Six weeks so broad strokes about the episode. As you can tell from the title, this is the Halloween episode. It is set in the 2000s. We were.  Speaker 2  Did not see that coming.  Speaker 4  A little well we were a.  Speaker 1  Little off in our guesses in terms of what this was, because, at least for the opening very specifically, Malcolm in the middle.  Speaker 2  100% and I was not ready for that. I guess what it was is last episode we did the full house and family ties. There was a double sort of A and this just jumped forward past where we thought and Malcolm in the middle. Wow strong choice.  Speaker 4  Yeah.  Speaker 1  Strong choice down to Billy and Teddy doing the narration directly to Kabro, which I thought was super fun billion so.  Speaker 1  Also I mean.  Speaker 1  Tommy, I keep doing that if I had.  Speaker 4  Yeah, it’s a thing.  Speaker 2  Names are hard, but I guess you’re just not a comic.  Speaker 2  Fan, like the rest of this.  Speaker 1  Yeah, oh, I’m sorry that I keep mistaking two members of The Avengers who have very similar names.  Speaker 2  Don’t try to flex with more knowledge to make up for your mistake.  Speaker 2  Doesn’t work that way.  Speaker 3  I’m having fun, who’s great.  Speaker 2  It’s Alex I didn’t mean to do that, it’s the Pete vision he made me do it.  Speaker 4  Yeah.  Speaker 2  He made me do it.  Speaker 2  I would never correct you like that.  Yeah.  Speaker 1  Heat, it’s all.  Speaker 3  Repeat.  Speaker 4  Yeah.  Speaker 1  So Billy and Tommy doing the narration directly to the camera.  Speaker 3  Can you can?  Speaker 3  You ******* move that wire.  Speaker 3  That’s right in the middle of your ******* shot is driving me nuts.  Speaker 1  Who are you talking to me?  Speaker 3  You meant the wire that’s right running down the front of your ******* camera is driving me insane.  Speaker 1  CDT me.  Speaker 1  The wire, yeah, there’s a this is there.  Speaker 1  Yeah right great for our audio podcast.  Speaker 1  Yeah, I think over that.  Speaker 1  This yeah yeah, what is it?  Speaker 1  That’s a beam of gorgeous light that is lighting.  Speaker 4  Oh, this is.  Speaker 1  The upbeat is right.  Speaker 1  I cannot Deadlight the way that you can.  Speaker 2  We say we can’t do this this early in the morning because nothing makes sense.  Speaker 1  Lots going on this episode. Just a broad search sees what’s going. God Pietro is here now. It is Evan Peters from the X-Men series, so a lot of mystery that will talk about. I’m sure in a moment he seems to know what’s going on in West View. He is talking to Wanda about that throughout the episode, but he’s also acting as the cool Brother in law, Uncle Dude hanging out with the kids.  Speaker 1  Kids start develop their powers.  Speaker 1  Vision tries to make his way outside of Westview.  Speaker 1  It goes very poorly and as a result, Wanda expands the hex capturing Darcy.  Speaker 1  As well as most of the members of Sword, Hayward makes it out with two people, probably that we don’t 100% know. Jimmy Luann Monica Rambeau managed to make it out. They’ve had a break with sort of this episode after they’re kicked out, they are going to feed her room. They’re going to be to Monica’s contact outside of Westview, so will probably pick up of added. I’m sure have some theories there.  Speaker 1  Yes.  Speaker 2  We’re on a break.  Speaker 2  Run a break.  Speaker 4  Chase  Speaker 1  So outside of Westview things, getting real bad inside of Westview things, getting even worse and it’s still up in the air exactly who is behind this?  Speaker 2  Yes.  Speaker 1  Who is controlling this?  Speaker 1  Who is in charge?  Speaker 1  What is causing this as we go through the episode the break stuff.  Speaker 2  We’re going to speculate.  Speaker 2  Yeah, this episode was interesting.  Speaker 2  It started with the format starting to really fall apart.  Speaker 2  The way this episode ended.  Speaker 2  I was like, oh, that’s not an ending place.  Speaker 3  Yeah, it was a very interesting ending where I was like wait what and then I.  Speaker 3  It’s like is there something passing credits or something because it feels like there should be a button of some kind.  Speaker 4  Millimeter.  Speaker 2  I always watch all the credits, including the Dutch ones, ’cause maybe that’s where it’s buried.  Speaker 2  We were nice.  Speaker 1  Yeah.  Speaker 1  You gotta read all of them, that’s the.  Speaker 2  Bad part, I’ve learned so many languages.  Speaker 1  There’s a few tricks, subway there.  Speaker 2  Yeah, exactly.  Speaker 1  The I agree with you, but we’ve kind of talked about the structure of the season and we’re not going to fully know how it lands.  Speaker 1  Obviously, until the final episode, but I do feel like here.  Speaker 1  We’re kind of getting the end of the second act of the series, but also we’re just kicking into high gear.  Speaker 1  It’s the MCU movie to my to my mind.  Speaker 1  It feels like this episode.  Speaker 1  The last three episodes.  Speaker 1  That’s the MCU movie The rest of it there’s no slagging off at all, but the rest of it was set up.  Speaker 1  That was setting up the House of Cards so that everything could start tumbling down this episode.  Speaker 1  And I think that’s what we’re going to see happening.  Speaker 2  Yeah, it is interesting.  Speaker 2  We talked about how the the different errors of television sort of bend toward more realistic storytelling and then we did.  Speaker 2  What we didn’t say and it makes total sense to make the jump into full movie storytelling, I think is to your point.  Speaker 2  What’s happening here?  Speaker 2  But it makes for it’s not TV.  Speaker 2  It’s fully, so yeah.  Yeah.  Speaker 2  Yeah, exactly wow.  Speaker 2  How dare you?  Speaker 4  Ah, the line there.  Speaker 2  You’re about to get hexed in a major way from the Disney Corporation, but it does.  Speaker 2  It makes for a whole other way of telling this story like we’re just going to get little chunks of movie.  Speaker 2  Basically, I think going forward.  Speaker 3  Yeah, movie chunks.  Speaker 1  Yeah, So what jumped out with you from the episode was something that you thought was particularly interesting, or either thematically or plot wise.  Speaker 2  Loves trucks.  Speaker 3  Well, I really I.  Speaker 1  Pete, what cars did you like?  Speaker 3  I really identified with the Crying lady who was like putting up just kind of like frozen in like a one move thing where she was trying to put up Halloween decorations.  Speaker 2  Lot of cars.  Speaker 2  You  Speaker 2  Identified with her at work.  Speaker 3  Yeah I feel like ’cause we’re all like time is weird right now so it’s like oh.  Speaker 4  Are you OK yet?  Speaker 3  Chris Green is.  Speaker 3  Yeah, I mean like we’re all in this loop that we can’t stop and it’s just so weird.  Speaker 3  And you know what are days anymore?  Speaker 3  I mean it’s it’s I really identified with her in her single tear.  Speaker 2  Wow, that’s I mean that was sort of the most haunting moment of the episode.  Speaker 2  I think they did a good job of making it actually scary there is.  Speaker 2  I don’t think this is a purposeful connection, but it felt very stranger things to me, the vision said.  Huh?  Speaker 2  Just here because it was just like the Halloween connection and the way that they just went from very normal look, feeling and looking things into very unsettling image imagery by just freezing people, unfreezing them when you don’t.  Speaker 3  Yeah, yeah, that was really just seeing people kind of frozen.  Speaker 2  Expect it.  Speaker 3  That was very unsettling.  Speaker 1  And I like how it hasn’t exactly been a slow progression, but the progression through the episodes where they’ve let things fall apart.  Speaker 1  Error we started to get hints that things weren’t right.  Speaker 1  The reality was breaking down in little bits for the first couple of episodes and then it felt like the lid got popped off there.  Speaker 1  In that last episode where it’s with that moment where Agnes says, hey, do you want me to take it again?  Speaker 1  Where now we know there are people who are aware they know they’re in a sitcom.  Speaker 4  Yeah.  Speaker 1  We get that from whatever is going on with Pietro this episode.  Speaker 1  We get it from Agnes.  Speaker 1  We also get it from Hugh.  Speaker 1  I believe that’s the name of the character which I thought was interesting.  Speaker 1  We got a little bit of that when he was trimming the hedges.  Speaker 1  A couple of episodes back, but he seems to be.  Speaker 1  There may be the same kind of level of awareness as Agnes in terms of the sitcom world, but also, like you’re saying, with vision, walking out of Westview, seeing outside of wherever Wanda is, things are frozen and people are just trapped, and that’s it.  Speaker 1  And that’s terrifying.  Speaker 2  And while we’re talking about this, maybe it makes sense to talk about the commercial, the sort of go-gurt commercial ’cause that was ominous as well, where you have some claymation characters, he’s just hungry.  No, yeah.  Speaker 2  The kid on the island and he gets a young man.  Speaker 2  Magic yogurt thing and just watch him slowly die.  Speaker 3  Do you heart is to kind of peel off those things you know, especially when you’re at a deserted island and.  Speaker 2  I think I know exactly.  Speaker 2  I was like if there’s a character piece could identify with it’s the kid who can’t open the yogurt.  Speaker 3  Oh my God, yeah, I feel like I’m that kid waiting for Black Widow to come out.  Speaker 3  You know what I mean?  Speaker 3  Like it’s just you know I’m gonna slowly turn into a skeleton.  Speaker 2  I know.  Speaker 2  And P I’ll be down to your apartment to open your yogurts.  Speaker 2  I’ll just leave him outside here on your front door.  Speaker 3  Well, make sure you open them and then lievable ****** OK.  Speaker 2  That’s why I say I’m gonna I’m.  Speaker 4  Gonna open, yeah.  Speaker 3  Jesus Christ, you know that would be.  Speaker 1  Kids in the neighborhood walking by.  Speaker 1  Oh there’s the guy with a bunch of open doors.  Speaker 2  What’s your main food?  Speaker 1  Crazy old people.  Speaker 2  What’s your main form of income?  Speaker 2  I open a friend of mines yogurts and legalize welcome at.  Speaker 1  Your fun surprise, Justin, just to wrap it all together.  Speaker 4  You don’t see if you just say yogurt in them.  Speaker 1  Fill one of those yogurt with a bunch of.  Speaker 1  Actual black widows so be living off.  Speaker 1  Fun there they are, yeah.  Speaker 4  It’s a tie in.  Speaker 4  It’s a product I and.  Speaker 3  I will put that together.  Speaker 3  Put that together.  Speaker 1  What do you think is going on there? Because I feel like a lot of the other commercials. If if we’re right and this is, I think the popular interest theory is we’re sort of progressing through Wanda’s history. With all of these commercials, all the traumatic event she’s dealt with.  Speaker 1  What are you doing?  Speaker 1  What is this?  Speaker 3  What what? There’s just?  Speaker 2  The light.  Speaker 3  Beam of light streaking down your thing and it is I I don’t know what to do with it and it’s just.  Speaker 4  I will say Alex, it is.  Speaker 3  Gotta go like this.  Speaker 4  Did you shoot a gun into the Sky recently?  Speaker 4  Actually, it looks like June Yosemite Sam it and just like happy to have what they did this morning like.  Speaker 1  Like a bullet hole.  Speaker 4  We  Speaker 1  I was just so excited about this episode of Widevision I was.  Speaker 1  Like oh darn it live rabbits.  Speaker 3  Yeah dude, were you when you were?  Speaker 3  Looking for places to live there?  Speaker 3  Like do you have a single beam of light that will come down into my basement?  Oh  Speaker 3  I’m sorry.  Speaker 1  Would you, when you look for an apartment, you ask about the breathing holes, right?  Speaker 4  Suffocating in here right now.  Speaker 1  I know that she goes to get her if there are.  Speaker 1  No holes in my apartment.  Speaker 4  Great.  Speaker 2  That’s that’s great.  Speaker 2  What if we can move past the shaft of light?  Speaker 2  I imagine it’s shiny.  Speaker 2  It’s shining down on like a button that says like upload or something like that, or like.  Speaker 4  Oh  Speaker 2  Dirt ammo.  Speaker 1  Can we get back to yo magic what’s?  Speaker 2  Going on there so.  Speaker 4  Right?  Speaker 2  I I don’t know this one is sort of confused me a little bit because I didn’t know if it was a way of showing that the townspeople are slowly dying because they’re not eating because the the magic is killing them.  Speaker 4  Oh wow.  Speaker 2  Which I thought was interesting and sort of ties into the vision being like you have to help these people when he gets past the bubble.  Speaker 2  And maybe that’s where we’ll turn.  Speaker 2  And the Scarlet Witch will be like I have to stop doing this.  Speaker 2  I’m killing this town of people.  Speaker 2  Either that or maybe the magic is what is killing the Scarlet Witch.  Speaker 2  And that’s maybe about a reference to her past or something, and we’re going to find out that it’s related to her powering up in this show.  Speaker 3  It was just weird how the shark was like.  Speaker 3  I remember hunger like he’s always full like what?  Speaker 3  What is that about like that?  Speaker 2  Yeah.  Speaker 3  Does this make any sense?  Speaker 1  Whatever is going on there, I thought it was great to get a claymation episode.  Speaker 4  Yeah.  Speaker 1  I thought that was a claymation commercial.  Speaker 1  I thought that was really a fun thing to see in this.  Speaker 3  Do you think it’s a tease, full full claymation episode?  Speaker 4  Ah, that would be great.  Speaker 2  I don’t know, yes definitely.  Speaker 4  He said, raising that.  Speaker 1  Well, what we’re? If we’re moving from the 2000 to 2010’s? As we all know, the majority of sitcoms in the 2010’s were claymation. That was the popular.  Speaker 2  Form, that’s true really that start with the California Raisins.  Speaker 2  If you don’t know what that is, I guess Google it or don’t just guess or guess what?  Speaker 2  It is no good.  Speaker 1  And then it actually also ended.  Speaker 1  With the California raisins.  Speaker 2  That’s absolutely right.  Speaker 1  That’s a little sitcom history for you all.  Speaker 1  People pick up history for you all do.  Speaker 2  You think that they are going to push into 2010?  Speaker 2  Sitcoms, or are we done with it?  Speaker 1  Yeah, I think next episode is going to be the office style episode, right?  Speaker 1  With confessionals and things.  Speaker 1  We’ve seen.  Speaker 1  There’s been footage in the trailers of Wanda talking directly to camera, so I do think we’re going to get that, but that’s going to be kind of the final iteration of sitcom interesting.  Speaker 3  Oh wow.  Speaker 3  Do you mean we’re going to skip past?  Speaker 3  Friends like no central perk nothing.  Speaker 2  Well, let me just say it.  Speaker 1  What is different about friends that Eddie of?  Speaker 2  I don’t know wow what.  Speaker 2  An indictment of friends from Alex he.  Speaker 1  Yeah, I watched the first guy eight friends.  Speaker 2  Hates friends, sister.  Speaker 2  You didn’t watch all of friends.  Speaker 2  Wow, maybe I don’t know who you are.  Speaker 3  Did you even get Justin’s reference?  Speaker 1  I couldn’t be anymore obvious though, wow.  Speaker 4  How did you do that you said?  Speaker 4  If we get to be get.  Speaker 3  We would see some show.  Speaker 1  It listen I’ve watched.  Speaker 1  Two shows, friends.  Speaker 1  Just the first season and California Raisins and that’s it.  Speaker 1  But I think I get a sense of what’s.  Speaker 2  Going on here, you understand television.  Speaker 2  Let me ask you this, are we gonna get a 2 broke girls?  Speaker 3  Oh  Speaker 4  Reference that.  Speaker 1  I I, I know we were a little off on the end of the episode towards the beginning of this podcast here, but I love the ending here.  Speaker 1  I thought Wanda expanding the hex really amped up the danger.  Speaker 1  I thought seeing everybody turned into a carnival, that’s something that we haven’t seen on the show yet.  Speaker 1  What happens when the hex wall comes over people?  Speaker 1  I thought that sequence was awesomely done at having everybody switch over to just doing the bibigon.  Speaker 1  Everything was great and getting to see Pete.  Yeah.  Speaker 1  I feel like you asked for this last episode.  Speaker 1  You were bummed that we were going to see cat dead eggs.  Speaker 1  In Sitka Blad it was a very obvious way to set it up there by having her handcuffed to the truck and left and everything, but it’s still fun.  Speaker 1  It’s a good set up and getting her through it in there is delightful.  Speaker 3  The old fridge moment was hysterical when she goes open they goes fudge because she was being.  Speaker 1  I’m excited to see what.  Speaker 2  Happens with that it can’t.  Speaker 3  That was really fun.  Speaker 2  It can’t endings.  Speaker 2  I feel like for whatever it is, she exists sort of outside of all realms ’cause she had to do some very like she do, some hacking lines.  Speaker 2  She’s doing a lot of talking to her.  Speaker 2  Stuff like I get you now.  Speaker 2  Hayward yeah.  Speaker 2  And so like that.  Speaker 2  Very like melodramatic stuff that usually you’re like.  Speaker 2  This is lame, but for whatever reason she just.  Speaker 4  Gee.  Speaker 4  She.  Speaker 2  Her line delivery, like somehow works I think.  Speaker 3  It really does.  Speaker 3  It’s a it’s great.  Speaker 3  It’s also very funny because she was on Kimmel talking about like how like she didn’t even know about that brother reveal until the last second like they.  Speaker 3  Had him covered in shroud and then moved down to set so like you.  Speaker 3  A shroud yeah so like.  Speaker 1  Guys.  Speaker 3  Very interesting how we’re in the dark.  Speaker 3  The actors are in the dark till the last second.  Speaker 3  It’s scary.  Speaker 2  Pete then this is I’m a little speaking about, scary and unsettled.  Speaker 2  Did you do some sort of research for this podcast?  Speaker 3  Not.  Speaker 2  ’cause you watched another thing about it and like provided that information for the rest of us to know something.  Yeah.  Speaker 3  Yeah, things are weird man.  Speaker 3  This is a new world.  Speaker 4  Backs repeat halves.  Speaker 1  Couple other things outside of the hex just to wrap up that area before we move back inside because there’s lots of comic book stuff we could talk through there that we’ve already touched on, but we don’t find out who Monica is.  Speaker 1  Contact is, but I do feel more confident after this episode that we’re actually going to see whoever it is.  Speaker 1  So any further feelings on that I I feel like the read richer thing is definitely gained.  Speaker 1  Speed of the Internet, but I don’t know how likely that necessary.  Speaker 1  Really is.  Speaker 2  No, I don’t.  Speaker 3  Because.  Speaker 3  Got it for read.  Speaker 3  You could just like show a bendy arm.  Speaker 3  You know?  Speaker 3  I mean, I think the whole thing is cell phone me like, hey, don’t worry, I’ll be right here, you know?  Speaker 1  Just an arm reaching off camera.  Speaker 4  Moo.  Speaker 3  Yeah yeah, really easy to do.  Speaker 2  No, I don’t think I don’t think it can be a heavy hitter.  Speaker 2  We are going to get a a new heavy hitter.  Speaker 2  I think it’s going to be a call back to somebody else, and I think it is going to be like I don’t know which one.  Speaker 2  But it’s an MCU character from the MCU that we’ve already met.  Speaker 2  Is what I think, and it’s going to be someone that helps her out in some way.  Speaker 2  But doesn’t go fight with her.  Speaker 1  Yeah, I think it’s going to be a quick show up I. I felt a little more confident this episode on it being talose Ben Mendelsohn’s character from Captain Marvel because they keep dropping. Captain Marvel references made. It certainly could be aerospace engineer and she had a good good relationship with him as a child in Captain Marvel in the movement.  Speaker 2  Is that?  Speaker 4  You sure do.  Speaker 3  That doushi guy was like a Rambo.  Speaker 3  I’ve seen Captain Marvel.  Speaker 2  He meant the movie, yeah.  Speaker 1  They have, well, that’s the thing.  Speaker 1  If you’re in the MCU world, you gotta go see all the movies.  Speaker 1  You know everybody what everybody is talking about.  Speaker 2  In the theater opening weekend.  Speaker 2  So yes, but you have to buy the big popcorn if you live in the MCU.  Speaker 1  And now it’s even worse on the embassy in the MCU world, they gotta wake up at 3:00 AM and watch their own show.  Speaker 1  Otherwise they’re going to be spoiled on Twitter later on that day.  Speaker 2  No one would do that, really, that’s crazy.  Speaker 2  But I was gonna say the.  Speaker 3  So about water balloons.  Speaker 2  Yeah, I was gonna like I gotta get my water balloons filled with shaving cream going right now.  Speaker 3  Yeah.  Speaker 3  You gotta be ready for Halloween.  Speaker 2  In math, you don’t think it’s going to be actual Captain Marvel you think Dallas is a more.  Speaker 1  Yeah, I still think it.  Speaker 1  Feels like Monica has something weird about Captain Marvel.  Speaker 1  There is another measure there.  Speaker 1  There’s that showdown with Hayward that she has right before they’re kicked out of sword where he were just drops.  Speaker 2  There’s a reference.  Speaker 1  I’m glad your mother died or whatever that live is, which is.  Speaker 3  Yeah yo that was messed up on.  Speaker 2  In November, I’m glad you weren’t here.  Speaker 3  Gradually punch him.  Speaker 3  How did roomful of people nobody.  Speaker 4  Punches him in the face for saying that.  Speaker 4  Yeah.  Speaker 1  But he mentions Captain Marvel and they cut to Monica an there’s a little micro expression that she has.  Speaker 2  Yeah.  Speaker 1  So again, I think there’s some bad blood there or something like that and we don’t know exactly what it is yet.  Speaker 1  A couple of other quick little things to throw out cataract.  Speaker 1  So when Darcy is searching, she finds the secret file.  Speaker 1  It’s called cataract.  Speaker 1  She sends it to Jimmy Woo.  Speaker 1  I did a big search while she’s putting in the.  Speaker 1  Emails you see James D Gold, James J Alexander and James X Sackler Dash ND show up when she’s searching for Jimmy views email address. Well, hold on hold on hold on, let me actually finish this thought when she’s searching for Jimmy was addressed, she sends him the file on cataract. So presumably next episode since they’re outside the hex, probably there.  Speaker 3  I think this is smart.  Speaker 1  We get that James J Alexander is a VFX producer for Marvel, so I think that’s the only real Easter egg there.  Speaker 4  Moonbot  Speaker 1  But what do you think cataract is?  Speaker 1  What’s going?  Speaker 3  On, well, I think this is a smart way to have shows talk about cataracts because it affects so many people and if we’re not talking about it, you know you know you might have the symptoms and not even realize it so.  Speaker 4  Miller  Speaker 3  I like this like a nod to the old GI Joe.  Speaker 3  Like you know, kind of like a lesson at the end of the episode.  Speaker 2  A PSA, yeah.  Speaker 3  But yeah, yeah, you know, I think it was seamlessly introduced and I really I think it’s important to kind of make sure people are aware.  Speaker 2  Definitely that.  Speaker 2  Well, let me throw this out to you.  Speaker 2  Cataract obviously, and I something that afflicts your eye in the flashback to Sokovia, we Quicksilver had an eye Patch in them at the beginning of the episode.  Speaker 2  I feel like Quicksilver talk about this now, but I think that Quicksilver is maybe the villain sort of in disguise is her brother.  Speaker 2  Is there a one eyed villain that is somehow maybe at play here could?  Speaker 1  I throw something else at you with that flashback.  Speaker 2  Yes.  Speaker 1  So first of all, love that just classic sitcom Flashback.  Speaker 2  Great friend.  Speaker 1  Really well done.  Speaker 1  I do.  Speaker 1  I do think they were dressed up as Black Widow and Nick Fury.  Speaker 1  I think that’s what was going on there.  Speaker 2  That’s what I thought, yeah, yeah.  Speaker 1  So I think that’s what was going on.  Speaker 1  She had like even add Ted as some sort of weird bug thing, and she had the Natasha hair, so I think that’s what was going on.  Speaker 1  Here I think if anything the I can refer to the fact that every single credits sequence so far has zoomed into visions.  Speaker 1  I we’ve had.  Speaker 1  That, like that, is repeated riff right at the end of the episode.  Speaker 1  In the credits we go directly into a shot of vision from the episode into his eye.  Speaker 1  Clearly, Hayward is very interested in vision he’s tracking.  Speaker 1  Him inside of the hex, he seemed to be potentially experimenting on his body back at sword, so if anything, I think cataract probably has something to do with vision.  Speaker 1  Yeah, not necessarily.  Speaker 1  Anything else?  Speaker 3  Well, I want to talk about in that flashback that Lady was giving away full sized fish, not the small fish that was full sized fish.  Speaker 3  She was given away.  Speaker 3  I mean that that’s a great hours to go.  Speaker 2  I I always hated going, trick or treating and just getting a bunch of minnows.  Speaker 2  You always gotta go to the house with the.  Speaker 4  Big fish, the fish.  Speaker 1  Yeah, I’ll take a.  Speaker 4  They will size fish.  Speaker 1  Lot.  Speaker 1  What are the weirdest Halloween experiences I ever had with my kids?  Speaker 1  Was we went to a house that was giving away celery and they’ll.  Speaker 1  Loved it, they kept asking for salary for like weeks afterwards.  Speaker 4  You have kids shopping.  Speaker 1  It was the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to me.  Speaker 2  That’s real.  Speaker 1  This is a 100% real story.  Speaker 3  Why would you eat?  Speaker 3  Celery from a strangers house man that seems so creepy I.  Speaker 1  Don’t know, just it wasn’t this past Halloween.  Speaker 4  I’m not.  Speaker 4  Was this?  Speaker 4  That’s fine, we just went.  Speaker 1  A drowned in covert eyes are like give us celery, yeah?  Speaker 4  Oh, that’s fun.  Speaker 2  I think you’re the one that’s having a psychotic break, not Pete with a heavy just.  Speaker 1  Make me want to ban wicked Wanda.  Speaker 2  Naked stalks of celery.  Speaker 1  Yeah, that was.  Speaker 3  It no peanut butter and ants on the log nothing.  Speaker 1  Nokia butter no answer to lock nothing.  Speaker 2  Not not pre packaged.  Speaker 3  And your kids liked it.  Speaker 1  No, it wasn’t pre packaged.  Speaker 1  Celery, what are you talking about?  Speaker 2  Like what the ones that go.  Speaker 4  Just lose salary.  Speaker 1  In this bloody man, I like the single serve you pick up at a deli like hey, give me a pack of smokes and what are?  Speaker 2  The single serve salaries please.  Speaker 2  Yeah, like the product I started which is like go-gurt but for celery.  Speaker 4  Speed.  Speaker 3  Yeah, I can’t believe you’re cute.  Speaker 4  Onspeed, Larry P.  Speaker 4  You did that.  Speaker 3  You liked it.  Speaker 1  Pete, you always have that problem with opening up the celery package, right?  Speaker 1  So you gotta love, we get inside of the hex because there’s so much stuff to talk about.  Speaker 3  So hard, so happy.  Speaker 1  And we know I wanna keep yeah.  Speaker 2  Oh, just record it.  Speaker 2  I should have to make a note to myself too.  Speaker 2  When I open pizza yogurt to make sure I pretty open the celery and slice it up so that he can he.  Speaker 1  Dip it, yeah, celery dippers adjust.  Speaker 2  Can eat it, yeah?  Speaker 2  Yeah, celery and yogurt.  Speaker 3  Who is excited about?  Speaker 2  My favorite company.  Speaker 3  Celery, what is wrong with your children?  Speaker 4  Yes.  Speaker 3  What are you doing to your kids where they are excited?  Speaker 4  Quick.  Speaker 1  About salary, I mean they don’t have breathing holes in their roots.  Speaker 2  Yeah.  Speaker 2  They’ve never tasted anything quite so interesting as that one stock of celery.  Speaker 1  Lots of stuff going on here.  Speaker 1  Love the dynamic with the whole family.  Speaker 1  I thought this was super fun.  Speaker 1  Also, as we talked about in the last episode, people aren’t being very secret with their powers anymore.  Speaker 1  Like if you’re going to talk about like the lid, pop it off speed Wiccan for those who don’t know.  Speaker 1  For those who are new to the comics.  Speaker 1  Billy and tubby?  Speaker 1  Here are wicked and speed.  Speaker 3  Don’t flex ’cause you remembered it right.  Speaker 1  I got that right.  Speaker 1  No, I’m I have it written.  Speaker 1  Down here, so I actually don’t forget.  Speaker 2  That we need when you advance into older age.  Speaker 2  Remembering anything is a flat.  Speaker 1  Here is fine.  Speaker 1  Problem in the comics, there’s Tommy and there’s Teddy and Teddy and Billy are boyfriends and I constantly confused the names Teddy and Tommy, and I’m sorry they were the first same 1st letter of the same last letter of the same number of letters.  Speaker 1  Also I’m old.  Speaker 2  Yeah.  Speaker 3  Sounds like a whole lot of excuses, you know, I mean.  Speaker 1  Yes, so in the context of two parts of The Avengers we talked about this a little bit last week as well.  Speaker 1  As we saw on the show, Tommy gets his speed powers.  Speaker 1  They’re very like Quicksilver.  Speaker 1  He can move fast.  Speaker 1  He also has a very similar costume, though not exactly the same costume as Quicksilver, and Billy has kind of undefined powers in the comics.  Speaker 1  He basically has to repeat things a bunch of times.  Speaker 1  And he can warp reality like how wander can do in the comics.  Speaker 1  We get things that I think are a little more in line with her MCU nature here, where he has seemingly a little bit of telepathy.  Speaker 1  He could definitely move things we see blue come out of his head instead of red like his mom, but I like this.  Speaker 1  I’m excited that they’re pulling off their powers already.  Speaker 2  Yeah, it’s exciting because this is a thing for sure now.  Speaker 2  Like eventually, we’re going to get like we talked about this.  Speaker 2  I think we’re going to get the young Avengers.  Speaker 4  Uh huh.  Speaker 2  Maybe that’s I don’t know what capacity they will be.  Speaker 3  I I’m I’m really worried about if they leave the bubble.  Speaker 4  Again.  Speaker 3  If the kids can leave and they do leave like what that does to them because in this episode they’re talking about people cell structure changes if you go in and out, But if you’re born in there like what does that mean for you?  Speaker 2  Oh yes, he did tell me.  Speaker 1  I do think there’s something to be said for the fact that they seem to be aware and able to control the narrative in a very similar way to how no one is.  Speaker 3  Trying to get into the outside world?  Speaker 1  I think that’s the purpose of them doing the directed camera.  Speaker 1  Throughout this episode.  Speaker 1  It’s not just the sick time trope, it’s also the fact that, like.  Speaker 1  Like we see Billy can see outside the Dome.  Speaker 1  He sees what’s going on with vision and I don’t hex he sees what’s going on with vision.  Speaker 1  He understands there.  Speaker 1  So yeah, I think that’s the question.  Speaker 1  I think they need to get to a certain age where they can venture outside the hex, because that’s kind of probably the whole point of this as they told us from.  Speaker 1  The very beginning what?  Speaker 4  Exactly.  Speaker 1  Yeah, for the children.  Speaker 3  I remember in the beginning of the show where they said listen the whole point of this thing is we’ve gotta age up some kids so they’ll be OK to live outside of this bubble weekly.  Speaker 1  For the children, for the children, for the children, it’s all for the children.  Speaker 1  They told us that in the third episode, where they also said you gotta tell people what the magic trick is.  Speaker 2  Now in light of ’cause we speculated that Agnes was the one driving a lot of this taking care of the kids stuff and then in this episode we see Agnes and she is fully under the Hex.  Speaker 2  She vision breaks out of it briefly and she’s acting like just another scared person.  Speaker 2  Do you think my theory is that she was doing that to try to push vision?  Speaker 2  Even hard.  Speaker 2  Sure, so that was a little bit of.  Speaker 1  Playacting there I’m yeah I’m back on the Agnes beat.  Speaker 1  As of this episode because versus the created the peak called out earlier.  Speaker 1  Everybody else seems to be frozen in a very specific way where they really cannot move.  Speaker 1  The lady is crying and she’s not moving, but when we cut it an actress in the car.  Speaker 1  It’s such a little thing, but she’s breathing.  Speaker 2  Yeah, any we saw that little.  Speaker 2  There’s a little movement that I thought was like yeah, oh they that’s a purposeful thing.  Speaker 1  So whatever she is doing.  Speaker 1  She’s dressed as a witch, which is doubles down on the idea that she is Agatha Harkness in some form from the comics, and is a witch, certainly that might turn into the yo magic thing in some way, potentially because Scarlet Witch’s powers aren’t exactly magic their science based.  Speaker 3  Well, I think we back up for a second.  Speaker 3  First of all, yogurt is magic, so I mean like let that’s what that is.  Speaker 1  Sure, how do they even make it?  Speaker 1  Nobody knows.  Speaker 3  Exactly.  Speaker 2  Yeah, it’s like milk but hard.  Yeah.  Speaker 2  You know, and not not too hard, but like harder if.  Speaker 1  If you translate yogurt from the native sokovian, it means hard milk.  Speaker 4  Well.  Speaker 4  Yeah, yeah.  Speaker 1  So yes, I agree with you, Justin. I think Agnes was pushing vision in Subway. I think she was aware of the entire time even when he did the mindstone touch on her head. What her purpose is, what she’s trying to do. I’m not 100% sure, but it might just be what happens at the end of the episode. Set up a situation where the hex.  Speaker 2  Gets expanded well in it.  Speaker 2  Feels like she’s been pushing Scarlet Witch to like to sort of breakthrough whatever this is, so I think she’s seeking some sort of end to the hex.  Speaker 2  And maybe that’s too.  Speaker 2  Then take control of the children, but it and she is she doing it for the children?  Speaker 2  Because does she care about them?  Speaker 2  Or is she trying to use them as a weapon?  Speaker 2  I guess it goes to like is she a good guy or a?  Speaker 2  Bad guy at the end of the day, I mean.  Speaker 1  I don’t know, I wonder because this show has this is complete raw speculation that I’m just thinking about right now.  Speaker 1  But given that the show is really doubling down on trauma and that that is the whole point here that wanted dealt with the death of vision and many, many other people throughout her life that we’re getting that from Monica, who very explicitly says I know what bonded went through.  Yes.  Speaker 1  And is relating back there.  Speaker 1  It certainly seems like we.  Speaker 1  I think we talked about this last episode that Agnes went through some trauma herself.  Speaker 1  She has.  Speaker 1  There’s the moment when Billy and Tommy looking at my notes here say why?  Speaker 1  Don’t you just bring Sparky back to life and Agnes starts crying and says you can do that?  Speaker 1  I wonder if her.  Speaker 1  Kids died like I wonder if there was some.  Speaker 1  Sort of deal of.  Speaker 1  She is manipulating Wanda, saying, I could bring vision back in return.  Speaker 1  I get these kids, you know whether wanted no centered on whether she said that out loud.  Speaker 1  She’s tried to make new children for herself.  Speaker 2  That’s interesting, that sort of goes to Pietro mentions the kids when he’s talking to one delayed an episode.  Speaker 3  I mean.  Speaker 2  Like where do these kids come from?  Speaker 2  These kids so?  Speaker 3  Yeah, so well, First off I want to say like.  Speaker 3  I understand what you’re saying about Agnes, but she was kind of stuck on the edge of town, you know, so maybe she was trying to kind of like drive out, you know, like the doctor was before and then they both when they got to the edge of town.  Speaker 3  Kind of had this thing of like nobody escapes.  Speaker 3  So I I kind of feel like she was trying to escape a little bit.  Speaker 3  Or you know those drives you take where you just kind of stop at a stop sign or a stoplight and you just start crying and you just kind of question your life and what’s going on and what are we all doing here?  Speaker 3  And are we in some like fish tank of life like?  Speaker 3  But I think that when.  Speaker 3  The kids thing is like ’cause all of a sudden kids appeared in this episode and the kind of like Quicksilver sit down with Wanda where he’s like.  Speaker 3  Hey, I’m fuzzy on the details, but like.  Speaker 3  You know what’s going on right and how did this all start?  Speaker 3  And she’s like, I’m not sure.  Speaker 3  Yeah, it it goes back and forth because Quicksilver seems like he’s the fun Quicksilver, we know.  Speaker 3  But then when we see him with the bullet holes and stuff, it’s like it really.  Speaker 3  Just.  Speaker 2  It’s less fun.  Speaker 3  Yeah, it’s very less fun, and it’s also like wait, which is this actually the Quicksilver?  Speaker 1  This also might just be Evan Peters acting, but there’s much more of an edge to him than Aaron Taylor Johnson had in his performance.  Speaker 3  Not since.  Speaker 1  It feels like there’s something more going on there.  Speaker 1  I’m still not convinced this is Pietro from another universe or anything like that.  Speaker 1  I don’t know. They seem to strongly imply this episode that this is PHR’s reanimated body, but similar to others. That weird moment where vision doesn’t know that he was Avenger and there seems to be gaps in his memory and he died seem as there’s gaps and things that are different and changed in pietros memory.  Speaker 1  So I guess what I’m saying is, I think it could go either way.  Speaker 1  At this point it could.  Speaker 1  I guess BPH from another universe, though I’m not convinced. It also could be something that was created out of thin air in a way similar to how Vision’s body was reconstituted. But maybe his mind wasn’t exactly. I’m not 100% sure, but we’ll find out.  Speaker 4  This these are.  Speaker 2  All great points.  Speaker 2  Do you remember when Pete said he just goes for drives and cries?  Speaker 2  It’s outside.  Speaker 1  I’ll tell you what.  Speaker 1  I don’t know about you, but by by and immediately went to him, sitting there listening to drivers license by Olivia Rodrigo Yogurt just poured down the front of his shirt, his truck full of celery.  Yeah.  Speaker 1  Yeah.  Speaker 2  But if you someone imagine if someone a friend of yours is like, oh, look at all this celery I bought you would be like this person’s last ever need more than one package of celery for anything.  Speaker 2  Yeah.  Speaker 4  He prays that.  Speaker 2  I it’s always writing the part of my fridge.  Speaker 1  What are you doing?  Speaker 1  How many French?  Speaker 1  How many chicken pot pies are you?  Speaker 2  Making, I’m having one Bloody Mary and the rest.  Speaker 2  Goes straight in the trash.  Speaker 2  On the on the petrol tip I feel like.  Speaker 2  He’s if there is a villain in this show.  Speaker 2  I think he is the villain who is dressing up like Pietro and I.  Speaker 2  I think he’s working with the Agnes character like they got Agnes job up until this episode was to be with Wanda and to sort of watch her push her mind to the kids and then I think her job because Pietro was there doing that.  Speaker 2  Agnes then switches to pushing vision further for this through the story.  Speaker 3  He also didn’t answer the question you just deflected it.  Speaker 3  She asked him a very specific question and he was like you’re testing me and didn’t answer the question.  Speaker 2  And she’s clearly suspicious of him.  Speaker 4  It also.  Speaker 2  Like she.  Why wouldn’t you?  Speaker 2  She’s asking him question, yeah, so she knows.  Speaker 2  I think subconsciously, that this isn’t Quicksilver, but it’s playing on the same thing.  Speaker 2  The trauma, and then the status quo installer factor that she’s.  Speaker 2  This caused her to create this hex anyway.  Speaker 2  If in the beginning, like she needs to see vision, she wanted to have a family.  Speaker 2  She wants her brother to be there.  Speaker 2  So they’re taking advantage of what they know about her to serve their ends, whatever that is.  Speaker 1  Yeah, I think that seems fair.  Speaker 1  What other things?  Speaker 1  There’s a bunch of different Easter eggs and little things that I wrote down, but were there any other big?  Speaker 1  Scenes you guys wanted to talk about that jumped out.  Speaker 3  Again, there’s just weird that in Sokovia there you know they said that her parents I want to dress up like Nick Fury and Black Widow parents had to be like.  Speaker 3  Who and what?  Speaker 2  That’s true.  Speaker 1  That doesn’t make sense with this timeline.  Speaker 1  Yeah, what are you doing?  Speaker 1  What are you doing?  Speaker 2  The parents are very aware.  Speaker 2  Well, I want one Halloween when is lol from the TV show wings so I can understand why like no one would know what that costume it is.  Speaker 3  How old were?  Speaker 2  Yeah Tom Thomas Haden church.  Speaker 3  You and what were your parents saying, yeah?  Speaker 2  They’re like this kid loves you.  Speaker 2  Things.  Speaker 4  Great show.  Speaker 1  So I’ll just run through a couple of things that I wrote down.  Speaker 1  We mentioned this earlier, but Pietro gets the classic Quicksilver costume down to the hair, which I thought was super fun.  Speaker 1  Very fun, really enjoyed that.  Speaker 1  Also, this was a weird thing, but just because I was like still framing things and tried to find Easter eggs, there’s a brand in there.  Speaker 1  Maple Hill milk is what they’re using, which is actually a modern milk brand.  Speaker 1  So that was just a little anachronism thing.  Speaker 4  Vin.  Speaker 1  I don’t think it was a clue I was like.  Speaker 1  Maple Hill barville what is?  Speaker 2  This reference to way to keep your eye on the milks or as we call it soft milk as opposed to yogurt.  Speaker 1  Which is hard.  Speaker 1  Thank you.  Speaker 1  Another thing that was harder to catch in the opening credits.  Speaker 1  Vision is reading a newspaper and on the back page it looks like there’s an ad that just says Westview.  Speaker 1  There’s an alien spaceship, a classic saucer flying saucer over there and it seems to be like.  Speaker 1  I don’t know tractor beam, big a TV or something.  Speaker 1  It was a little hard to see, but that was a little bit of weirdness.  No.  Speaker 1  I also another thing that I don’t think needs much of anything but Pietro has a tattoo that says Mom on one shoulder.  Speaker 1  I saw that fun little very meta reference when they’re at the town square Halloween Scarefest  Speaker 1  Pietro says something to her.  Speaker 1  He runs away, he says, ******** and she says ******** which is a reference to the fact that both Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor Johnson were in ******** together.  Speaker 3  Ah, that’s nice, interesting.  Speaker 1  So there you go.  Speaker 1  You shoot little thing.  Speaker 1  Another thing on the marquee in the movie theater, the town is showing the Incredibles and the parent trap. Both Disney movies, both from different time periods that don’t necessarily match the 2000s. No excuse me, both of them make a lot of sense. Parent trap, Twins incredible superpowered family. I think that was pretty much all that was going on there.  Speaker 1  And I think that was it.  Speaker 4  Yeah.  Speaker 1  I wrote down the names of Ellis Ave in Rolling Hill Drive, but I think those are just St.  Speaker 2  Yeah, I was like oh what’s that accrued for then?  Speaker 2  I was like oh it’s just what Wanda said.  Speaker 2  One scene ago Michael Pasteles at yeah.  Speaker 1  I do love that, though I know there’s a lot of people that are like stop looking into Easter egg.  Speaker 1  Stop talking to theories, but I think that’s fun to look at.  Speaker 1  These things figured about some of them being things.  Speaker 1  Some of them don’t, but that’s a credit to the show for just packing everything so tightly in there.  Speaker 1  Like celery in a trunk.  Speaker 2  Zach  Speaker 2  Perfectly packed the beauty of Easter eggs is sometimes there about a deep reference to the original source material, and sometimes it’s an Easter egg for the story itself.  Speaker 3  Ah.  Speaker 2  Also known as a plot.  Speaker 3  I did really like the line where she was like, hey it’s the guy who was almost killed by his own murder squad.  Speaker 3  I thought that was really funny line did.  Speaker 2  A pretty nasty just to Hayward in a way where of course yes, but I’m saying then they they fight their own soldiers.  Speaker 3  He deserves it, OK?  Speaker 2  They’re going to get in trouble.  Speaker 3  Oh man, there’s still gonna be.  Speaker 1  Yeah, so they gotta follow the rules.  Speaker 2  I didn’t talk really talk about Monica’s blood work. She’s getting her photon powers basically.  Speaker 4  Yes.  Speaker 1  I guess the question is, is she going to get the powers now or does she have to go through the hex one more time for it to really?  Speaker 2  Seal the deal.  Speaker 2  I think one more time and I my guess would be she’s going to do it purposefully and maybe.  Speaker 4  Hum.  Speaker 2  Be aware like that’s a great fight starter.  Speaker 2  Move to step through the portal and be like.  Speaker 4  Yeah.  Speaker 1  That’ll be fun.  Speaker 3  What I’m worried about is the next episode.  Speaker 3  There’s going to be a lot of mimes.  Speaker 4  Millimeter.  Speaker 3  I don’t want that.  Not bad.  Speaker 3  I don’t wanna mime episode.  Speaker 2  Too many months.  Speaker 2  If you got pushed into the hex, what do you think you’d become?  Speaker 2  Obviously those soldiers all became clowns and mimes a lot of the buildings became other buildings.  Speaker 1  Ratchet Trap became a funnel cake truck.  Speaker
