Creating a Morning Routine with Jenny Lee
About Jenny Lee: Founder and owner of BeeVibe, Jenny Lee teaches women how to create a joyful morning routine that fits their lifestyle and fits what they naturally love doing.   In this episode Adam and Jenny discuss: The importance of having a morning routine How to start the day productively? Making your morning routine fun Starting a new habit Helping your kids with their routines   Key Takeaways:  How you start your day makes a huge difference in how your day goes.  Start your day productively, and you'll be able to maintain that momentum of productivity throughout the day. Getting out of bed in the morning is usually the biggest obstacle in starting your day productively. Wake up early – it can be difficult at first, but you can try starting small with ten minutes earlier and adding on as you go. The key to a joyful morning is to associate waking up in the morning with positivity and gratitude, and choosing an activity that you enjoy doing so you'll be motivated to do it again the next day. If you want to start a new habit, you should make it easy, simple, and fun - a new habit that isn't fun or enjoyable will not last. Allow your child to pick something that he/she enjoys and then try it together.   “Think about what gives you the most fun, what makes you the most exhilaration, and integrate that into your morning routine.” - Jenny Lee     Connect with Jenny Lee: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sunnyjennylee/ Facebook (Personal): https://www.facebook.com/jennyleeinfinite Facebook (Group): https://www.facebook.com/groups/639027547608447   Connect With Adam Weber: Website: https://meditationnotmedicine.com/about/ Email: adam@meditationnotmedicine.com    Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/easytomeditate Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meditationnotmedicine/    YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPnbji9rDrCfxhY0W8sHL9A Book: Meditation Not Medicine     Show notes by Podcastologist: Angelica Rayco   Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Supercharged with Meditation with Dr. Rashmi Schramm
About Dr. Rashmi Schramm: Dr. Rashmi Schramm is a board-certified physician (MD) and a national board-certified wellness coach. She is certified in several types of meditation and is passionate about making mindfulness and meditation simple and accessible to everyone. She works with high-achieving women who are feeling overwhelmed and overworked to let go of guilt and reconnect with their inner peace and joy so they can live the energetic and purposeful lives they deserve.   In this episode Adam and Dr. Rashmi discuss: Getting back into balance Reconnect with nature. What is stress and how does it affect us Using meditation in our everyday lives   Key Takeaways:  Try two minutes of meditation or breathwork a day while adding some kind of whole food to your diet. Small incremental changes and consistency are all it takes to get back to balance. Don't worry too much about the risk of COVID when you go outside. Keeping your immune system healthy will allow you to spend more time outside and around nature, which is good for mental health. We are often unable to get past our perception of stress, which can lead to anxiety and depression unless we physically remove it from our mind-body system. Have a daily meditation practice – it’s time-efficient and cost-efficient. By moving from activity to silence to stillness, you are building up your mindfulness muscle in the fastest way and also relieving stress.   “Meditation can be woven into any lifestyle and it can be used for a whole host of reasons. I would say the number one reason that most people come to it, certainly when I'm working with them is for stress relief, and it is a really potent, powerful antidote to this chronic daily stress.” - Dr. Rashmi Schramm     Connect with Dr. Rashmi Schramm: Website: https://www.optimalwellnessmd.org/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Dr.RashmiSchramm Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dr.rashmischramm YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUN1xL3LOQQHLRfOUumaFGw   Connect With Adam Weber: Website: https://meditationnotmedicine.com/about/ Email: adam@meditationnotmedicine.com    Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/easytomeditate Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meditationnotmedicine/    YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPnbji9rDrCfxhY0W8sHL9A Book: Meditation Not Medicine     Show notes by Podcastologist: Angelica Rayco   Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Just Breathe. It is Going to Be Ok with Megan Callus
About Megan Callus: Megan is the creator and founder of Boundless Breath NJ.  She spent the last decade studying the brain and body and found the most powerful way of changing and healing the body was simply adjusting the way we breathe. She created Boundless Breath, specializing in respiratory training (aka breathwork)  to teach clients how to use their breath to reduce stress and heal their bodies. Megan focuses on the neurology, biochemistry, biomechanics, and psychosocial elements of breathing. Her goal is to help everyone discover the power and magic of their own breath.   In this episode Adam and Megan discuss: The importance of the breath Is there a right way to breathe? Getting the most out of breathwork exercises  Breathing during meditation   Key Takeaways:  Several body systems are affected by how we breathe, so we should recognize how our breath impacts them, as well as what different breathing practices we will use, whether we are going to use our breath for energy, or whether we are going to use it for anxiety and stress reduction. Depending on the results you're seeking, there is a right way to breathe, but the optimal breath is an inhalation through the nose that is quiet and slow. Taking care of oneself, as well as learning techniques and tools, such as breathwork exercises, can help people to be more productive and healthier, and allow them to be in a state of focus, flow, and productivity in the workplace. In meditative practice, it is best to breathe through your nose almost always – pay attention to the sensations of your breath, the coolness of the air as it enters your nostrils, the warmth of the air as it leaves, the expansion of your belly, sides, and back when you inhale and the contraction as you exhale. The more focused you can be on your breath, the slower you become, and the easier it is for you to enter a meditative state.   “When you're in those states of stress, if you take just a moment to pause and take 10 breaths extending those exhales, you're going to recognize that you can shift and be more functional and that the perspective on things will shift as well.” - Megan Callus     Connect with Megan Callus:  Website: https://www.boundlessbreathnj.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/megan.callus.5 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/boundlessbreathnj/ Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@boundlessbreath LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/megan-callus/   Connect With Adam Weber: Website: https://meditationnotmedicine.com/about/ Email: adam@meditationnotmedicine.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/easytomeditate Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meditationnotmedicine/   YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPnbji9rDrCfxhY0W8sHL9A Book: Meditation Not Medicine     Show notes by Podcastologist: Angelica Rayco   Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Mindfulness for Kids with Kelly Winkler
About Kelly Winkler: Kelly is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and a 95-hour Registered Children's Yoga Teacher. She is a mother of four children and has extensive experience working with children, which has led her to become a children's yoga and mindfulness instructor and trainer, as well as a member of the team at Kidding Around Yoga, a company whose mission is to educate people on how to share the practices of yoga, mindfulness, and meditation with children. Kelly also co-created Mindful Conversations with KAY, a podcast for parents, teachers, counselors, or anyone who works with children that discusses using research-based tools and strategies to help increase mindfulness, self-awareness, connection, self-regulation, and peace in your home or classroom.   In this episode Adam and Kelly discuss: Kelly’s daughter’s struggle with anxiety How the world is right now affecting our kids' development Making yoga and meditation accessible to children A look at Kelly's mindfulness class for kids Kids, too, crave a sense of calm.   Key Takeaways:  It can be difficult to figure out your child's thoughts if he or she has anxiety, but by practicing meditation, she can redirect her thoughts and move through this difficult time. With the advent of technology and with the outbreak of COVID-19, more and more kids are experiencing anxiety and struggling to connect with their peers and their families -- this is why education really needs to be at the foundation. To help children regulate their emotions and nervous system, they need to take some time throughout the day to practice meditation and mindfulness practices. Keeping yoga and meditation accessible to children means making it fun for them. If they enjoy the practice, they're more likely to stick with it and practice it throughout their lives, and they'll feel as if it's just a part of their toolbox. Children need to learn the reason why they meditate in order to be self-aware and sort of explore what's going on in their body and how they can use these meditation practices to feel more comfortable in their bodies in order to feel more relaxed, or more peaceful, or more focused, or whatever it is they are striving for. Provide kids with opportunities to release their energy in a safe and healthy way, and then show them how to find stillness in their bodies, harness that energy, and breathe and meditate as part of mindfulness practice.   “By doing some breathing practices and by showing your children that you can take some time for quiet and stillness, then we can share that calm with our children.” - Kelly Winkler     Connect with Kelly Winkler:  Website: https://kiddingaroundyoga.com/licensee/kelly/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mindfulmomentsforfamilies/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kelly.p.winkler Email: kellywinkler@kiddingaroundyoga.com   Connect with Adam J. Sleep Success with Meredith Louden
About Meredith Louden: Formerly an insomniac, Meredith Louden created the Sleep Success Method, which helps high-achieving people fall asleep in just 5-10 minutes with no sleeping pills, supplements, or trendy sleep aids.   In this episode, Adam and Meredith discuss: How stress is linked to sleep problems The basic sleep advice The importance of putting your phone away at night How to sleep more than you normally do   Key Takeaways: Stress is highly linked to sleeping problems, and there is so much more stress in the world as a result of the pandemic. More stress basically means less sleep, so you should focus on stress management techniques rather than taking pills or drinks just for the sake of falling asleep. Getting a good night's sleep involves calming your nervous system two hours before bed, putting your phone away from you, avoiding anything that will trigger any sort of negative emotional reaction, and stopping working at least two hours before bed. Focus on yourself and your inner world. Simple notifications from your phone can reactivate your stress response and ruin your bedtime. Don't let your phone distract you at night by putting it on Do Not Disturb or hiding it. Reduce the grip that your sleep rules have on you, avoid distractions like watching TV shows and smartphones before bedtime, and take a nap when you can.   "When you sleep better, you feel better and all areas of your life really can improve once you get your sleep back on track.” – Meredith Louden     Connect with Meredith Louden: Website: https://www.meredithlouden.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sleepsuccessmethod Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meredithlouden YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/meredithlouden Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@meredithlouden   Connect With Adam Weber: Website: https://meditationnotmedicine.com/about/ Email: adam@meditationnotmedicine.com  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/easytomeditate  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meditationnotmedicine/   YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPnbji9rDrCfxhY0W8sHL9A Book: Meditation Not Medicine     Show Notes by Podcastologist: Angelica Rayco   Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Everyone can choose from a variety of different types of movements; it's just a matter of finding what works for them, and what they’re capable of both physically and mentally. It's your limiting beliefs and ancestral traumas that are hindering you from reaching your goals; so learn to let go of those fears and your life will change dramatically.   "I am trying to get people's mojo back, I'm trying to get their passion back. I'm trying to get their excitement. I'm trying to get their thirst for life back so that every day they wake up just like “oh my god, I'm so excited, what is today going to hold?” And that even when the things that maybe we define as being not the most amazing things that happened during the day, they have the type of mindset that they can still be like, “yeah, this kind of sucks, but how exciting.".– Sahara Leigh     Connect with Sahara Leigh: Website: https://holisticmojo.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HolisticMojo/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/holisticmojo/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/Holisticmojo Email: Holisticmojo@gmail.com Other online courses: https://holisticmojo.com/resources/   Connect With Adam Weber: Website: https://meditationnotmedicine.com/about/ Email: adam@meditationnotmedicine.com  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/easytomeditate  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meditationnotmedicine/   Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPnbji9rDrCfxhY0W8sHL9A Book: Meditation Not Medicine     Show Notes by Podcastologist: Angelica Rayco   Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Making Meditation Easy with Wendy Patterson
About Wendy Patterson: Wendy is a Professional and Life Coach. She has struggled with depression and anxiety most of her life. She couldn't identify how she felt as an adult due to being too many things at once; mother, daughter, provider, employee, cleaner, cook, caretaker, advisor, etc. It took her some time to re-discover herself, which led her to learn Reiki (3rd level); Cranial Sacral (CSTS1); Meditation. Her pursuit of these subjects led her to become an Empowerment Strategist (in training), NLP Practitioner, Time Line TherapyTM Practitioner, and Hypnotherapist. In this episode, Adam and Wendy discuss:  Using meditation to overcome depression and anxiety Practicing simple meditation in our daily life What is timeline therapy? Making the five-minute meditation a ritual Key Takeaways: The time you spend alone with yourself for five to ten minutes a day could help you become self-centered, find that inner peace and calm and be more capable of navigating the outside world. It’s not about thinking about nothing, but about quieting your mind and just bringing the consciousness back to yourself. Be the best version of yourself through timeline therapy – it releases you from all of your negative traumas by digging into your unconscious mind and uncovering it, allowing it to be turned into more positive energy in the now so that you can move forward more freely in your life. Making yourself a priority, being gentle with yourself, and coming back to your breath is the key to being at peace with yourself. In addition, you have to really surrender to the whole process - keep the daily practice of taking those five minutes out of your day. "It's just taking that first five minutes and making it a practice throughout your day no matter what time. And it's just recognizing what's going on and bringing everybody to the present moment so that they can kinda be in the “now". – Wendy Patterson Connect with Wendy Patterson: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wendypatterson.wellness Gmail: wbpatters@gmail.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wbpatters9819/ Free Meditation Guide: https://wbpatters.ac-page.com/free-meditation-guide Connect With Adam Weber: Website: https://meditationnotmedicine.com/about/ Email: adam@meditationnotmedicine.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/easytomeditate Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meditationnotmedicine/  Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPnbji9rDrCfxhY0W8sHL9A Book: Meditation Not Medicine Show Notes by Podcastologist: Angelica Rayco Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Anxious to Awesome with Mira Binzen
About Mira Binzen: Mira is the Co-Founder and Director of Training at Global Family Yoga. As a Yoga Life Stylist, Yoga Therapist, and Teacher Trainer, she has dedicated her life to the well-being of children and families.    In this episode, Adam and Mira discuss:  The difference between stress and anxiety How anxiety impacts the whole family Getting comfortable with discomfort  Mira’s non-medical prescription for kids that face anxiety   Key Takeaways: Stress is a normal physical response triggered by events or situations, whereas anxiety is the body's reaction to stress. When either of these conditions becomes chronic, it may begin to negatively affect our quality of life. A parent who has anxious children knows that they have anxiety too, so learn how to manage your own anxiety and communicate effectively - it will help you understand what's going on and shift out of that state, which is essential for holding your child's anxious feelings as they develop. Wellness begins with a relaxed and calm mind and body, and growth and progress occur when we get comfortable with the uncomfortable. Make meditation a part of your daily habits. Embrace a six-minute morning routine every day so that you are aware of and recognize the importance of feeling connected to your body.   "Kids can meditate easier than grownups. So don't think that your flighty little child can't meditate because they can and they will, it's a matter of making it a priority, making a commitment, and sticking with it." – Mira Binzen   Connect with Mira Binzen: Website: https://www.anxioustoawesome.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mirabinzen Twitter: https://twitter.com/OMMira   Connect With Adam Weber: Website: https://meditationnotmedicine.com/about/ Email: adam@meditationnotmedicine.com  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/easytomeditate  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meditationnotmedicine/   Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPnbji9rDrCfxhY0W8sHL9A Book: Meditation Not Medicine     Show Notes by Podcastologist: Angelica Rayco   Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Dissolve Stress, Build Resilience & Thrive with Rachel Posner
About Rachel Posner: Rachel is a yoga therapist and mindfulness coach. She specializes in helping clients decrease fear and anxiety and increase self-compassion and life satisfaction through online courses, yoga, yoga therapy, and retreats.     In this episode, Adam and Rachel discuss:  How do we feel safer in the world What is mindfulness and how does it work Rewiring our nervous system  Checking in with your body The role that yoga plays in your life   Key Takeaways: The feeling of connection is the first step to feeling safer in the world - when we feel that someone else has our back or we are surrounded by support, our nervous system calms down. Make mindfulness a part of every moment. It will allow you to not just become aware, but also notice the stressors that arise, and develop a kind of plan for how to respond as each arises. Rewire your nervous system through meditation and mindfulness practices. The fight that rests and digests becomes stronger and easier to move into when you practice it. Being aware of what's happening in your body might feel overwhelming at first, but as you practice, you'll build a deeper connection with yourself and with others. Practicing yoga is more than just stretching, it's about strength and mobility, thus finding the right class for us is crucial to slow down all those external thoughts and worries.   "Just by identifying, naming, and then really sitting with those safety cues, mindfulness practices will help shift the state that we're in to give ourselves and our systems a little bit more support." —  Rachel Posner     Connect with Rachel Posner: Website: https://www.rachelposner.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RachelPosnerYogaTherapy/   Connect With Adam Weber: Website: https://meditationnotmedicine.com/about/ Email: adam@meditationnotmedicine.com  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/easytomeditate  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meditationnotmedicine/   Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPnbji9rDrCfxhY0W8sHL9A Book: Meditation Not Medicine     Show Notes by Podcastologist: Angelica Rayco   Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. A Mindful Divorce with Leah Marie
About Leah Marie: Leah Marie is a certified Divorce Recovery Coach helping women in their 30s & 40s adjust to being alone after divorce to build self-confidence without settling for the wrong relationships.   In this episode, Adam and Leah discuss:  A mindful approach to divorce Practicing getting quiet with yourself Acceptance is the key. The art of handling other people's opinions mindfully   Key Takeaways: When going through the divorce process, it's about responding and being mindful, not reacting, that will give you the self-awareness you need. The key to understanding yourself better while dealing with divorce stress is to be present with yourself, practice breathing exercises, and listen to yourself quietly. Don't resist what comes next from your choices, accept it and learn to let it go, and you'll be more confident moving forward. Nobody knows what's going on with you, and no one understands the choices you make. It's only you who can decide what's best for you. It doesn't matter if they don't understand your choices; it's during this time you'll find out who's truly on your side and who isn’t.   "That's where acceptance (as you go through the divorce process) comes into play. And when you can see it as an opportunity to create good things for yourself or to get to know yourself or to heal wounds that you've been carrying around for years, it's a chance for you to better yourself and to really have a better, healthier life, if you see it that way and if you choose to see it that way." —  Leah Marie   Connect with Leah Marie: Website: https://www.mindfullyready.com/ Facebook: http://facebook.com/mindfullyready/ LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/MindfullyReady Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mindfullyready/ Tiktok: https://vm.tiktok.com/TTPd2sFGb3/   Connect With Adam Weber: Website: https://meditationnotmedicine.com/about/ Email: adam@meditationnotmedicine.com  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/easytomeditate  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meditationnotmedicine/   Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPnbji9rDrCfxhY0W8sHL9A Book: Meditation Not Medicine     Show Notes by Podcastologist: Angelica Rayco   Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Your Life Lived Well with Dr. Kevin Payne
About Dr. Kevin Payne: Dr. Kevin is a social psychologist, entrepreneur, author, podcast host, speaker, teacher, and frequent guest interviewer or panelist. He shares the results of his extensive research concerning how to live a quality life with chronic distress, pain, and illness. He also shares his personal exploits as a collector of experiences — even while battling Multiple Sclerosis for decades.  He is also a licensed skydiver and never misses an opportunity to jump out of a perfectly good plane.   In this episode, Adam and Dr. Kevin discuss:  The truth about stress Using meditation to reframe stress perception Choosing life actively   Key Takeaways: Stress is not bad, it just means that you are feeling challenged at the moment. It is a matter of learning how to better frame and process stress, and sometimes even use it in our favor. The ability to reframe your attention, not control it, is one of the benefits of meditation that will help us to identify what we want to accomplish in our lives. Life is not over just because you have a chronic illness. Make your body more comfortable and engage in activities you enjoy, it doesn't have to be extreme as long as it will help you overcome your fear – it really starts with how we reframe our experiences in the world.   "We actually have to have bad in our life, to appreciate the good. Get a hair test – hair holds the key to gaining knowledge about the body.  Learning to say no is the first step toward healing yourself. Put yourself first; self-love is the answer to all your digestive troubles. Allow your body to get what it needs, acknowledge your pains, and get rid of toxins. Keeping toxins in the body causes stress, so learn how to release them and rest as often as necessary. Not all food is healthy just because it says so. Fasting is a great way to detox.   "Be your own advocate, then be sure that who you listen to has what you have, has been where you are, is where you want to be, and can get you there safely and effectively. Pain and Stress with Dr. Tawny Kross
About Dr. Tawny Kross: She is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Pain Specialist, having nearly a decade of experience at a Veteran's hospital in North Carolina working with patients that have some of the most complex chronic pain cases. She is a firm believer in people's innate ability to heal and recover from chronic pain. She helps them in deepening their understanding of themselves, their bodies, their pain, and their values, and then uses that understanding to overcome their pain and guide them back to LIVING their life.   In this episode, Adam and Dr. Tawny discuss:  The truth about injuries and pain The pain-stress connection The best ways to cope with pain How Dr. Tawny helps her clients get back on track   Key Takeaways: Having broken tissues or serious injuries without feeling any pain or symptoms makes it ideal to pursue surgical healing, but if it fails, a holistic approach is a better alternative. A wound, no matter how healed, will still manifest pain, and stress and anxiety are caused by actual pain, as well as the inability to escape or deal with it. If you want to avoid not moving at all for the rest of your life, then eventually, you have to learn how to become familiar with gently moving into it. Moving your body, along with teaching your brain that it is perfectly fine, and having a clear vision of your goals is progress, is healing. Focus on mindfulness through meditation, breathing relaxation techniques, and looking at things holistically. Trust the process and you'll be on your way to recovery.   "Just starting to identify what sort of things around you, like if you're stressed out look around you, find what things that make you feel safe and make you feel connected because it's that connection point that I think allows you to start to feel less stress." —  Dr. Tawny Kross     Connect with Dr. Tawny Kross Website: https://www.drtawnykross.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dr.tawny.kross Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dr.tawny.kross/ Email: Tawny@drtawnykross.com   Connect With Adam Weber:Website: https://meditationnotmedicine.com/about/ Email: adam@meditationnotmedicine.com  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/easytomeditate  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meditationnotmedicine/   Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPnbji9rDrCfxhY0W8sHL9A Book: Meditation Not Medicine     Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. She is the Founder of Flourishbydesign, and is on a mission to redesign lives & businesses in harmony with nature from the inside out. In this episode, Adam and Caroline discuss: Combating workplace stress and anxiety The importance of mindfulness and meditation Teaching mindfulness practices to kids   Key Takeaways: Working in the corporate world can provide a good living, but it is detrimental to your mental health. And it's high time for companies to begin offering wellness trainings, because increasing employee productivity begins with bringing that awareness into the workplace. Our anxieties stem from the stresses we tend to keep to ourselves and deal with alone. It is more important now more than ever for us to learn mindfulness and meditation as they will greatly help us in overcoming any challenges life may throw at us. Mindfulness begins at home. The key to having a healthy mind of your children is to ensure positive connections between all members of the household, allowing children to express themselves, playing games that are appropriate to their age, reading books, and checking out meditation and podcasts online, and letting them try them out.   "If you're interested in kind of spirituality and any kind of meditation, what it brings in is in a choice – the choice in how we speak, how we respond. I suppose it's kind of trying to make people aware of the words that they use, how it can help in their inner world and the inner landscape, and then in their outer world with people around them." —  Caroline Murphy-Bennis     Connect with Caroline Murphy-Bennis: Website: www.flourishbydesign.co. Her work has been featured on CBC Radio and in Today’s Parent, Chatelaine, Thrive Global, Lifehack, and Authority Magazine.   In this episode, Adam and Shannon discuss: What is burnout? Escaping or addressing burnout How visualization motivates people The art of saying “no” The difference between a health & life coach and a therapist   Key Takeaways: There are numerous factors that contribute to burnout, which is on the rise across all age groups, and it is high time for us to take a closer look at it and see how we can better manage it. The first step in dealing with burnout is recognizing its signs. Then, be clear about your goals or what you truly desire. Being clear about your goals will make it easier for you to set action steps to help you get there.  The more you practice visualization or tuning in to all of your senses, the easier it is to be present in that moment and bring motivation into your life. Do not put everyone else's needs ahead of your own. Learn to say no and set boundaries for yourself. Unless we respect our own time, energy, and focus with boundaries, we will lose a lot of energy and find things to be really draining. Health and life coaches and therapists both offer advice, but therapists help their clients work through and resolve past issues and traumas, whereas coaches work with clients on current obstacles and challenges, and help them discover what they really want in their life.   "Once they do move themselves up the list of their priorities, and they go towards the top, they see how much that can impact all others in their life and everything they do. Put your own oxygen mask on before you help others" —  Shannon Talbot   Book Online: https://www.pathtopresence.ca/book-online   Connect with Shannon Talbot Website: https://www.pathtopresence.ca/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pathtopresence.ca/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/347249433267311 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/shannon-talbot-mba/   Connect With Adam Weber: Website: https://meditationnotmedicine.com/about/ Email: adam@meditationnotmedicine.com  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/easytomeditate  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meditationnotmedicine/   Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPnbji9rDrCfxhY0W8sHL9A Book: Meditation Not Medicine     Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions.
