This is a recording from the archives of the Training Ground where Sophia talked about emotional release as an indicator of the potency in a healing experience. The questions section of the recording was edited for the privacy of the students, but the bulk of the lesson was left intact for your use. It can often be tempting as a practitioner or a patient to chase down a big, tearful emotional release on the table to prove that healing is really happening. Sophia reminds us in this episode that when we let go of preconceived notions about what healing looks like, and observe what is really present in the moment of healing, we might not see any big display. There is no perfect way a healing should look and we can even head the wrong direction for a person in a moment by hunting for the drama. Big healing moments can absolutely have waterworks and the screams of labor, but they're not any better or worse without those things. Darlings! In this solo episode, Sophia discusses the themes that most of us encounter when doing personal healing that becomes consciously collective healing. Darlings, this time has been so wild. So many of us who are super sensitive souls, need a lot of support when things get this hard. Solo episode sharing some thoughts and felt for the medicine callers these days. If you have felt some relief along side the grief and rage, you are not alone. I know that this time feels brain breaking, not new. For some people now, the clanging news feels and is new. New information, new astonishing heartbreaking information. Can it be true? Can it be so so so unjustly rigged? For others, the heartache and break are rooted in how old it is. How redundant and shapeshifting obvious continuous. The most heartbreaking part about it all, all of it, is how not new it is. And yet, I am an optimist in my fervor and commitment to continue until it is different. And I also believe it is different, in some ways the systemic white supremacy is different in it's shifting costumes of delivery method. In other ways, the difference is the actual response and true solidarity I am witnessing and the true listening to black leadership and direction by real allyship. Funds being shifted by mayors, charges being made, meetings with citizens where silence and being ignored was the standard. Change, because of the movement. Sophia is joined this week by Fia! As in, Fia the enchanting, singing, songwriting Swedish goddess who blessed us with her presence and beautiful songs. She and Sophia have a great conversation about many of the aspects that surround a life devoted to channeling true, and beautiful things. Of course, all people can access these layers, but for whatever reason, many don’t. Feeling just so, so sensitive and having a difficult time relating to peers while growing up, but finding solace and power in the arts. “I stopped waiting for someone to give me permission to do my soul’s work and for it to look a certain way as society presented it to me.” -Fia They both talk about the deep desire to turn healing skills towards family members, and the truth that we can only do that by healing ourselves. We will see shifts and ripples flow out past us into our loved ones when we change, and it’s only by getting out of the way of their unique journeys that true healing can happen. When we remember ourselves back into being, others will be undoubtedly affected.  They talk about finding your own authentic medicine lineage without stepping on others or blundering into sacred spaces uninitiated. Sophia talks about the complexity and intricacy of these lineages as we keep moving and mingling across the planet and forgetting and remembering our histories. Are we not just as bound to the lineage of our birthplaces as we are our many ancient homelands? What about the stars from which we come? Darlings. Let’s be real here. Are you hearing people anxiously trying to go back to the world we left behind? Are you seeing this mad scramble to get things back to normal and pretend this massive shift isn’t happening? The world that was–the corrupt money systems, the depleting health systems, the food that can’t nourish, the jobs that bring no income–are done with. And unless we can all admit that the world ended and is being reborn, this next chapter is going to be a really serious struggle.
