The guys discuss some of the Penn State players on offense and defense that will be the key for the Nittany Lions. The advantage of having a White Out at Beaver Stadium after a bye week for the home team. Naturally, someone (Shannon) has to ask about the Joe Pa. stuff with the program not letting go along with a ton of other great content for listeners to enjoy. Men of the Scarlet and Gray Podcast: Buckeyes Escape Camp Randall Recap
Shannon and Chip are back!! After too many technical difficulties from last week which trashed the show, the guys come back this week to discuss the Wisconsin game. They discussed J.T. Barrett and his performance along with the defense. It was nice to see the Buckeye escape with an overtime win in such a hostile environment. The #askMotSaG Segment along with the Pick'em segments are back. Some really great questions again this week which they are thrilled to receive. Shannon is still down two games to Chip. Even though last week's show got trashed the guys tied on their picks. To let you all know they are changing up how the show gets released. Instead of a full hour or and hour and a half shows the shows Shannon and Chip do will be split up into two different segments to be released Thursday and Friday. Buckeyes in the NFL along with some recruiting will be a new show set to be released on Tuesday mornings. Men's and woman's basketball discussions are planned for future shows along with the wrestling Buckeyes. Feel free to let Shannon know if you like the new way. Shannon and Chip give a brief account along with a recap of the demolishing that the Buckeyes did to Rutgers this past week. They discussed how great it was for JT Barrett to put his name in the record books by completing the most touchdowns in Ohio State history. How amazing it was to watch the Silver Bullets only allow 33 yards through the air. Zach Osterman from the Indianapolis Star joins the guys to talk about the Indiana Hoosiers for the Buckeyes next game. They discuss how Indiana is playing their best defense in years. There was some discussion on the Hoosiers offense which seems to be less potent than years past. They talked about what Indiana players need to do to attack the Silver Bullets defense and how to possibly slow down one of the best offenses in the country. Shannon and Chip had one #askMotSaG question for this week then they went into their Pick'Em segment where Shannon is down by one game to Chip.

I'm not the Lone Wolf is an excellent read packed full of insight that Shannon and Chip took a lot of things from. Shannon talked about his first day working at The Shoe, he sounds like he is still amazed and thrilled by being there. The guys discuss the Tulsa game that happened. The slow start that ended with a storm of interceptions. The delayed halftime that allowed the Buckeyes to have more time to make adjustments. The second half was a tale of what fans watched in the Bowling Green game. For this week Shannon and Chip are joined by Ryan Aber of The Oklahoman. Ryan brought a ton of insight into the Oklahoma program including that the Sooners are in a must win situation. The #AskMotSaG segment and the Pick'Em segment have some great stuff along with the rest of the show.

It is game week which means Shannon Sommers and Chip Minnich break down some of the Buckeyes depth chart. They discuss some of what was said during Urban Meyers press conference like the Torrance Gibson suspension. Thomas Schmeltz from the Sentinel-Tribune joins in to discuss Bowling Green coming to Columbus looking to try and upset Ohio State. They discuss the Falcons new head coach Mike Jinks and the possible style of offense they will run. Thomas answers some questions about what the offensive and defensive players for Buckeye fans to keep their eyes open for. How Bowling Green like the Buckeyes are hoping to have a balanced attack. The theme seems to be fast and balanced. Shannon and Chip get some #askmotsag questions which they are thrilled to answer. The questions like how will the Gibson loss effect Buckeyes, players that stood out in training camp. For the last segment, Chip and Shannon give their predictions on upcoming games this weekend. It's time to talk about the teams in the Big Ten East Division. Shannon and Chip are joined again this week with Brett Ciancia of PickSixPreviews.com They start off with Rutgers who they all feel will finish last in the division followed by Maryland. All three agree the hires of Chris Ash for Rutgers and DJ Durkin for Maryland are excellent hires. They then discuss Indiana and their ever changing defensive coordinators. The problems they have defensively and the loss of some key offensive players. The discussion turns to Penn State and who are they. Is James Franklin the right fit for them. How the White Out games add a touchdown for them. The final three spots really are close with Michigan State in their eyes finishing third followed by Michigan and Ohio State going to the Big Ten championship game.

Shannon Sommers and Chip Minnich are joined by Brett Ciancia of Pick Six Previews to discuss the Big Ten West. They start off talking about Purdue Boilermakers and Darrell Hazell's future in West Lafayette. Move onto the Illinois Fighting Illinois. They talk about if new head coach Lovie Smith can get them back into a bowl game. Next up is the Minnesota Gophers and what is going on with former interim now current head coach Tracy Claey. They also discuss the relatively drama free Big Ten media days except for the James Franklin allegations about Ohio State recruiting. Bri'onte Dunn and his status on being able to return to the scarlet and gray or not. Talk about the running back position, offensive line and wide receivers. Former Buckeye players will be starting their rookie seasons in the NFL with training camp starting up. This week Ryan Rosko an editor for factoryofsadness.co joins us to discuss the Ohio State Buckeyes in the draft along with the Cleveland Browns. We discuss that Ryan doesn't feel Joey Bosa is a Top 8 draft pick. The reasons why the Cleveland Browns need to stay away from Cardale Jones. Can the Buckeyes get 6 players drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft to tie Miami who set the record in 2004. There was also talk about Eli Apple to the Steelers. Chip gave us his wish list of the Browns picking Michael Thomas and Nick Vannett along with giving Chase Farris a shot. Shannon gives his dream scenario of the Browns drafting Joey Bosa, Michael Thomas and Cardale Jones. Ryan wishes the Browns don't trade out of the 8th spot and taking Ezekiel Elliott.

Chip Minnich and I had the privilege of getting with Big Ten Network analyst and former Buckeye quarterback Stanley Jackson to talk some Buckeye football. We discussed the upcoming Spring Game, NCAA ban on satellite camps, Cardale Jones ripping the NCAA. We played a tribute for former Buckeye and New Orleans Saint great Will Smith. Tyler Bishop (@tyler123B1) put together a great youtube video honoring the former defensive lineman that was tragically taken away recently. Stanley gave us his thoughts on the tragedy as well. It was great discussing with Stanley what the Buckeyes key areas to watch are, what its like as a player to get ready for the Spring Game, we also kind of talked about who at this time (which is early) might be a front-runner for the Big Ten. The Ohio State Buckeyes came away from National Signing Day with another top recruiting class in the nation. Myself along with Chip discuss it along with our special guest from Script Ohio Joe Dexter. The three of us sit down to talk about our initial thoughts on the new class of Buckeyes that will be playing in Columbus. We picked a specific group that stood out to us. We tried to talk about what specific players we will be keeping our eyes on along with our sleeper picks for impact players for this next season. We ask if we felt if there were any disappointments and well since this isn't Ann Arbor we play in naturally we had positive things to say. We wrapped up the insanity with talk of the Browns and the State of Ohio trying to pull a fast one on Ohio taxpayers, Detroit Lions all while Joe was in the closet. I reminisce with Chip Minnich about the Desert showdown that was the Fiesta Bowl on New Years day. We give a little recap about the game versus Notre Dame, offensive and defensive players of the game, we even touched on the targeting call made against Joey Bosa. Chip and I discuss some of the juniors leaving early for the NFL (at the time of the recording Vonn Bell had not declared but has since). Nine underclassmen are putting the Scarlet and Gray down to join the big boys in the NFL. We also talk about defensive coordinator change with Chris Ash going to Rutgers and Greg Schiano now the Buckeyes new co-defensive coordinator. We also give our prediction of who might be the winner of the national championship game coming up between Alabama and Clemson.

Men of the Scarlet and Gray Big Ten Bowl Game Predictions
Chip and I are back!! This week we discuss Ohio State getting a New Year Six Bowl. Buckeyes will be heading to the desert to face Notre Dame a rematch of 2006. We don't break down the game this week (that will be coming up shortly), but we do discuss how the Buckeyes got into the Fiesta Bowl. We also discuss the Adolphus Washington suspension and what it could mean for the Buckeyes against the Fighting Irish. We did our MotSaG Pick'Em segment and this week it's all about the Big Ten teams and which bowls they will be playing in. We discuss the reason Nebraska and Minnesota were able to get bowls this year with a losing record. Naturally we had our #AskMotSaG segment with a couple of questions this week and we briefly discussed Star Wars. We want to thank You all again for listening and helping us grow, what our awesome listening audience has meant to us this year just cannot be said in enough words about how appreciative we are for each and every one of you.
