting tools at surprisingly long range. We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This week Dave has a very nice rabbit recipe.

We kick off this week’s show with Rich Chrzan of Killer Food Plots. He says it’s not to early to get a jump on your plots and talks about the advantages of frost seeding. Then, Jason Graham from the Linwood Beach Marina on Saginaw Bay previews their Boating and Fishing Forum coming up on March 4th. Tom Campbell from Woods-n-Waternews wraps up the hour.

Hour two features houndsman Vance Gawel and a very interesting story about rescuing a dog abandoned by it’s previous owner. Kristina Kennedy from MUCC is up next. She talks about the ten year anniversary of the On The Ground program. This week’s Ask Avery segment addresses the rumor about a plan by the Michigan DNR to relocate wolves to the lower peninsula. Spoiler alert…it’s not true.

Bear numbers and a proposal to limit hunting licenses is the topic of discussion in hour 3 as I talk with outdoor writer Richard P. Smith. We wrap it all up with chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time he has a squirrel recipe.

We kick off this week’s show with Kyle Green of The Greenway Outdoors TV. Kyle is moving his Michigan based hunting and fishing show to the History Channel. That’s a huge move and will present the outdoor lifestyle in a positive manner to a very wide audience. Then Ed Roy from the Michigan Wildlife Council has an update on their Here for Generations campaign…and hints at a possible modification of their target audience in the future.

Hour 2 kicks off with expert coyote hunter Randy Budde. He has great advice for night time predator hunters. Tyler Czarnopis from the Michigan DNR is up next with a look at how the Department uses social media to get their message out. This week’s Ask Avery segment brings in Lisa Jackson, also from the DNR. She addresses the question of whether Michigan seniors can get an advantage in the elk hunt drawing.

We’re talking knives in Hour 3 with Kris Duerson of Rapid River Knives. Kris describes the history of his UP company and has great advice on choosing the right knife. We wrap it up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar.

John Durtka of Purely Mi Spearfishing is my first guest this week. John talks about underwater spearfishing in the Great Lakes and looks at the number of fish harvested by spearing. Then Scott Hamlin from Bohning Archery joins me to talk about that respected Michigan company and it’s role in archery today.

Fisheries biologist and tournament angler Ali Shakoor kicks off the second hour. Ali talks about some of the research he’s involved in and also has some great fishing advice. MUCC Executive Director Amy Trotter is up next. Amy talks about issues facing Michigan hunters and anglers today.

Hour three features the “Whitetail Whisperer”, John Eberhart. John talks about his success this past season ratting in Michigan bucks, the popularity of saddle hunting today and his post season scouting techniques. We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time he has a very nice rabbit recipe.
