School's Out
I zoomed with the University of Florida GHQ radio staff at their final 'All In' meeting of the semester. We chat about all things radio. It's very much an inside or behind-the-scenes look and listen as to what we do ... or try to do. Thanks to Glenn Richards and Rob Harder for making it happen. If you haven't already, please subscribe to this podcast! Thanks.

Hey Baby!
You've been waiting for another episode? #MeToo  Aw, don't be #scerred. You've seen the news reports. You've maybe heard the segments on anything from Full Frontal to the Daily Show to  CBS Sunday Morning. Everyone is talking about sexual harassment, whether in the workplace or out in the streets. I touch on some of the harassment stories I, or some of my colleagues, have experienced in radio.I don't name anyone because they are not all solely my stories. Do you really want to know who walked up and sniffed a female DJ's hair? Would it matter to you now? This 'cast is more just a way to let you know that this stuff happens, and it happens all the time. We deal with it all the time. And we keep on keeping' on.

Whatever Tomorrow Brings
Valentine's Weekend. The first half of the podcast is a highlight of my career and the second half revisits one of the darkest days.I share an interview with a band that was right at the beginning of their ascent into superstardom. The singer's birthday also happens to be February 15th. It is also the 3rd Anniversary of a tragic event that has a deep connection to me, and all of South Florida. Please be sure to subscribe! Thanks.

Get Up Stand Up
Two things you shouldn't talk about in 'mixed company'?  Politics and religion. I will sort of break that rule in this first episode of season 2! Thanks for listening and please, if you haven't already, subscribe to the Cast.

Oh Santa, Hear My Plea
Ahhh, the holidays! For radio DJs, it's a chance to get a little extra creative. For this radio DJ, that meant writing a Christmas blues song some 30 years ago - if you dare, you'll hear it in this episode. You'll hear 'holiday wishes' promos from my colleagues of yore, and one of the more 'dark' bits I did every year around this time, 'The Fate of Santa'. #don't judgeWishing you the merriest of Christmases and happiest of New Years!

They Say It's Your Birthday
A special Thanksgiving/Birthday episode with my partner in birthday and longtime radio colleague, Glenn Richards. We have sooo many stories and puns ... lots of puns. Let his mellifluous voice be the dose of tryptophan on your turkey day.Shoutouts to those who share this birthday, and there are quite a few!

Funny How Time Flies
It was one year ago on this date that I was terminated from my radio job. Given, what 2020 hath wrought, it could be worse. I wanted to thank all of you for your support throughout the years, and in listening to this podcast/vodcast. I'm still hoping to find a place on-air, and I'll let you know when that happens! On the plus side, 1st anniversary is paper, so that can only mean good thing$😉

What A Day
I am joined by Elias Soriano, Nonpoint vocalist, to talk about the 20th Anniversary of their major label debut 'Statement'. The band is from South Florida - I first started playing them on my local show - and you'll hear an interview from August of 2000, right before the band was to shoot the video for the first single, 'What A Day'. We haven't really seen each other in a long time, but as I think you'll see, we picked right up where we left off ...www.nonpoint.com

The Greatest Thing You'll Ever Learn
October 11 is the date I started my first on-air job in radio (1987). It's also my dad's birthday. He was a big part of my show for the first ten years until tragedy struck. This was a difficult 'cast to record, but I wanted to celebrate his life and his contribution to my career. Happy Birthday, Dadba!

I Get By With A Little Help With From My Friends
I talk to two longtime radio listeners about the connection between a DJ and a listener. We delve into how much this relationship matters - to both parties - and why it's one of the reasons no other medium has been able to make radio go away ... until ...Vodcast is available at YouTube.com/HerKimbaI also have a website now: www.MeKimba.com

I Would Swallow My Pride
I visit some embarrassing moments from my career in Episode 4 'Ain't Got No Regrets'. I've since thought of a few more and share them in this episode. When you're doing live radio, in real-time, there's not much you can do when something goes wrong. In the case of the interview I talk about in this episode, it wasn't live but was funny enough to air, warts and all.If you have a request(ion) - anything you'd like to know about radio, please reach out to me:Email - kimbatyler@gmail.comIG/Twitter- @me_kimbaFacebook.com/MeKimbaVodcast - YouTube.com/HerKimba

Now This Is What It's Like When Worlds Collide
This episode explores how vast and tiny the music world is. I'm joined by Rich Ulloa (founder of Y&T Music), Matthew Sabatella (musician), and Chad Bernstein (Founder/President/CEO of Guitars Over Guns). We celebrated the release of Put Down That Weapon (Make Music Not War), a benefit for Guitars Over Guns - new recordings of legendary songs  of nonviolence. Fame
I'm often asked about the most famous person I've met/interviewed. Since that's subjective, I put the requestion to you. I ask you to vote on your choice in the music and actor/celebrity category. This 'cast features the top two vote-getters from each category. One talks about their feet, one speaks of respect, one talks furry cuffs, and one cackles upon hearing my reincarnation wish. Thanks for your votes and I hope you enjoy!

Let me know who you feel is the most famous in each category and I'll take the top two vote getters from each for my next episode. If you're willing to partake, you can let me know your picks at:Email: kimbatyler@gmail.com IG & Twitter: @me_kimbaFacebook.com/MeKimbaI can't wait to find out what you think!

Rock You Like A Hurricane
When you live in South Florida, the possibility of hurricanes comes with the territory. When you're a DJ in South Florida, there's an added responsibility to help get helpful information out. My friend, former colleague, and #HurricaneHusband, Ed Edwards joins me to talk about how we did radio when a storm had us in its sights.A vodcast version of this and all my podcasts available at YouTube.com/HerKimba

Big Boss Man
I answer a requestion from longtime listener Carlos about Neil Rogers. I get  some help from my special guest, too. Pete Bolger programmed stations around the country, but spent 20 years programming stations in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale. He's the guy who gave me my first on-air job.#RIP Scott Legere, Alan Young, and Jorge Rodriguez, who all passed away in 2020and to those who went before : Neil Rogers and Mike Lyons

The Vital Connection Is Made
This is sort of a continuation of Episode 13 in that I feature some 'theater of the mind' bits, and also the effect, the connection between a DJ and a listener.

Gonna Use My, My, My, Imagination
One of the best things about radio is the theater of the mind aspect. I'm joined by my favorite collaborator, Dave Corey, to talk about how creativity is integral to radio. You'll hear various audio bits that may or may not have actually happened, but therein lies the power of the aural medium. As always the video version can be found at YouTube.com/HerKimba.
