As a restaurant owner or manager, when was the last time you took some time off from your restaurant? How long was it?  Have you ever experienced being fully unplugged and recharged-as in not checking labor, not getting those phone calls, and not being asked for different stuff in your restaurant?  The way we measure our effectiveness as restaurant leaders is by assessing how our team performs in our absence.  If you need to be at the restaurant all the time, and everything seems to be working smoothly, there's nothing much to brag about it. Just like parenting, if you need to be there all the time for your children to behave well because they become the opposite when you're not around - that is only a reflection of how you're doing as parents.  In today's show, I'm going to share with you the restaurant owner's guide to freedom - that it's okay to take some time off and be fully disconnected from your restaurant responsibilities and obligations.  Want more info and useful tips on the restaurant business and how to run a restaurant successfully? 119. Restaurant Owner: How to get a RAISE
Download: The Ultimate Restaurant Marketing Guide and all our FREE Resources at https://www.makingdoughshow.com/resources 5 Common Restaurant Complaints | And How to Respond to Guest Complaints https://youtu.be/p_ROZqRSSCU How to Handle Customer Complaints | The Right Way https://youtu.be/6GsBfQ1R-Gc Turn Complaining Customers Into Loyal Guests | Recover From Complaints https://youtu.be/9pZ_7I_BEEM Please visit our website https://www.makingdoughshow.com/. If you are a restaurant owner, how do you feel when employees ask for a raise because they are doing good in their jobs? When you are having a salary negotiation with a worker asking for a raise, what could be your basis for granting it? Remember, we should not give an increase in salary just because someone is good at their designated job - because we expect them to perform well anyway, right? We only provide a raise if they do new things apart from what they have signed up for, or in other words if we give them new tasks or responsibilities. But what if you, as a restaurant owner, think about how to ask for a raise? The same thing applies to you. If you continue to do the same thing for the last few months, that shouldn't warrant you to get a raise? You must be working on solving more significant problems. If you desire to give yourself a raise as a restaurant owner, if you want to grow your sales or have outstanding results, you need to shift and work on new things. What is your thought on this? Please put that in the comments section! Don't forget to give us a thumbs up if you liked this video. In today's Making Dough Show episode, I will share with you, based on our own experience, how your frustrations can lead to your freedom. When you are a restaurant owner, getting frustrated is quite easy, that's just a fact! All you got to do is to look around you -a piece of equipment breaks; you got a no call, no show; you received a nasty review online; you walked into your filthy restroom, and the list goes on and on. Our mission here at Making Dough Show is to help you run a profitable restaurant that does not run you. As an entrepreneur, you still need to learn how to take control of your life. During our first few years in the restaurant business, we were like slaves of our restaurant. We were working for long hours, and we would get calls all the time. There were even some instances when we needed to leave our guests in our own house to help out in the restaurant operations. Those were the days when we felt incredibly frustrated, exhausted, and sometimes embarrassed. We had no life until we've come to a point when we realized that we wanted freedom. Fast forward to the present, this freedom that is once, only a vision for us, has now become a reality. We are now enjoying spending most of our time with our family. We are no longer captives of our restaurant operations. We want you to experience the same, so please stay tuned if you want to know how we get to fulfill this freedom we're savoring at the moment!
